The Republicans held a fundraising dinner at the Washington Convention Center last night to raise money for House and Senate campaign committees in 2010. Speaking at the event were, among others, actor Jon Voight and Newt Gingrich.
Jon Voight: Obama “False Prophet”
The fundraiser was filled with major players in the GOP. Newt Gingrich, speaking in reference to Obama’s bailout plans and deficit spending, stated that Obama has “already failed.”
Only six months into the presidency, one might argue that it is hard
gauge whether Obama’s plans have failed, but Gingrich was unequivocal in his assessment of Obama’s presidency. Many have speculated that Gingrich will run in 2012 for the GOP nomination.
Sarah Palin made an appearance at the dinner, receiving rousing applause, but did not speak.
Perhaps the most memorable words of the night came from the evening’s master of ceremonies, actor Jon Voight. One of the few conservatives in Hollywood, he pulled no punches in attacking our current president. He said that because of the Obama administration, “We are becoming a weak nation,” said Voight. Then he called Obama a “false prophet” and said the country was under “this Obama oppression.”
I wonder how the super liberal Angelina Jolie feels about her father’s political views?

Voight and his daughter have never gotten along.
I’m not one to take the scriptures literally, or even seriously at some points. Though weve seen many in history who fit the mold, H*tler etc, its still kinda creepy how Obama does fit right in with the descriptions of the false prophets and the methods of the anti christ.

Anytime I see the word “prophet” mentioned, false or otherwise, I know it will be a statement based on religion and emotion, not logic or reason. If you have used the phrase president and prophet in the same sentence, you should have your voting rights stripped.

Funny, all this time I thought the left saw Obama as the messiah. The drooling comments I hear about Obama acrosss the blogs are comprable to that any religiously fanatic zealots ramblings.
I would say that any candidate using the words “hope and change” in any sentence should be stripped period.

Voigt followed up his hosting duties by appearing on Bill O’reilly. He was a blundering, dindering sputtering idiot because he was quick to criticize and short on answers about what he would do. Why would the Republican party want a mouth piece who has no political sense to spew such rhetoric? Seems to me if you keep letting hate/fear mongers act as your spokespeople you’ll continue to be unattractive to new members/supporters and eventually reap what you sow.

There is nothing more pathetic than old lefties turned righties pontificating. Voight is a fool. Julius Caesar? Soft-spoken? He ruthlessly conquered Gaul and established the Roman Empire. And with only 5 months to show how is the stimulous package not working? Everyone but no nothing repukes knew it would take 2-3 years to make a real difference. Meanwhile there is unemployment benefit and mortgage relief.

Money has been shifted everywhere except where it was supposed to go. The AIG bailout went to Europe, stockholders are getting burned left and right, private businesses are being dictated to by the fed what is and is not appropriate conduct and pay structure. Business is being shipped off shore to avoid taxation.
Bush simply gave everyone a tax break after 911 and in no time we were on our feet again.
This guy drops 3 trillion and were in the worst shape ever.

The author Reilly comments near the very end “I wonder how Angelina Jolie gets along with her father!” It really dosen’t matter Mr. Reilly. They both have opposing political views and thats ok. Isn’t wonderful that political correctness is and should be trash. People can voice their opinions no matter how unpopular. The breakdown of people in this country is 20% liberal 40% conservative and 40% moderate. This boils down to most American’s strongly opposing to liberal views and the frustration to Bush in his last four years in office gave Obama the vote and now people are seeing what the “New Change” is and most Americans are not happy.
