In honor of Barack Obama’s 100th day in office, an artist has painted what is just one more rendering of Obama as Jesus Christ complete with crown of thorns. ‘The Truth’ will be unveiled on April 29th in Union Square in New York City. Read more about it below, see photos and watch a video.
No, it’s not some clever blogger’s photoshop or cartoon. It’s a real painting by artist Michael D’Antuono and it’s called ‘The Truth’ in honor of Barack Obama’s first 100 days in office.
The acrylic painting depicts The One appearing much like Jesus Christ on the Cross with a crown of thorns on his head. He is opening the curtain (much like biblical symbolism of ‘the curtain ripping’ at the crucifixion) revealing the Presidential Seal.
The popular artist, insists he isn’t claiming The One is Messiah, but only inviting ‘individual interpretations’ of his painting. And he generally paints non-political subjects, but felt the need to make a statement.
“Aided by the media, politics has taken a nasty turn in the last decade and I firmly believe that this is one of the underlying causes of our nation’s current problems.”
Once on display in Union Square, the painting will be seen by one viewer at a time behind a voting booth-inspired set up. Kitschy!
Some are saying this painting is controversial. But we’ve seen all this messiah-worship before. This is nothing new except for the fact The One has a flag pin on this time. heh.
As in the days before the election and leading up to the inauguration, the media is again ramping up the worshipping of Obama. Case in point: Time’s gooey review of The One’s first 100 Days.
“The most important thing we now know about Barack Obama, after nearly 100 days in office, is that he means to confront that way of life directly and profoundly, to exchange sand for rock if he can. Whether you agree with him or not — whether you think he is too ambitious or just plain wrong — his is as serious and challenging a presidency as we have had in quite some time . . .
(…)
Perhaps Obama’s most dramatic departure from the recent past is his public presence: cool where George W. Bush seemed hot, fluent where Bush seemed tongue-tied, palliative rather than hortative. Bush would never admit a mistake, but Obama said the words plainly — ‘I made a mistake’ — when his appointment of Tom Daschle as health-care czar tanked, one of the few significant setbacks during his time in office.”
Yes, it IS a mildly amusing article full of fluffly phrases to make Obama sound quite extraordinary. But as you can see, they simply can’t praise The One without beating up former President George W. Bush. Pathetic really.
Update: Artist Michael D’Antuono has cancelled the planned public unveiling of his latest work “The Truth” at NYC’s Union Square Park on The One’s 100th day in office due to overwhelming public outrage. The artist’s decision was based in part to the thousands of emails and phone calls; online blogs and other public commentary received in the first 48 hours following its release.
More photos and a video of ‘Obama as Jesus Christ’ are below.

Did bushw do the US any great favors during his reign? Name them. I think the money towards african aids is the only positive thing I can think of right now, but it was still on a small scale compared to what we could have done. millions versus billions. Can you give a list of the good things? Not the sound bites about ever child left behind, but about real program successes?
April 25th, 2009 at 10:57 pm
Brian, you are off topic. Posts about economic prosperity and national security are elsewhere. This post is about a messiah complex that afflicts the current president. What are your thoughts?
April 25th, 2009 at 11:41 pm
McCain,
it is unlikely Brian has an opinion, and even less likely he would share it if he did

