Italian Prime Minister, Silvio Berlusconi says that he is the world’s most popular leader. He currently has an approval rating of 75%, some 16 points higher than even the messiah, Barack Obama. Read more, see photos and video below.

I’ve heard of arrogant, I know what it looks like, we of course have our own head of state with a messiah complex; but Silvio Berlusconi takes the cake. The Prime Minister of Italy, seems to think very highly of himself; at a May day concert in Naples, Berlusconi boasted about his approval rating of over 75%. From Reuters:

“The opinion polls I know say that he (Obama) is at 59 percent. Only (Brazilian President Luiz Inacio) Lula tops 60 percent — he is at 64 percent. So mine is a record high,” he told reporters in Naples where he attended a May Day concert.

Most pundits agree that Silvio Berlusconi is a very popular figure in Italy, despite the economic crisis. Italy is expected to have an economy that will shrink by just over 4% this year. Even left leaning media outlets had his approval rating at 56% thanks to his hands on response to a massive earthquake there.

Silvio Berlusconi has complained about unfair media treatment despite having control of about 90% of the media in Italy. Silvio Berlusconi once compared himself to Jesus Christ and said that he was as popular as Napoleon, only taller.

If Silvio Berlusconi is the most popular world leader, where does that leave Mr. Obama? I mean really, isn’t he the savior of the world? Didn’t everything change when he was elected back in October? I guess somebody forgot to tell Silvio Berlusconi.
