In anticipation of the democrats taking over the House and Senate in January, pro-illegal immigration groups are holding meetings across the country to come up with a strategy to win amnesty for the 12 to 30 illegal aliens that live among us, repeal the Secure Fence Act, and increase the number of visas issued to foreigners.
Douche bag activist and civil rights gangster, Armando Navarro (coordinator of the National Alliance for Human Rights), said in an interview with some insignificant AP reporter, “We’re not taking it like the democrats are a panacea for immigration reform, but if they hope to capture the White House in 2008, they better listen to us. Other pro-illegal immigration groups even plan to send illegal immigrants to Washington to lobby Congressional members directly. I wonder if any of them will want to visit the ICE office at the Capitol building while they are touring D.C.?
During the run-up to the midterm elections the democrats sold their soles to the Hispanic voting block, and now a long list of various workers unions and pro-illegal immigration groups are looking toward the Democratic Party to produce some favorable legislation. Now the democrats have to either cave in to pressure from the so called civil rights groups, or abandon them. With that said, the republicans of the 109th Congress didn’t make any real progress on the illegal immigration problem either.
Let’s face it, Congressional backpedaling and presidential inaction on the illegal immigration issue has done nothing but stoke the fires of the pro-illegal immigration groups. The unwillingness of our leaders to attack the illegal immigration issue head on is not only disgraceful, but it is inexcusable. True immigration reform should be a top priority for the 110th Congress instead of a back burner issue that is only brought to the table whenever one of the political parties has figured out how to use it to score some points with political organizations and special interest groups on both sides of the issue.

Righto. What do you think the odds are on this?

Amnesty is a done deal. The dems are beholding to the minorities, and the repubs will bend over backwards to get some of those votes.
This is one of the problems with having so many so-called moderates in the party now.
I say so-called because a lot of the republicans tagged with the title moderate are just plain old liberals.

Well, this moderate is against amnesty. I think we need to start over completely. All illegals should be deported. This is probably not feasible but we should try anyway.
The fence is necessary but we need to improve the technology around border control. We already have it (drone planes, sensitive security alarms etc..), we just have to use it. Then we should pressure the Mexican Gov into developing a guest worker program where they are fully vetted. It is better for them and us in the end. By being “above the table”, they will not be abused by the employers like many of them are now, and we will not be letting in as many criminals and terrorists. Right now, they are taking control of our country and we don’t even realize it.
This is a moderate who is for a strong border patrol and illegal alien policy. We may need them for our economy but not bad enough to sacrifice our economcy especially when alternatives exist.

“economcy” should be security. Typing way too fast.

I appreciate your input Mdefl, and I just want to make clear that I don’t think that all moderate republicans are bad people, or bad for the party, but many of them may as well switch sides.
Arlen Specter for example, who was a democrat that switched parties to snatch up a seat in the Senate form a retiring Senator. They call him a moderate, but he’s 100% liberal.

Are you guys nuts? Until you can articulate a problem with having millions more hispanics and chicanos in the U.S., I will have to write you all off as a bunch of whiners and cranks. Small business profits from millions of Mexicans, and the Republican party will not declare war on small business.