“But as you can see, they simply can’t praise The One without beating up former President George W. Bush. Pathetic really.”
Well, maybe if Cheney and Rove would take Geo. Bush’s advice and SHUT UP, no one would have to mention the past eight years. But it is kind of hard not to when you have it shoved in your face over and over again every day by Fox, et. al., which, by the way, IS unprecendented, just like the young lady said.
Your the one with the complex, MCCAIN.
April 26th, 2009 at 1:20 am
my opinion is you’re suffering from wounded narcissim your man isn’t in office, rather than just see it as switch in the political winds after trying 8 years the bush way which did nothing but perpetuate the old system of the big boys rule. You feel entitled. But worse is the arrogance that somehow only you guys have the same ole worn out answers that just aren’t going to work today. But then you insist that its for me to defend to the dems so your playing the same old boring two party game. I have completely lost faith in the republican party as their world view, intelligence, and integrity has jumped in the dumpster. I am tired of being forced to play the dem role when in fact I would have never given tarp money to the big banks, aig, or gm and chrysler as it would have been a waste as its generally proving out to be. It also would have checked federal power from taking over so much in so short a time. The truth is our private enterprise too big to fail model failed and became a national liability, so I can see logically why the gov got so involved. Things were crashing. McCain the politician’s biggest problem is he had no coherent policy view, just ad hoc answers to the vexing problem of the day. You guys really haven’t thought out the depths of the problems or the huge challenge they pose to both our form of government and our concept of how to be governed. Big capitalism failed, plain and simple. Now we are trying to patch that huge tire up again and its not working so well. The shadow banking system grew and grew till where it took so much out of the system’s wealth it cracked its rims and had to pull off the road. Our country was stolen from us by a bunch of lying manipulating actors right at the time our public leadership pushed us into two open wars and several proxy wars(lebanon, darfur, somalia, yemen,) and positioned us for two more wars(north korea, and iran). We have had a massive failure of american leadership, private and public and its only now that we are trying to put together a new government that the right republicans so want to beat up on obama. The government is single handedly trying to save us, the world, and its gonna cost a lot of big time money. Now is it the governments fault for trying to save us from our broken machine? Is it obama’s fault? Could you imagine how hard a time McCain’s cabinet would be having right now if they were in power? Pushed to ideological purity the republican light bulbs glow dimmer and dimmer as they bring no fresh energy or solutions. So team obama is trying its best. I don’t think people realize how badly our system failed. Capitalism on the small scale is good, but on the grand scale can turn right into a socializm where it controls the strings of the state. Monopolistic capitalism is dangerous left to its own devices. So obama is going to have to really think wide on the issues to put in place a new regieme that works. remember domestically bush did very little, nothing really. You guys can’t even enumerate the top things he did. Now obama is going to have to make up for lost time and its going to seem like a lot. So I don’t get how you get to making fun of him for trying to fix a mess your ideology mostly made in the first place. Do you see there is a meanness in you?
April 26th, 2009 at 7:20 am
The messiah complex is something that Obama had projected onto him. I am not sure if he is really that arrogant or just a product of the environment the media’s obsession has created. His following is cult like. The same people who did nothing but attack a President for 8 years (and still continue to do so) feel that no one should be able to disagree with or attack their President. We all have to give him a chance, when they did not give Bush a chance. We all are supposed to compromise our principles when they did not compromise theirs.
It will be interesting to watch when the biased media has to answer for their complete lack of ability to do their jobs correctly. The freedom of speech was given so that the media would be the one voice to keep the government in check. By creating a messiah image of Obama, they have failed us and failed our founding fathers.
April 26th, 2009 at 7:20 am
“Do you see there is a meanness in you?”
Yes, and its quite appropriate for us carry that meanness in the current environment when we are subjected daily to a good man being constantly used a elevating prop for an overextended Johnson of a president who got where hes at by milking the meanness the left had been wallowing in for 8 years.
You guys are tools, useful idiots, and you cant see that. Obama new exactly what to tap into in order to win an election and you guys just played along like bunch of deranged lemmings and followed the piper all the way to the polls so you place your “anti Bush” votes the whole time being oblivious to what you were actually voting for.
There are no real concrete occurances or accomplishments for this this man to speak of that place him anywhere near the caliber of George Bush.
Now you’re all starting to realize just what you went and stuck your hateful little rumps with as you see him for what he really is. A lying disengenuous snake who’ll say anything and do anything to carry out the agenda you were all so unaware of 4 months ago.
If any of you actually did confront him on his broken promises and revelations you would inadvertantly being admitting failure on your part and we know you’re all to damn arroagnt and proud to let that happen so instead what we’ll see for the next 4 years is a bunch of Peewee Hermans wrecking their bicycles only to get up with their feigned pride and say “I meant to do that ” in order to try and look as if all this crap that deep down is freaking you out is what you expected all along.
You morons come in two categories.
One category is genuinley pi$$ed at what he has done an are activley voicing their dismay at the flips and flops and changes of policies that they were promised while at the same time expressing that some of this spending you did expect but not at the }}}}INSANE{{{{ levels that we see now.
The other categaory are the mindless puppets like this artist who in the face of all the bullsh*t weve witnessed continue to do everything they can to keep their “wounded narcissisim” from being completely obliterated by casting images of fake idols in hopes it will pacify them enough to make it through the next 4 years.
—————–
“You guys can’t even enumerate the top things he did. ”
Brian, as obnoxious as it might be, I’m going to post the entire “enumeration” instead of the link itself.
That way you have to see it in all its glory, its really quite extensive.

