Alaska Governor Sarah Palin announced today that she has signed a book deal with HarperCollins; Palin plans to write most of the book herself in what will be called her memoirs, and is scheduled to be released next year. Read more about this story, see photos and video below.
Governor Sarah Palin will write her memoirs for HarperCollins publishers in an undisclosed book deal scheduled for a 2010 release. Palin’s representative in the book deal, attorney Robert Barnett, said that HarperCollins was “first and fervent” in getting Sarah Palin to agree to the book deal. From the Anchorage Daily News:
“
There have been so many things written and said through mainstream media that have not been accurate, and it will be nice through an unfiltered forum to get to speak truthfully about who we are and what we stand for and what Alaska is all about,” Palin said in an interview Tuesday announcing the deal.
Neither party would disclose just how much Palin would be paid for the book deal, about that Palin said:
“The idea is to focus on the content of the book and what’s coming in terms of me being able to tell my story unrestrained and unfiltered,” Palin said.
Details of the book deal will be forthcoming when her annual financial disclosures will be made public next March. Liberals will undoubtedly say that whatever Sarah Palin is being paid to write a book is too much.
Whatever the book deal is worth, Sarah Palin is a hot commodity. HarperCollins hit a homerun when they signed the former Vice-Presidential nominee to write her memoirs. Let me make a prediction for you, Sarah Palin writes the book, it hits #1 on the New York Times Bestsellers list to the dismay of Chris Matthews and his smart mouth; and all of the MSM types out there will talk about just how inept Sarah Palin was to have landed a book deal; compared to the brilliance of Obama when he wrote “The Audacity of Hope”.
Next Sarah Palin story please, I can’t get enough of her. I love saying stuff like that because it really makes liberals blood boil.

OK, Shannon, if you ever have trouble going to sleep at night, just repeat “President Palin” over and over again until you finally drop off.
At least the aliteration is good. Newspapers should have a field day with those two Ps.
Couldn’t you find a different picture of her? That one is starting to make me a little sick.

Seems like arch is one of those that want to vomit when they see a beautiful woman that is not liberal. You can keep your Hillary poster, dude.

I like that picture arch, but just for you, the next time I do a Palin story I’ll find another picture. Deal?

OK I’ll get this out of the way: yes I would hit that. Of course. Who wouldn’t?
That said, this book will be insubstantial and vacuous: a bunch of self-aggrandizing evangelicalism. And yeah, it will sell like hotcakes.

Rhayader can now include publishing prognostication in his expanding constellation of skills. Just *uckin’ amazing.

Sorry Hondo, I didn’t realize that agreeing with the post’s author about the book’s potential for success was overly boisterous. My bad.
May 15th, 2009 at 6:21 am
Oh and just out of curiosity, what else is included in my “expanding constellation of skills”? Where are you even coming from here?
May 15th, 2009 at 7:18 am
Well Arch.
I for one hope the book has lots of pictures because I more than likely wont read it just I can reaffirm what I always knew.
Palin is a class act that any fair minded person could see was dealt nothing but crap from the media.
Her resume` and list of accomplishments speak for itself. In the face of all shes done with her life you can only get away with labeling her as “inept” “out of her league” or whatever derogatory labels were placed on her for so long without looking just hateful and spiteful.
If anything she has a very “cut and dry” and less PC approach to things which will probably always be a hinderence in her aim for higher offices. Americans have become all too accustomed to politicians who make things way more complex than they need to be due to PC regulations.
Straight shooters and doses of reality is not what Americans want in their politicians. I think weve gotten to the point that because the environment in politics we like voting for who could be the best snake as opposed to the best man for the job. This is why some are of the impression that Palin would be eaten alive by any well seasoned ( in other words crooked) politician.

sorry.
“because I more than likely wont read it just I can reaffirm what I always knew.”
should say;
because I more than likely wont read it just SO I can reaffirm what I always knew.

I MARRIED the most beautiful woman I ever saw. I was very fortunate that way.
I am sorry everyone, but I think that Sarah Palin is an idiot. My cat would be more qualified to be President of the United States than Sarah Palin. But that might not be that much of an insult, because after all, cats are pretty smart.

Gee a book by Palin! This should be good. The only thing she is an expert on is how to be an Alaskan redneck…you know…huntin’, cookin’, and birthin’ babies. I wonder if it will have a moose recipe in it.

Sparky – your comment makes it look like you are very intolerant of Alaskans and Native Alaskans (her husband and children are Natives). Isn’t there a hate speech law about saying negative things about Alaskans? Natives? Rednecks?
