Vanity Fair has long been a must-read magazine for liberal elites so it’s no real surprise that they spent a lot of ink on a recently published hit piece on Sarah Palin. Read more about it below, see photos and a video.
When you title your article “It came from Wasilla” it’s pretty much a given that you’re trying to insult - so it seems Palin Derangement Syndrome is alive and well at Vanity Fair! In a just published 10,000-word article on Sarah Palin, author Todd Purdum mocks, smirks, and seemingly lusts after her, all the while reporting numerous “anonymous” friends and campaign workers for Senator John McCain who trash the Governor of Alaska - even calling her “A Little Shop of Horrors.”
Ok, I read the manifesto article so you wouldn’t have to! And yes. It is a fairly stunning piece of work that, regardless if you have disagreements on policy points with Sarah Palin, you cannot help but see the blatant sexism, the snippy elitisms and snobbery, and the contempt and condescension felt for not just Palin but for average, everday Americans.
Here’s just one example of many of the ridiculous sexism in the article:
“As Palin makes her way slowly across the crowded ballroom—dressed all in black; no red Naughty Monkey Double Dare pumps tonight—she is stopped every few inches by adoring fans.”
What?? Can smart political women not wear high heels? Does she need wear uber-liberal Birkenstocks to be taken seriously? Maybe you do need to read it for yourself!
Look. Sarah Palin is strong. Remarkably so. She has been living in a Fishbowl since last August when she became John McCain’s running mate. She, along with her family, is still one of the few political figures who must endure both the scrutiny of international political media including the rabid left in this country and the celebrity/entertainment venues such as Entertainment Tonite and People Magazine. She has millions of devoted fans and incredibly angry enemies. This Vanity Fair article on Sarah Palin is the most recent example of that fact.

I am begging you –begging you! Please run Sarah in 2012. If you think we were energized against Bush - Sarah would be the biggest Democratic unity medicine you could hand us.

Oh, Stubs… If you think YOU’RE energized, wait til 2010. We have awoken and we are pissed. We will shove that treasonous president of yours so far back up Chicago’s ass, you’ll all be using hemorrhoid cream for years to come.
The more you clueless fools push Palin the angrier we get. And you really won’t like us when we’re angry..

If the left wasn’t so afraid of Sarah and the real American values she represents, she would be ignored…you don’t go after someone this long and hard to try and destroy them if you aren’t very very worried about her, heh heh heh.

One observation about Sarah Palin that sticks deep inside like a dagger: Palin fits the description of an NPD (Narcissistic Personality Disorder) to a tee. This fact, which should frighten the bejesus out of everyone, is also the one that Kristol fears most, as its the first one he trots out and dismisses not at all convincingly:
“Is there any real chance that “several” Alaskans independently told Purdum that they had consulted the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders? I don’t believe it for a moment. I’ve (for better or worse) moved in pretty well-educated circles in my life, and I’ve gone decades without “several” people telling me they had consulted the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders.”
Anyone with enough experience in life has encountered dangerous people like NPD narcissists and ASPD sociopaths — Palin’s documented behavior closely fits both diagnoses, which often run in tandem.
For a partisan Democratic example, just look at Jonathan Edwards, another pol who fits NPD traits to a tee (http://www.slate.com/id/2213740):
“John Edwards outed himself as one when forced to confess an adulterous affair. (Given his comical vanity, the deceitful way he used his marriage for his advancement, and his self-elevation as an embodiment of the common man while living in a house the size of an arena, it sounds like a pretty good diagnosis.)”
Palin is very probably NPD, and maybe ASPD too (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ASPD). Based on this alone, her political career should be dead, no matter what people thinks of her actual politics.

Well, that just settles it. Some internet looney named “ted” says Palin suffers from NPD. To prove it, he points us to Wikipedia, John Edwards, and some obscure quote about “Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders”. How can we doubt his comprehensive and thorough analysis?????
The sad part is that people like “ted” think everybody is as stupid as he is, and will buy his moronic ramblings.
“ted” really doesn’t understand that the lies he is telling about Palin only make her stronger. So keep it up “ted”. Those of us who are capable of using our brain power are laughing at morons like you.

Vanity Fair and other liberal publications that bash Sarah Palin are preaching only to their liberal choirs anymore. Rabid libs like ted, Klo, and Stubs may be energized but B. Insane Obama is losing the middle fast. (Check his latest approval ratings)
The average Joe is becoming more aware every day that the MSM cannot be trusted to tell the truth (Check their ratings) and they will become a nonentity next time around.
The new numbers have just been announced and Obama’s programs are failing miserably. By 2010 people will be anxious to put a stop to his agenda and by 2012 they’ll be desperate to vote for real change.
Sarah will be the breath of fresh air this country needs and will vote for. They know it and they’re scared to death of her.

By all means necessary, try to elect Sarah Palin for president. Please! In the meantime, you might want to get another dose of reality and, as a bonus, the kind of tweets you can expect from President Sarah Palin. This news is actually FROM an AK blogger, not some right-wing keyboard warrior:

I want to gently remind those who continue to tout a poll regarding TV ratings, comparing their idea of reality with the dreaded viewers of “The MSM” that most people, and particularly most young people, watch very little TV when it comes to what’s happening in the world. It’s because nowadays we use computers. Only old geezers and nuts watch TV to get their news nowadays. Wake up.

Yet in the 25-54 demo (hardly geezers) who are they watching?
Q2 Cable Ratings: FNC Dominance; Up Across the Board; 10 Top Shows. Fox News Channel continued its ratings dominance in the just concluded second quarter. Compared to Q2 ‘08 FNC is up an astonishing 33% among Total Viewers and up 44% in the A25-54 demo in Total Day (Monday-Sunday). In primetime (Monday-Friday) the numbers are even more impressive: up 35% in Total Viewers and up 54% in younger viewers. FNC is on-track to have the highest rated year in the network’s 13 year history.
In primetime, Fox News has more Total Viewers and younger viewers than MSNBC and CNN combined.
Fox News occupies the Top 10 spots on cable news among Total Viewers:
8pm - O’Reilly Factor — 3,188,000
9pm - Hannity — 2,341,000
5pm - Glenn Beck — 2,053,000
10pm - On the Record — 1,950,000
6pm - Special Report — 1,889,000
7pm - Fox Report — 1,757,000
11pm - O’Reilly Factor — 1,579,000
9am - America’s Newsroom — 1,399,000
4pm - Your World — 1,389,000
3pm - Studio B — 1,169,000
Fox News is the #3 basic cable network in primetime - behind USA and TNT. CNN is #23 and MSNBC is #25.

Sorry Gustav, I’m one of those people that believes that newspapers and liberal broadcast news are failing because they have a biased liberal agenda and a problem telling the truth. They use the internet as an excuse for their failing business models.
The numbers don’t lie! There is one station that is increasing their viewership.
July 1st, 2009 at 2:01 pm
If the MSM were doing great then Gustav would be saying that was proof that the country is approves of their message.
Gustav is an example of selective reasoning.

These attacks on Sarah Palin and her family are proof that they have a problem with Native Americans.