Character & Conduct as President
Changed the tone in the White House, restoring HONOR and DIGNITY to the presidency.
Has reintroduced the mention of God and faith into public discourse.
Handled himself with enormous courage, dignity, grace, determination, and leadership in the aftermath of the September 11, 2001 hijackings and anthrax attacks. He almost single-handedly held this country together during those searing days:
Just three days after the attacks, in his address at the National Cathedral, the President reassured the nation when he said: “War has been waged against us by stealth and deceit and murder. This nation is peaceful, but fierce when stirred to anger. This conflict was begun on the timing and terms of others. It will end in a way, and at an hour, of our choosing.”
On Friday, September 14, 2001, President Bush visited Ground Zero. Standing on a crushed and burned fire engine atop the smoldering pile at Ground Zero, he put his arm around a retired firefighter who had volunteered to help, and began speaking to the crowd. Rescue workers shouted that they could not hear him. Someone handed him a small American flag and bullhorn. The President spontaneously shouted: “I can hear you. The rest of the world hears you. And the people who knocked these buildings down will hear all of us soon.” The crowd roared with cheers and chants of “USA! USA! USA!” Then he raised that American flag and rallied a nation:
Education & Employment Training
Signed the No Child Left Behind Act, delivering the most dramatic education reforms in a generation (challenging the soft bigotry of low expectations). The very liberal California Teachers union is currently running radio ads against the accountability provisions of this Act.
Announced “Jobs for the 21st Century,” a comprehensive plan to better prepare workers for jobs in the new millennium by strengthening post-secondary education and job training, and by improving high school education.
Is working to provide vouchers to low-income students in persistently failing schools to help with costs of attending private schools. (Blocked in the Senate.)

Established a $10 million grant program to promote private conservation initiatives.
Significantly eased field-testing controls of genetically engineered crops.
Changed parts of the Forestry Management Act to allow necessary cleanup of the national forests in order to reduce fire danger.
Part of national forests cleanup: Restricted judicial challenges (based on the Endangered Species Act and other challenges), and removed the need for an Environmental Impact Statement before removing fuels/logging to reduce fire danger.
Killed Clinton’s CO2 rules that were choking off all of the electricity surplus to California.
Provided matching grants for state programs that help private landowners protect rare species.
Defense & Foreign Policy
Successfully executed two wars in the aftermath of 9/11/01: Afghanistan and Iraq. 50 million people who had lived under tyrannical regimes now live in freedom.
Saddam Hussein is now in prison. His two murderous sons are dead. All but a handful of the regime’s senior members were killed or captured.
Leader by leader and member by member, al Qaida is being hunted down in dozens of countries around the world. Of the senior al Qaida leaders, operational managers, and key facilitators the U.S. Government has been tracking, nearly two-thirds have been taken into custody or killed. The detentions or deaths of senior al Qaida leaders, including Khalid Shaykh Muhammad, the mastermind of 9/11, and Muhammad Atef, Osama bin Laden’s second-in-command until his death in late 2001, have been important in the War on Terror.
Disarmed Libya of its chemical, nuclear and biological WMD’s without bribes or bloodshed.
Continues to execute the War On Terror, getting worldwide cooperation to track funds/terrorists. Has cut off much of the terrorists’ funding, and captured or killed many key leaders of the al Qaeda network.
Initiated a comprehensive review of our military, which was completed just prior to 9/11/01, and which accurately reported that ASYMMETRICAL WARFARE capabilities were critical in the 21st Century.
Killed the old US/Soviet Union ABM Treaty that was preventing the U.S. from deploying our ABM defenses.
Has been one of the strongest, if not THE strongest friend Israel has ever hand in the U.S. presidency.
Part of the coalition for an Israeli/Palestinian “Roadmap to Peace,” along with Great Britain, Russia and the EU.
Pushed through THREE raises for our military. Increased military pay by more than $1 billion a year.

