Beyonce sang At Last for the Obama’s first dance at the first Inaugural ball they attended at the end of their very long day. See photos and a video of that first dance here.
After all the festivities of the day and after Barack Obama was official sworn in as President of the United States, it was time to make the rounds of the numerous Inaugural Balls planned for the Obamas. Everyone wanted to see what Michelle Obama, the nation’s new First Lady would be wearing. We found out. The First Lady chose a gown created by a 26-year-old designer, Jason Wu. As people began to evaluate her fashion choice, as well as the fashion choice of Dr. Jill Biden, the dancing began.
Barack and Michelle Obama made appearances at 10 official Inaugural Balls throughout the evening. The first one and the one he spent the most time at, was the Neighborhood Ball. The couple were introduced by actor Denzel Washington and were serenaded by pop artist Beyonce. She sang her version of At Last for the First Couple to take their first dance.
Beyonce recorded the Etta James classic when she portrayed James in Cadillac Records last year. Also in attendance at the Neighborhood Ball were Jessica Alba, Leonardo DiCaprio, Ray Romano, Jamie Foxx, Queen Latifah, Kate Walsh, Jay-Z, will.i.am, Mariah Carey, Alicia Keys, Shakira, Sting, Faith Hill, Mary J. Blige, Stevie Wonder and Maroon 5.
Honestly, with all these posts about the celebrities who are all about Barack Obama, I’m starting to feel like a celebrity writer instead of a political writer!
Enjoy the video of the Beyonce performance and the Obama’s first dance below.

Have you ever seen people act so immature, disrespectful and downright nasty to an outgoing President? The Bushes conducted themselves with a lost of class. They were gracious and generous with the Obamas to ease the transition and in return they got booed, shoes thrown at them and general nastiness all around. They should be ashamed of themselves.
January 21st, 2009 at 10:00 am
If you have no class, you can’t show class. I don’t like Carter and Clinton’s policies but I would never be disrespectful to them if I were to meet them. I would even be respectful of Obama.
The have no shame because they see it as “us vs them.”
They are the party of tolerance and diversity as long as you don’t have a different opinion from them and if you do, you are a bigot and full of hate.
January 21st, 2009 at 10:20 am
what is with the us against them clearly who is the bigot here the idiots writting about it “us vs them”, what planet are you on he won get over it, he can’t do any worse the George Bush and no one was trying to be all respectful when they where booing Obama so get over it. They had no choice but to leave his time was up so get over yourself because no matter what you think he is the President, although I have to admit this is a great post with a valid perspective.

Cindy,
You just proved my point. You are acting like a spoiled brat. You hate George Bush and can’t name one thing he did. I know what your answer will be. The standard crap of for 8 years he violated the and that.
Your party is so full of vinum. I really don’t have the time of day for people like you anymore.
You and most like you have probably voted once in you life and it was for Obama.
There is nothing for me to get over. Obama is President of us all. I will support him when I think he is right and I will criticize him when I think he is wrong. But I will not call him names and say that he is dumb and that he sold the election and he is liar and people died and on and on.
I will leave that to people with very small brain power and closed ears and eyes like you to do that. Will you still support him when you disagree with him?

” he can’t do any worse the George Bush”
The hell he cant ?
Are you aware of what happened when this many dems were in power ?
It was called “The Carter era”
More like the “Carter error”
And yes Cindy, it is “us against them”
The brand of leadership you guys voted for is the exact replica of past governments and policies that have failed in the past.
Its just a turdsicle and you guys wont find out until you’ve licked off the choclatey covering on it that comes in the form of all the goodies he promised.
best example would be that 500 tax refund for singles and 1000 for couples. That comes out to a 1.39 a day per person.
And you guys bought a whole box of the damn things.

back to the post for a minute …
is beyonce pulling a michael jackson and becoming white?
January 21st, 2009 at 1:30 pm
But Micky, he be a good talker. You know Bush was illerate and was a bad talker.
They are remind of the girl who is attached to the smooth talking good looking man that always breaks her heart. Her friends tell her this happens every time. And she needs to find a man that is a hard worker and treats his mama good. The girl says she knows that but she thought it would be different this time. He promised to leave his wife for her.
They love smooth talking. The kind that tells you what you want to hear, not what you need to hear.
January 21st, 2009 at 2:46 pm
Lisa,
I hope not. Micheal went crazy when he turned white.
January 21st, 2009 at 2:53 pm
I thought she was white trying to be black ?
January 21st, 2009 at 4:36 pm
first of all you are assuming that i am black and that i am not a republican so wrong the fact of the matter is you are wrong. he has fresh ideas and reguardless of what anyone thinks he should be given a chance one thing you are very right about is that if he’s wrong it should be pointed out but what can be done to fix it. i am not hardly being a brat i can have an opinion just like you so what does that make you when you are doing the same thing that you claim everyone else is doing? you didn’t vote for him you can say whatever you want to say and that’s fine but when someone else does it it’s not, you have got to be kidding you need to re evaluate who it is that you are pointing at and take a look at yourself.

I have fresh ideas. Does that make me presidential?
I would like to think that in America we elected people because they have proved themselves to be trustworthy of us. I want my president to have had some experience similar to the that job.
He was in the Senate 164 days when he decided to run.
He has never run a city or state. Why not just elect someone off the street.
It will come to pass that Obama is a puppet. He is just not the great.
If disagreeing with him makes me a bigot, then I live in a country that I do not know anymore. I guess that when we have black or a women in the White House, we can’t disagree with them without being a bigot. We have really come a long way?
January 22nd, 2009 at 3:41 pm
No it does not make you presidential and with the experience that Bush had did that make him the greatest, yea no it didnt so therefore we must conclude that experience or not all we can do is hope that the president that we elect or not does as much as possible to help the people………. We have yet to see if Obama will mess up or not sooooooooooooooooooooo everyone is entitled to there opinion but clearly the only reason that he is being run into the ground would have to be because he is black because he has not been president yet to have messed up in office. If he does then by all means he should be called on it the same way former presidents have been. Come a long way, don’t think so people are not bigots for have a difference in opinon that is what makes the world great. “THEY vs US”!!
January 22nd, 2009 at 4:13 pm
“but clearly the only reason that he is being run into the ground would have to be because he is black”
nope … it is because he has no qualifications … none at all
January 22nd, 2009 at 7:57 pm
yes “qualifications, qualifications ……………………………………………….days later qualifications ……………………………………..years later qualifications and yet presidents that have had “qualifications” and all those people are dying in a war, we are in a recession, people are lossing their homes, no jobs unemployemnt higher than ever you guys are all so right you win i give up all those qualifications that Bush had and the economy is rocking, we are in better shape in this country than we have ever been, no problems you guys are right Obama should not be in office he is not qualified and the with the shape that the country is in now he would just come along and screw it up. What a bunch of idiots that voted for him what ever where they thinking.

First let me say this, if anyone booed Bush that day, they were wrong. Second I was so proud of Beyonce, she did a good job singing that song for the first couple. Third, I don’t think Beyonce is trying to make herself white, believe it or not, everybody doesn’t want to be white. I also don’t believe Michael made himself white, I read he had a disease call vitiligo. As far as him being crazy, well he sure ain’t the only one is he? Now and no way last, it is not President Obama’s fault that this economy is in this mess. There were people with all kind of experience the last eight or more years claiming to run this country, but yet we ended up in this mess didn’t we? With all the experience in the Congress, Senate, and White House. And look at the big mess this country is in. Thanks to who. Obama can’t be any worse than that fellow who just went back to Texas. Maybe they shouldn’t have booed Bush, maybe they should have thrown shoes at him.
