The Minnesota Supreme Court ruled today that Liberal Democrat Al Franken defeated Republican Norm Coleman in the highly contested senate seat. And doggone it, people like him. Well Obama and Harry Reid sure do like him.

The seat has been vacant since January 2009 with numerous recounts and legal battles. Seems Franken won with more votes then the actual amount of people who voted. Hey Minnesota you wanted change. You got it. Hope you enjoy it.

Franken will give the Democrats a super majority with 60, thanks to the Minnesota Supreme court and to Arlen Spector.

Senator Coleman conceded at a news conference today. He noted that about 4,000 absentee ballots ruled invalid should be counted.

“Al Franken received the highest number of votes legally cast and is entitled” by law “to receive the certificate of election as United States senator from the state of Minnesota,” Minnesota’s highest court said in an unsigned opinion. “Coleman introduced no evidence of foul play or misconduct” in one of his claims over missing ballots, the court said.

And of course the news pleased both the White House and Senate Majority Leader Liberal Democrat Harry Reid of Nevada. It was reported that Reid cracked a devilist grin.

Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty, a Republican, was urged by Reid to certify the Liberal Democrat as the winner so he can be sworn in. “He should put politics aside, follow his state’s laws and finally sign the certificate that will bring this episode to an end.”

Hey Harry! This is a state’s issue and you don’t get to tell any Governor what to do.

Pawlenty has said he would sign the certificate if ordered to do so by the court. The court’s ruling stopped short of explicitly ordering the governor to sign the document, saying only that Franken was “entitled” to it.