Is working to tighten restrictions on military-technology exports.
Brought back our EP-3 intel plane and crew from China without any bribes or bloodshed.
Globalization & Internationalism
Challenged the United Nations to live up to their responsibilities and not become another League of Nations (in other words, showed the UN to be completely irrelevant).
Killed U.S. involvement in the International Criminal Court.
Told the United Nations we weren’t interested in their plans for gun control (i.e., the International Ban on Small Arms Trafficking Treaty).*
The only President since the founding of the UN to essentially tell that organization it is irrelevant. He said: “The conduct of the Iraqi regime is a threat to the authority of the United Nations, and a threat to peace. Iraq has answered a decade of UN demands with a decade of defiance. All the world now faces a test, and the United Nations a difficult and defining moment. Are Security Council resolutions to be honored and enforced, or cast aside without consequence? Will the United Nations serve the purpose of its founding, or will it be irrelevant?” We all know the outcome and the answer.
Told the Congress and the world, “America will never seek a permission slip to defend the security of our country.”
Government Reform
Improved government efficiency by putting hundreds of thousands of jobs put up for bid. This weakens public-sector unions and cuts undeserved pay raises.
Initiated review of all federal agencies with the goal of eliminating federal jobs (completed September 2003) in an effort to reduce the size of the federal government while increasing private sector jobs.
Led the most extensive reorganization the Federal bureaucracy in over 50 years: After 9/11, condensed 20+ overlapping agencies and their intelligence sectors into one agency, the Department of Homeland Security.*
Ordered each agency to draft a five-year plan to restructure itself, with fewer managers.
Converted federal service contracts to performance-based contracts wherever possible so that the contractor has measurable performance goals.
Health
Strengthen the National Health Service Corps to put more physicians in the neediest areas, and make its scholarship funds tax-free.
Double the research budget of the National Institutes of Health.
Signed Medicare Reform, which includes:
A 10-year privatization option.
Prescription drug benefits: Prior to this reform, Medicare paid for extended hospital stays for ulcer surgery, for example, at a cost of about $28,000 per patient. Yet Medicare would not pay for the drugs that eliminate the cause of most ulcers, drugs that cost about $500 a year. Now, drug coverage under Medicare will allow seniors to replace more expensive surgeries and hospitalizations with less expensive prescription medicine.
More health care choices: As President Bush stated, “…when seniors have the ability to make choices, health care plans within Medicare will have to compete for their business by offering higher quality service [at lower cost]. For the seniors of America, more choices and more control will mean better health care. These are the kinds of health care options we give to the members of Congress and federal employees. What’s good for members of Congress is also good for seniors.
New Health Savings Accounts: Effective January 1, 2004, Americans can set aside up to $4,500 every year, tax free, to save for medical expenses. Depending on your tax bracket, that means you’ll save between 10 to 35 percent on any costs covered by money in your account. Every year, the money not spent would stay in the account and gain interest tax-free, just like an IRA. These accounts will be good for small business owners, and employees. More businesses can focus on covering workers for major medical problems, such as hospitalization for an injury or illness. At the same time, employees and their families will use these accounts to cover doctors visits, or lab tests, or other smaller costs. Some employers will contribute to employee health accounts. This will help more American families get the health care they need at the price they can afford.
