The Winter Wickedness Perversion Fest is being held in Worthington, near Columbus, Ohio this weekend. This controversial sex festival is drawing fire from national religious groups and concerned locals. Read about it below.
There’s an adults only anything goes sex convention being held at a Holiday Inn near Columbus, Ohio this weekend. Its not just every day ordinary sex. Its very much what the title implies … its called the Winter Wickedness Perversion Fest. National religious groups and residents living in the area are not at all happy about the whole thing. But then, in this day and age of the new Obama San Francisco values America, it doesn’t matter much what ‘Middle America’ thinks. Its more about the freedom without responsibility of fringe groups expressing whatever they want up in anybody’s face as long as they don’t express anything any where near traditional values. But I digress.
So this group is billed as ‘a social and educational event involving adult fantasy role playing.’ The social part of the event is an opportunity for networking and interaction between people of various sexual orientations, such as: ‘a growing Pansexual, Polyamorous BDSM/Kink Fun Group in Central Ohio.’
The educational part of the event has to do with instruction and demonstrations on bondage, needle play, fire play and … well …. a lot of play. They do emphasize that they are providing ‘play space’ to learn and practice all sorts of wicked perversions over the weekend.
The City of Worthington has been inundated with telephone calls and objections to this group being sponsored there. The Holiday Inn makes sure everyone knows they are not endorsing the group, they are just renting them rooms and space for their workshops. They also assure everyone that they have taken precautions to make sure the naughty convention attendees will not disturb other hotel guests. They have made special arrangements to make sure that anyone who is not part of the Winter Wickedness Perversion Fest and is renting a room there this weekend won’t be able to walk into a room looking for a continental breakfast only to find 100 people in the throes of an all night orgy. All of the group’s activities will be behind closed doors and the Worthington Health Department is on full alert.
Not to worry though, the group does draw lines in the perversions they accept at their fest. Their website, adventuresinsexuality.org, warns participants that illegal drugs, firearms and animals are prohibited. No bestiality? Well, what do they have against animals anyway? That’s probably a rule the hotel imposed. They also provide drop cloths, gloves, condoms and tarps as part of the price of admission. That will help with the knowing what to pack.
The new rules of our hope and change society are that the fringe is the norm and the norm is fringe. Middle America is so 1980s. This is a new age. A new world order lead by Obama, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and their Keystone Kops.
Its worth noting that this festival is occurring on the same weekend as World Nude Day. Coincidence?

As long as my kid doesnt have to watch and they’re not tossing babies into dumpsters I say knock yourselves out.
In my moonbat days I was invited to a couple of gatherings similar to this. One was a sex workshop that was more or less just a hook up opportunity with no real educational value along with a bunch of new products for sale, and a couple of nudist camps.
First of all, most of hese people were just downright unattractive and they appear to be kind of lonely, so I kinda read into it like a bunch of people who are willing to make certain sacrifices for the sake of company.
Half the time what I saw was kind of pathetic and found myself almost feeling sorry for them.

Oh Beth, it’s funny how the media hides behind “Freedom of the Press” to get their one sided views out there. Peter La Barbara of Americans for Truth about Homosexuality is no stranger to the gay community and since no one listens to him in the gay community, he decided to go after the straight fetish community this time. If the people covering this story did their research on Porno Pete as we like to call him, they would find out that Peter La Barbara goes to gay events all over the country, is a member of several bath houses in Chicago (look up the meaning of bath house) and seems to neglect his wife so he can “Expose the gay agenda” which I haven’t seen yet even though I have been part of the gay community for over 20 years. Even the IFI, a religious organization he once headed fired him because he was obsessed with the gay agenda. It’s also been told that Peter has thousands of gay porn magazines, videos and books in his suburban Naperville, IL office.
It’s funny how people try to expose things that they are unfamiliar with as evil and against God. I think people to clean out their own houses before they go after someone Else’s. After all, we are all guilty of something in the eyes of others.
I suggest in the future, you may want to attend one of these events you call perverted and see what all the fuss is about.

