Welfare recipient Henrietta Hughes grabbed President Obama’s attention at a Florida town hall meeting. She walked away from the Presidential hug and peck on the cheek with a house, thanks to a Republican. Now there are allegations that she is a fraud. Videos below.

Henrietta Hughes says she sold a piece of property in 2005 and she and her son, Corey, have been living on the proceeds since. Sweetness and Light, however, has allegedly uncovered some documents that say otherwise. “According to Lee County, Florida property records,”

No transactions since for either Henrietta Hughes or Corey Hughes which means that Corey Hughes still owns the property. Taxes current (paid) on 1/1/09.

Sweetness and Light offers a link to Lee Country Courthouse records, and the photo of Obama hugging Hughes.

Here’s the story, as reported on Henrietta Hughes and her son:

Henrietta Hughes was placed on the front row of a recent town hall meeting with President Obama in Ft. Myers, Florida. Ms. Hughes had the opportunity to tell Obama what she needed to make her life better - she needed a small vehicle, a kitchen and a bathroom. Before the day was over, two Republicans provided the kitchen and bathroom for her - a three bedroom home for as long as needed.

Now we learn that the Director of We Care Outreach Ministry, Tanya Johnson, offered Henrietta Hughes a …”permanent house and a place to stay free for three months.”

We would have allowed her to stay for the first 90 days, no income. You know free,” said Tanya Johnson.

Johnson says she also gave Henrietta and her son Corey, money, food and offered Corey job training courses, but it was refused.

“We have extended a lot of her services to her,” Johnson said.

A battle is brewing as Hughes says she is “not milking the system.” She denies that the services offered by We Care Outreach were free. So WINK reporter, Nick Spinetto, went back to the ministry to talk it over with Tanya Johnson. “Johnson stands by her story.”

Hughes says We Care Outreach “could not meet her needs,” and in the video below, you’ll see Hughes say that Tanya Johnson “is lying.”

Immediately after Henrietta Hughes made her nation-wide plea for help, two Republicans stepped up to help. Florida State Representative Nick Thompson and his wife, Chene, offered a three bedroom house for as long as Hughes and her adult son needed it.

Hughes says she is paying monthly storage so perhaps she has household goods, furniture and such for her new home.

In this report, WINK News revealed that Hughes sold a piece of property in 2005 for $47,000.00 - two years after she lost a home in 2003 - at which time she and her son began living in a car - a Nissan Frontier truck described in the media a 2-seater. No wonder the Hughes can’t afford rent (see video). A Nissan Frontier is no sub-compact, and I suspect the gasoline needed is not easy on the wallet. I didn’t think Democrats drove these hulking vehicles.

Corey Hughes is reported to be 37 years old and a computer programmer. I find no reports of why he or his mother do not have jobs, unless Corey’s thyroid is the problem. Michelle Malkin has this from the Rochester Chronicle.

While the Hughes awaited possession of the new home, “another stranger” paid for a hotel for mother and son. According to MSNBC, Henrietta and Corey say they have “found hope with the help of God and President Obama.”

An observation: As you look around MSM and moonbat sites, many have forgotten to mention that the charity for Ms. Hughes came from Republicans.

The first video below is of the WINK News report with interviews of Hughes and We Care Outreach. Hughes says the ministry “lied.” The second video is of a rugged Nissan Frontier truck, reportedly the same type vehicle Hughes and her son have been living in.