Homeland Security, Border Enforcement & Immigration
*See Government Reform above. Under President Bush’s leadership, America has made an unprecedented commitment to homeland security.
Has CONSTRUCTION in process on the first 10 ABM silos in Alaska so that America will have a defense against North Korean nukes. Has ordered national and theater ballistic missile defenses to be deployed by 2004.
Announced a 9.7% increase in government-wide homeland security funding in his FY 2005 budget, nearly tripling the FY 2001 levels (excluding the Department of Defense and Project BioShield).
Before DHS was created, there were inspectors from three different agencies of the Federal Government and Border Patrol officers protecting our borders. Through DHS, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) now consolidates all border activities into a single agency to create “one face at the border.” This not only better secures the borders of the United States, but it also eliminates many of the inefficiencies that occurred under the old system. With over 18,000 CBP inspectors and 11,000 Border Patrol agents, CBP has 29,000 uniformed officers on our borders.
The Border Patrol is continuing installation of monitoring devices along the borders to detect illegal activity.
Launched Operation Tarmac to investigate businesses and workers in the secure areas of domestic airports and ensure immigration law compliance. Since 9/11, DHS has audited 3,640 businesses, examined 259,037 employee records, arrested 1,030 unauthorized workers, and participated in the criminal indictment of 774 individuals.
Since September 11, 2001, the Coast Guard has conducted more than 124,000 port security patrols, 13,000 air patrols, boarded more than 92,000 vessels, interdicted over 14,000 individuals attempting to enter the United States illegally, and created and maintained more than 90 Maritime Security Zones.
Announced the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS), an internet-based system that is improving America’s ability to track and monitor foreign students and exchange visitors. Over 870,000 students are registered in SEVIS. Of 285 completed field investigations, 71 aliens were arrested.
This week, the US-VISIT program began to digitally collect biometric identifiers to record the entry and exit of aliens who travel into the U.S on a visa. Together with the standard information, this new program will confirm compliance with visa and immigration policies.
Eliminated INS bureaucratic redundancies and lack of accountability.
Split the Immigration and Naturalization Service into two agencies: one to protect the border and interior, the other to deal with naturalization.
Signed the workplace verification bill to prevent hiring of illegal aliens.
Established a six-month deadline for processing immigration applications.
Information regarding nearly 100% of all containerized cargo is carefully screened by DHS before it arrives in the United States. Higher risk shipments are physically inspected for terrorist weapons and contraband prior to being released from the port of entry. Advanced technologies are being deployed to identify warning signs of chemical, biological, or radiological attacks. Since September 11, 2001, hundreds of thousands of first responders across America have been trained to recognize and respond to the effects of a WMD attack.
Judiciary & Tort Reform
Is urging federal liability reform to eliminate frivolous lawsuits.
Killed the liberal ABA’s unconstitutional role in vetting federal judges. The Senate is supposed to advise and consent, not the ABA.
Is nominating strong, conservative judges to the judiciary.
Supports class action reform bill which limits lawyer fees so that more settlement money goes to victims.
Politics
His leadership resulted in Republican gains in the House and Senate, solidifying Republican control of both houses of Congress and the presidency.
Signed an EO enforcing the Supreme Court’s Beck decision regarding union dues being used for political campaigns against individual’s wishes.