Jeff - where did I call this festival ‘evil’ or ‘against God’? I can’t seem to find the reference. Also, just so you know, they call it ‘perversion’ - not me. I’m just reporting on an interesting story.
I do think these sorts of ‘conventions’, ‘workshops’, festivals, or whatever you want to call it belong in private homes and private clubs - where they have always been, as opposed to the family oriented Holiday Inn! lol Of course, we know that conventions of any kind aren’t exactly morality standard bearers.
If getting pricked with needles is what floats your boat, then have fun. Just don’t do it up in my face.

Last I checked, no one involved with this convention pushed it in anyone’s face. It was the religious right screaming about it that caused the national attention. The convention had been quietly sold out for quite a while before then.
These types of conventions are held all over the country in hotel rooms every year and have been for the past 2 decades. You don’t know about it because you aren’t interested and they are kept quiet out of respect for those not interested in it. It is only when the religious right decide to go crazy protesting and screaming that it becomes a media issue.
There is no beastiality because it is both illegal and hurts something that is unable to consent to being hurt. A 2 minute google search will teach anyone able to read that these kink groups hold consent as a holy grail. As long as they are beating, piercing, and doing whatever to people who want it done to them, who cares?
As for drop cloths? I wish all the after prom kids who end up vomiting up their illegal alcohol were so considerate.

Beth: “If getting pricked with needles is what floats your boat, then have fun. Just don’t do it up in my face.”
How is the event doing it “in your face”? The event is being held indoors as a private event. The general public would not know what is taking place at an event like this if it weren’t for these morally uptight conservatives like yourself. You have already judged this group and what you think goes on without even stepping inside to see for yourself.
I like how you consider the Holiday Inn family orientated. You seem to have a problem with this type of event going on, but I guess you have no problem with business men and other married men and women engaging in the same type of sexual behavior in their hotel rooms. Hotel rooms are used all the time for sexual trysts.

And on that note Beth, maybe if you decide to get married and have a wedding reception, you should do it in your own home, not in some un suspecting hotel. I guess that point you made is a little ridiculous. And just how many hotel rooms does the religious right rent every year any how? It’s too bad that the US is so an*l about sex. We might just be a much happier, caring, loving society if people took that big stick out of you know where! Also, I don’t see anywhere in your story about the lovely pastor for Pass the Salt ministries and the controversy surrounding his son and child pornography.
Just saying, that your story is a little one sided.

Richard and Jeff, you both need an infusion of a sense of humor stat! IV would be called for, imo. That would get it into your system quicker and your humor levels seem to be critically low. Also, the chips on your shoulders need to be removed. Hopefully it won’t require surgery. Maybe you will be able to toss those chips off as your sense of humor levels rise.

Wow! Beth Shaw needs to take a civics course.
Why do you drag the names of people like Obama and Pelosi into this? This is clearly a local issue and the only real concerns are health and safety, which it seems are being handled properly and responsibly by the organizers, the hotel, and local officials. Your commentary does nothing to advance the dialogue of ideas of how we govern our country, but you have dragged unrelated politicians into the fray here to advance an agenda.
The rights afforded under the Constitution should not be swayed by the morality of the moment. You are suggesting that their conduct, which is not “in anyone’s face,” is not acceptable to you. Frankly, I find protesters holding signs with the the word “f*g” unacceptable to me. Thankfully, both are allowed under the supreme laws of our land.
I’m just not so ignorant to suggest that John McCain or some other party official of the right is somehow behind the actions of the protesters. And if he was, I think standing up for individual rights (no matter how acceptable or repugnant in my own view) is a just cause.

Eric - I couldn’t agree more. I certainly hope that Pelosi, Reid and Obama will continue to allow us to determine local issues on a local level. Unfortunately, they seem to be moving big government towards intruding on our personal lives and local governance as quickly and completely as they can.
I also am concerned that they are apparently attempting to quiet voices of dissent. I find many things objectionable - and they should be protected under our Constitution … regardless of how offensive. And those offended should be able to express that they are offended. Its about freedom of speech and expression.
