Spanish magazine, El Pais has published some near woot photos of women at Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berusconi’s vacation home. The Berlusconi party pictures are creating a stir and Berlusconi says he will sue El Pais for invasion of privacy. Read about it below and see photos and a video.
Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berusconi is in deep guano again. His alleged womanizing ways just keep him in trouble, it seems. Recent rumors of an affair with an 18-year-old underwear model, Noemi Letizia, have dominated Italian news in recent weeks. That situation led to his wife, Veronica Lario, threatening to divorce him for ‘frequenting minors’.
Now, Berusconi is on the defensive again. This time he claims that his political opponents are trying to make something out of nothing in order to ruin him politically. The Spanish magazine, El Pais, has published photos of some topless women lounging around the Prime Minister’s vacation home. The women are only wearing itsy-bitsy barely there thongs.
Berusoni is furious. He says it was all perfectly innocent and the party pictures are an invasion of privacy. They were just young women brought in at his own expense to entertain while Mirek Topolanek, The Czech Prime Minister was visiting. They were photographed while relaxing and bathing in his private home. Nothing more than that!
Five of the Berlusconi party pictures have been published. They were taken at his Villa Certosa in Sardinia. All the faces are blurred except for Berlusconi’s. Juan Cruz, head of communications for El Pais, says the scandal is not the women in thongs so much as how the Italian leader is using government resources and funds. He says the photos were published as a public service, so that the people can see what controversy the Italian leader is involved in, particularly how he uses public funds. That’s why they felt the need to publish the photos just prior to the Italian elections this weekend.
Okay, whatever. There’s an election coming up and the opposition is trying to do him in. That’s politics. However, he doesn’t help his own cause by putting himself in these situations.
If Bersusoni comes through this weekend’s elections unscathed, then I will be surprised if he sues El Pais. He’ll more than likely prefer that the whole affair (so to speak) just go away. Meanwhile, people are falling all over themselves trying to get a glimpse of the Bersusoni party pictures. Nothing better than photos to get people involved in the political process. Its not hurting El Pais’ circulation a bit either.