Second Amendment
Ordered Attorney General Ashcroft to formally notify the Supreme Court that the OFFICIAL U.S. government position on the 2nd Amendment is that it supports INDIVIDUAL rights to own firearms, and is NOT a Leftist-imagined “collective” right.
Signed TWO bills into law that arm our pilots with handguns in the cockpit.
Currently pushing for full immunity from lawsuits for our national gun manufacturers.
*See Globalization & Internationalism.
Traditional Values, Compassion & Volunteerism
Endorses and promotes “The Responsibility Era.” President Bush often speaks of the necessity of personal responsibility and civic volunteerism. He said, “In a compassionate society, people respect one another and take responsibility for the decisions they make in life. My hope is to change the culture from one that has said, if it feels good, do it; if you’ve got a problem, blame somebody else — to one in which every single American understands that he or she is responsible for the decisions that you make; you’re responsible for loving your children with all your heart and all your soul; you’re responsible for being involved with the quality of the education of your children; you’re responsible for making sure the community in which you live is safe; you’re responsible for loving your neighbor, just like you would like to be loved yourself.”
Started the USA Freedom Corps, the most comprehensive clearinghouse of volunteer opportunities ever offered. For the first time in history, Americans can enter geographic information about where they want to get involved, such as state or zip code, as well as areas of interest ranging from education to the environment, and they can access volunteer opportunities offered by more than 50,000 organizations across the country and around the world.
Established the The White House Office and the Centers for the Faith-Based and Community Initiative — located in seven Federal agencies. The faith-based initiative supports the essential work of these important organizations. The goal is to make sure that grassroots leaders can compete on an equal footing for federal dollars, receive greater private support, and face fewer bureaucratic barriers. Work focuses on at-risk youth, ex-offenders, the homeless and hungry, substance abusers, those with HIV/AIDS, and welfare-to-work families.
The White House released a guidebook fully describing the Administration’s belief that faith-based groups have a Constitutionally-protected right to maintain their religious identity through hiring — even when Federal funds are involved.
Issued an EO implementing the Supreme Court’s Olmstead ruling, which requires moving disabled people from institutions to community-based facilities when possible.
Increased funding for low-interest loan programs to help people with disabilities purchase devices to assist them.
Revised the Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Section 8 rent subsidies to disabled people, permitting them to use up to a year’s worth of vouchers to finance down payments on homes. HUD has started pilot programs in 11 states.
Committed US funds to purchase medicine for millions of men, women and children now suffering with AIDS in Africa.
Heeding the words of our own Declaration of Independence, the president laid out the non-negotiable demands of human dignity for all people everywhere. On January 29, 2002, he said, “No nation owns these aspirations, and no nation is exempt from them. We have no intention of imposing our culture. But America will always stand firm for the non-negotiable demands of human dignity.” As stated by the President, they are a virtual manifesto of conservative principles:
While most of these accomplishments are not what you and liberals would consider positive thats not the point.
The point is that the man didnt get in front of a camera everytime he wiped his a$$ and brag to the whole country about it so its only to be expected his humbleness would leave one to actually have to look past bells and whistles to see what hes done

