A group of Kindergarteners were snubbed by the Obama Administration when their tour bus arrived at the White House 10 minutes behind schedule. The group of Kindergarteners, from Stafford County Virginia, had been planning the trip to the White House for sometime; they were shut out so that the Super Bowl Champion Pittsburgh Steelers could take part in a scheduled event with President Obama.

Obama makes Kids Cry

Barack Obama

It’s going to take a long time for President Obama to live this one down; a group of Kindergarteners snubbed for the Super Bowl Champion Pittsburgh Steelers. The group from Conway Elementary School in Stafford County Virginia arrived at the White House at 10:25 am. They were supposed to be there at 10:15.

Granted, the Steelers gig with the President was for a good cause; they were making care packages for soldiers as part of the Wounded Warriors initiative. But making little kids cry, I mean really, isn’t the President supposed to be a role model for America’s youth? Aren’t 5 year old kids supposed to think that Barack Obama is the greatest thing since the invention of the X-Box?

The 150 children from Conway Elementary School will probably never look at the 44th President the same way again. Does it matter that he is not directly responsible for the scheduling conflict? Not in the eyes of a 5 year old; I know, I have one. It is after all his house, isn’t it? Couldn’t he have told the Steeler’s that they would have to wait? Barack Obama, man of the people, yeah right!

Needless to say, the group of Kindergarteners had their tiny little hearts broken right in two by the most charismatic, intelligent, and articulate leader we have ever seen. One little 5 year old said:

“We were going to the White House, but we couldn’t get in so I felt sad,” 5-year-old Cameron Stine said.

Conway Elementary teachers had been planning the trip for months, they had chartered a bus, the children had to pay $20 bucks a pop per seat; not easy to come by when you’re only 5 years old. The parents and teachers say that they tried to make it on time but their bus hit heavier than normal traffic.

In typical Obama fashion, the White House is basically calling the Kindergarteners liars; saying that the group was over an hour late and that the event with the Pittsburgh Steelers had nothing to do with shutting them out. An angry chaperone, Patty Stine summed it up this way:

“Here we have President Obama and his administration saying, ‘Here we are for the common, middle class people,’ and here he is not letting 150 5- and 6-year-olds into the White House because he’s throwing a lunch for a bunch of grown millionaires,” Stine said.

Miss Stine, I hope you have learned your lesson, 5 year olds are no match for popularity, and having your name on the back of a Steeler’s jersey is just, well, it’s just cool.
