Marcus Luttrell is the lone survivor of Operation Red Wing; a special forces operation that took place on June 28th 2005 in Afghanistan’s Kunar province. The seals mission was to kill or capture Ahmad Shah, a high ranking Taliban official responsible for numerous killings in the region. Marcus Luttrell and three of his seal team members were ambushed by 150 Taliban fighters with Luttrell being the only survivor.
A failed attempt by Special Forces helicopters to recover Marcus Luttrell led to the death of 16 more special forces soldiers; Marcus Luttrell was hidden from the Taliban by locals who eventually sent word to the army where they could rescue him. He wrote the bestselling book “Lone Survivor”, detailing Operation Red Wing and telling the story of his fallen seal team.
Talk Radio host Glen Beck has been a good friend of Marcus Luttrell for a few years now detailing his story and promoting his book when it first came out. Luttrell has done numerous radio and television interviews with Glen Beck, he will do another tonight at 5 pm. Eastern. This post will be updated to reflect the content of his upcoming interview as soon as it is available.
It seems that four young good for nothings had been killing dogs in Marcus Luttrell’s county where he lives in Texas. And as terrible luck would have it ( terrible luck for them), the last dog they decided to kill belonged to Marcus Luttrell. As Glen Beck tells the story on his radio program this morning, these thugs should be thanking God that Marcus Luttrell knew how to show restraint when he single handedly, armed of course, apprehended the four.
Marcus Luttrell’s dog was named Dasy; each letter in DASY represents his fallen seal team member’s names. He was given the dog during his recovery period after sustaining horrific wounds that none of us could ever imagine. Marcus Luttrell was awarded the “Navy Cross” and the “Purple Heart” for his heroic actions in Operation Red Wing.

It’s me again..just read Don Williams remark, just remember Don, Dog spelled backwards is God…can’t get more special than that!! Every member of my family has Marcus in our prayers & we all feel these punks should be sent to Afghanistan & see and feel some of what Mr. Luttrell went through….and Don get your head out of your ass, you should be thanking Marcus & every other REAL man for protecting your right to be a fool!!!

I am deeply saddened about what happened to Dasy and Mr. Luttrell. I have two of my own dogs and if someone ever hurt them I don’t think I could refrain myself from killing them. Mr. Luttrell has shown his heroism before and he did again when he didn’t blow those son of B’s away. I hope they get their butts thrown in jail for the maximum time and hopefully get tortured alot while they are there. They will pay for what they did, they are complete losers and don’t have the right to be in society!! RIP DASY!

I really hope that somebody near these guys will do the right thing and kill these losers, hopefully very soon.
Death to Michael Edmunds and Alfonso Hernandes. The justice system is not prepared for cases like these, a few years in jail is NOT justice for killers caught RED HANDED.

Marcus represents the very best this nation has. This scum should be killed. Period. Why do we tolerate evil like this? Prison? Why should you work hard and take part of your pay check to pay to house and feed scum? Predators of society need to be killed. No repeat offenders possible. Do you really think people like this can be reformed? And who cares if they can. Kill them, hang ‘em high!

Hang in there Marcus. As a veteran I feel your pain. Daisy was not only your friend she was your therapy. You have suffered enough loss with your buddies in the war, now the loss of your dog is terrible. Time heals all. I am so glad you used restraint on those dirt bags and the cops who gave you a hard time, they are lucky to be alive. I would have hated to see a hero like you get locked up for doing the right thing.

I read the Lone Survivor in just a matter of days! I could not put the book down! I am amazed by Marcus and his team of friends! I am grateful for their service to our country! Marcus is a living breathing miracle! I can not believe this happened to DASY, I’m so sorry for your loss! If anyone deserves to live the rest of their life happy and in total peace, it is Marcus!

marcus luttrell was in cincinnati on may 12th. only two miles from my house and i did not know he was here! i would have been there to see him for sure! cincnnati library..

I read your book and it moved me to see the soul of the US, as I know it and love it, still strong and fighting towards high ideals. God not only gave you your gun everytime you fell, but a great mission to motivate and insipre Americans to fight for the ideals they believe are dying! Thank you! I keep looking for one particular item in this story I have yet to come across. Dasy wasn’t just someone’s puppy. Look at the reason Marcus had Dasy. Dasy was US govt property. These scumbags didn’t just murder a dog for fun, it’s called “destruction of government property”. After the state of Texas gets done with them, it should be time they acquainted with the FEDERAL justice system.