You could argue the media’s job is to serve
their corporate masters. that means maximize eyeball time by stirring up the peasants and pushing them into convienent disagreeing camps that can easily be accessed and managed and sold advertising goods. This constant oppositional arguments between the so called right and left is a total construct. Its a very testosterone and adrenalin way of looking at the world and often brings out the worst type of policys. by framing obama as a red flag for the right they ensure keeping eyeballs glued to their advertisers. Journalism has degenerated to a mere advertising platorm where companys, even governments, can buy or pry eyeball time from them to get their message out. Or you can ignore the news and just read the billboards on the highway. You won’t be much less informed on the real nature of what is going on.
April 26th, 2009 at 8:24 am
This Obamadolatry is a repeat of the golden cow syndrome when the nation forgot who had made them something when they had been nothing. And to nothingness we are heading fast, albeit happy with our idol… May God have mercy on our nation.
April 26th, 2009 at 11:09 am
OH NOES!!!! Why is the MSM ignoring this important story and focusing on some piddly worldwide pandemic?! Another example of the liberal media with their screwed up priorities. I mean, here we have an ARTIST who painted a PICTURE of a president as JESUS?!! A feat no one has ever thought of before! Why isn’t this on the front page of the NYTimes above the fold?
April 26th, 2009 at 1:11 pm
“This constant oppositional arguments between the so called right and left is a total construct. ”
Then stop this bullsh*t that G W Bushs accomplishments are so little they cant be numerated and you’ll probably hear less of it.
You guys sound like idiots when you say that and only propell the same sh*t you’re b*tching about.
With all the far left crap Obama is tossing into the ring right now I’m surprised it hasnt come to more than just a construct.
I am bias, I like the conseravtive ideology,I dont like liberalism, get used to it, get over it, and please dont run off a shpeel about how the partys not what it used to be and bla bla bla.
Bush still held more of the principles I adhere to more than any dem in the last 50 years and he deserves and will get my respect and backing every chance I get in the face of disengenuous statements like the one you ran off.
——–
Name required.
I would love for this to be exposed as you say.
Its about time the country be able to see just what kind of nutcases support this guy.
If we could get the country to see just what a mindless following it is we could probably save more lives than the virus will ever take.
Thats for damn sure !
April 26th, 2009 at 1:20 pm
If you have read the bible Jesus says many will come in my name. Many will claim to be me. Believe in the Bible or not, this is happening. How ironic that there is so much art work depicting Obama as Christ. Fortunately, I know who my savior is and who it is not. There is only one way and one truth. If you are looking to Obama for salvation, Beware of false idols.
April 26th, 2009 at 7:55 pm
George Bush has more class and integrity in his little finger than Obama will ever have. It is very telling that the only way Obama can build himself up is by tearing Bush down. And his supporters are the same way. He is one of the most self-centered politicians I’ve ever seen – without the common sense to try to hide it. He doesn’t realize how ridiculous some of his words are. And yet, I regularly watch as CNN anchors practically drool as they praise him.
I find it amusing that Obama has already broken so many campaign promises, has made gaffe after gaffe since he’s been in office, and yet all that is virtually ignored by the press. And Obama’s followers are so emotionally invested in him that they can’t see the truth. The emperor has no clothes, but the left is afraid to face that truth.

