Meet Barret Swatek. She is one Republican actress in Hollywood who isn’t afraid to say so. Read her biography below, see photos, and watch a video.
Although they are not given as much media coverage as the celiberals, there really are republican celebrities in Hollywood. One of those is Barret Swatek who is unashamedly ‘out’ and is certainly not one of those wimpy republican Hollywood scaredy-cat types. Barret is articulate, outspoken, and has appeared occasionally with Sean Hannity on the Fox News Channel.
Barret Swatek’s latest project is called ‘My Two Fans,’ a 16-episode Web sitcom and musical about the life of a late-20s single woman, set to premiere March 9th on YouTube, Blip.tv, Veoh, iTunes and Sling.com. And yep, it’ll be monetized through advertising!
Barret Swatek was born on March 3, 1977 in Birmingham, Alabama so her age is 32. As a young child she was actually a competitive figure skater but around the age of 12, she began turning her interests toward singing and acting at her local theatre.
She attended The University of Arizona and finished at Loyola Marymount University with a degree in film.
Her first television role was on the show ‘Power Ranger Turbo’. She had a number of TV sitcom roles including on ‘Three Sisters’ and ’Just Shoot Me’. Her big break came in 1996 when she landed the TV role of Cheryl on the hit WB series ‘7th Heaven.’ Her film credits include ‘The 40 Year Old Virgin,’ ‘Lethal Weapon 4′ and ‘On Edge.’ She has just finished filming ‘Barry Munday’ which will be out later this year.
Most recently she was in ‘Quarterlife,’ an online series and social network created by Emmy Award-winning television producers Marshall Herskovitz and Edward Zwick. The show was about a group of six twenty-something artists ‘coming of age’. Her latest project is called ‘My Two Fans,’ which is also web-based and will debut later this month.
As mention, Barret Swatek is a Republican who is actually working in Hollywood. In fact, she proudly says her whole family are Republicans. Her brother Dax is even a Republican strategist.

This woman is obviously an automaton. Look at her eyes.

It is a gutsy move for her to admit this especially when you consider she is not yet at the top tier. Tom Sellect can get away with it but it remains to be seen if her convictions hurt her with the Chavez inspired Hollywood crowd.

If you don’t have a page on wikipedia, you’re not a “celebrity”.

Barret Swatek is not THAT conservative people. Don’t know why she’s up on your site. Just because she has appeared on H&C…?

Barret Swatek does not have any political convictions, she’s just another jewish nationalist looking out for her own people. Some jews work on undermining the host culture by encouraging liberalism others encourage militarism and whip up war frenzy against enemies of Israel. The purpose of both is the same.

Barret Swatek has never described herself as a conservative. She is a moderate republican much like Megan McCain. You can tell in any where politics has come up that is the case.

@Matthew: Interesting that you compare Barret Swatek to Megan McCain — both of them are painfully f**king stupid.
I cringed many times when I caught Megan McCain’s appearance on the Bill Mahar show. At one point, after Mahar had raised the Darfur issue with the rest of his guests seated around the table, he turned to Megan McCain to ask her opinion. She said, and I quote, “Like, I really don’t know anything about that.”
Same deal with Barret Swatek — I was flipping through the channels and saw her on Fox News Red Eye, unable to form coherent sentences or articulate why she holds certain beliefs. While making a lame joke about how Carrot Top is “hot,” she said: “I’m not saying he’s prettier than me, because I’m pretty!”
F**king hell. If this is the future of the Republican party, then we should all resign ourselves to the fact that we will be under permanent one-party rule, and the era of vigorous debate and political balances has come to an end.
In the meantime, maybe Michael Steele or someone else at the GOP will wake up and realize bratty, dim-witted heirs and Youtube “celebrities” shouldn’t be the spokes(wo)men for a political party that wants to be taken seriously by American voters.

First of all, Barret Swatek is an actress NOT a pundit for the republican party. I don’t think she has ever thought of herself as the future of the republican party, that I can tell at least. Just seems like she’s a fun guest for them. And, I just watched that Red Eye you mentioned. She made a joke about Carrot Top’s picture being in her wallet and then someone else said he was a “pretty” guy and could she date someone “prettier” than she. She answered and then followed by saying “and I’m not saying I’m pretty”. It was actually a very humble remark to make… Meg McCain may be a different story. She’s a writer and maybe considers herself a progressive republican pundit. Either way, neither of them are painfully ****ing stupid as you so elegantly put it.

Matthew,
Why the ongoing interest in this one, little, innocuous post? I am just curious.