And all the “Obama as Christ” paintings/drawings/artwork are clear examples of how out of touch Obama worshippers are. It is really quite funny. I will enjoy watching as they learn the importance of truly vetting a candidate and not basing their vote on emotion alone.

obama is more about the team, or team obama. bush had a particularly weak cabinet that even looked like dorky ideologues and were constantly self censuring themselves to where you really understood the bush-team relationship to the boss. Obama listens to his team and wants information pushed to him, versus bush who was out of the loop and dictated down to his team. That is why so many of them were asleep at the regulatory switch or afraid to speak up. Read Paul O Neil’s book. Team obama seems a lot less afraid of the boss and his handlers which is nice for a change. Bush spun the truth so badly on so many issues that I could see right through what he was saying after awhile and he way overplayed the fear card on people. I think obama gets it as does his team of what is at stake on the many troubling levels. bushw never did. Neither is perfect, but I do believe team obama is listening carefully to the people.

Yea Brain, that relationship between Obamas cabinet and his crew seems to be producing some real bang up results doesnt it ?
I’ve never seen a more clueless bunch of Keystone cops in my life get almost nothing done and screw up more than half of everything they touch, they’re mostly tax cheats, old Clinton clingons, lobbyists he said he wouldnt hire, and mostly underqualified no matter what position they hold.
Good God, Napolitano doesnt know the first thing about homeland security or how to issue a report without pi$ing off more than half the country, Geithner cant put 2n2 together, Biden ? WTF does he do besides say stupid sh*t ? His press secretary puts more reporters to sleep than any previous one ever has and is frustrating as hell in that he cant ever give a clear answer.
And no, I reject that theres this fluid relationship among Obamas cabinet and everything is delegated evenly, that theres a common mutual bond and they’re not afraid of him. What we see happening is whenever theres a policy to be announced or some action to come from a certain dept instead of the head of that dept making the announcement it always seems to be OBama thats taking the platform and soaking up the credit for everything that happens. Unless for example its a case where multiple apologies are needed in less than a week by someone like Napolitano.
But yea, if theres any sense of ease around Obama and whithin his cabinet its obviously because a higher standard along with performance and results are not a pre requisite for maintaining ones employment.
“but I do believe team obama is listening carefully to the people.”
Only the people that think like you believe this.
Heres a flash for you.
The AP even projects this bulls*t assertion like you that most think the countys headed the right way but then the results in their own poll asking this contradicts the story the expect us to swallow.
Like you they just LIED to us and then like idiots cast a poll thast proved it. Yet they still left the story up hoping more like you would eat this sh*t up while maybe hoping none of you would actually go to see what the American people are really saying.
Whats wrong with this picture ?
AP prints a story saying; “For the first time in years, more Americans than not say the country is headed in the right direction”
And then I go to look at the poll results and this is what we get
Do you think the country is headed in the right direction?
No 58%
Yes 42%
You morons are being hustled all the way around, from the horses mouth and his a$$ (the media)

I’m not a big Obama guy. I did vote for him, mainly because his stance on drug prohibition seemed encouraging. Of course, he is backpedaling from those statements as quickly as possible. Not that I had any reason to vote for McCain though, so whatever. That’s what American politics has been reduced to.
Of course, this is just a painting from an artist. I’m not going to sit here and be offended that many people (including this artist) hold him in high regard. They have as much a right to like him as I have to dislike him.

Hah, I know Kate, such is my burden. I guess we can’t all be happy fools.
Gotta go, I got an email from a Nigerian prince promising a hefty payback if I just help him out a little with an accounting technicality….

Being placed next to a messiah puts an awful lot of demands on a guy.
If I were Obama I’d tell everyone to knock off the messiah thing already.
Whether you believe in God or not is irrelevant. Regardless Jesus still carried some of the best teachings the world will ever hear and its an insult to place an ordinary man such as Obama in the same park as him, or to suggest that somehow he’ll save the world when he cant even save his own country never mind his own a$$. Hes actually making things alot worse to the point if I were at the same level of lunacy I’d say hes the anti Christ.
Also I would not want to be the victim of such high expectations. The higher these weirdos elevate him the further they’ll crash when they finally see hes no different than most of us.

This painting is ridiculous. Obama being compared to Jesus, come on. Number one the only people who would be offended by it are Christians. The painting doesn’t have any affect on people other than Christians. If the comparison is to say Obama is like Christ then only a Christian would get this because Christ is only important to Christians.
I think it’s a dumb comparison. To say that Obama is like someone who claimed to be the Son of God and the followers claim that he died for the sins of the who world is really retarded.
This painting was done just to piss Christians off. Christ is only a Messiah to the Christians. To anyone else he would just be a crazy guy. So why compare Obama to someone that most people don’t believe in. Dumb Dumb Dumb

I’ll list some things wrong with this picture even if you aren’t a christian or a theist you still must agree with these points
1 Jesus loved his people and died for them Obama calls us arrogant has Jesus ever called us arragont… NO!
2 Jesus suffered for us Obama has done no suffering the media coasted him through the election.
3 Obama is a sinner Jesus is not
4 Obama wants to be kind to the terrorists who call us infidels and in their holy book koron say that we should be kill (jihad) Jesus called the isralites to a war against these people many years ago. The isralites won the war but let the women and children go free.
5 Obama is going to hell and not going to be with Jesus in heaven so suck Barrack!

@Grant: even if you aren’t a christian or a theist you still must agree with these points
Ummm, how exactly is that true? Every one of your points rests directly on a belief in Jesus, his divinity, the narrative of the Bible, and/or the notion of “sin”.
Those of us who don’t believe in those things “must” agree with them? Yeah I’m not buying that one.
