The end of the world is coming on December 21st, 2012. Years ago that was in the far distant future. Now its right around the corner. What is it with that date that so many ancients prophesied that the world would end then? Read about the Nostradamus 2012 predictions and others. See the video below.
Its hard to understand how there can be new predictions coming from a man who has been dead almost 500 years. However, it seems that new writings have been found. They obviously aren’t ‘new’, but they have previously been hidden. The revelations that the most famous medieval prophet wrote were controversial and considered blasphemous in his time. A previously unknown book of Nostradamus’ prophesies has been found in the National Library and it contains his end of the world prophesy. The History Channel is airing a new show focusing on his predictions about 2012. The show, The Lost Book of Nostradamus, will premiere January 4, 2009. A video about the show is included here.
Its a little disconcerting in light of the fact that several independent ancient sources have predicted the world will end on December 21, 2012. Now we can add Nostradamus to the list of predictions for that date. In fact, he notes that the odds of these various groups predicting the same events for the same date could not be mere coincidence.
Thousands of people
Thousands of miles away
Thousands of years apart
All predict a cataclysmic event
Taking place on earth
On the exact same day
Can that really be a coincidence?
In addition to having this revelation from Nostradamus, we have the relatively recent revelation from NASA scientists that we can expect major solar storms that will disrupt the magnetic fields on Earth and create chaotic disruptions on Earth. NASA predicts these unprecedented solar storms will occur in …. your guessed it …. 2012.
Of course, we all know that the advanced civilization of the Mayans ended their calendar on December 21, 2012. We recently reported that the Dutch are preparing for a 2012 apocalypse. They seem mostly upset that The Netherlands seems to be sinking into the ocean.
I realize that we’ve had many warnings of the end of the world before. We all remember cults that have sat and waited for space ships to come pick them up before destroying the Earth, or committing mass suicide in preparation for the apocalypse. Then there was all the dire warnings about Y2K. They say that happens at every turn of a millennium, although I don’t know how anyone would know that. All of these stories make any of these prophesies a little hard to get too excited about.
Still, one keeps coming back to the words of Nostradamus. Can it be a coincidence when different civilizations on different continents in different times came up with the same date? Its not like they could text each other or read it on the internet. They came up with the predictions of doom and gloom in 2012 complete independently of one another.
I think I’ll plan a big party for December 22, 2012, the day after Winter Solstice 2012. If we are still around then, it’ll be a big celebration. If not, then it won’t really make any difference.
What do you think? Is there enough of these strangely coincidental predictions and prophesies to cause concern? Is it just another conspiracy theory that puts together random facts mixed with lots of fiction to create a strange tale?

the future cannot really be predicted. with a given set of conditions a quantum state can be predicted, but measuring it changes it into something impossible to predict. cyclicity creates a repeating model with predictive inflection points with characteristic behavior if we are monitoring the right variables. The myan calender is especially scary for 2012 as it simply stops at the end of time. But could the myan’s predict the end of their civilization or that their descendends would be working in new york as day labor? Unlikely. The only thing truly supranatural to our senses is quantum physics as all the contradictory possiblities happen concurrently with different weightings. It boggles the mammalian mind that processes information a certain way. That doesn’t make it not so. Can the mammalian mind predict one off events? well we retrospectively predicted the big bang but did it even happen with all we know now? Surely an asteroid or large comet could do big damage, again. What would be the inner math to such an event. Look up tensor calculus and the power of vector linear algebra. According to that there is an inner mathematical logic to the external calculations we derive that bring us to our inflection points. Is it possible there is a pure inner mathematical elegance to our physical world that is beyond our normal calculations, yet still there wrapped up in the relationships among the numbers? If you look at second and third order derivatives of changing ratios and how they cluster in our topology you begin to get a glimpse at the real “innards” of our world we measure in ordinary terms.

2012 can be catastrophic, but it won’t be the end of the world. The end of the world as we know it will be when Jesus returns, and nobody knows exactly when that will be.
December 27th, 2008 at 1:53 pm
Nostradamus was a charlatan. A very smart charlatan, though.
2012 will come and go without the end of the world.
I do not like the Many Worlds theory. There is something about it that rubs me the wrong way. There’s something special about our reality. It’s Copernicus meeting a brick wall, and of course, not going thru it.
December 27th, 2008 at 3:01 pm
well our reality sure is special. And its generated by quantum magic. Actually copernicus could stop at the brick wall, yet still be standing on the other side of it. And our lives would go on as before only changing if we “choose” to interact with him. If you understood the mathematical physics behind this argument, and its amazing collection of experimental proofs, you would see your mammalian mind doesn’t process reality right at all. Its just that we are so big and numerous a set of particles we just don’t notice. The elegance of the math is breathtaking once you get past the alphabet of courses you have to take in your first 15 years of schooling, and it can be condensed or compressed for those with an interest and inclination. They are now finding neuralfilliments between neurons communicate quantum mechanically, meaning our brains are already little quantum microcomputers. Its possible with training you may be able to see a different signal architecture and one day our meditative arts may move us there for those with the interest. To date the human mind is barely being tapped.

I am reminded of the Large Hadron Collider(particle colliders). Some think it may produce black holes that could devour the Earth maybe sometime in 2012? Humans afterall are often self destructive. Sounds like a Hollywood script. It’s pure fiction…. right??
January 4th, 2009 at 10:07 am
The world will end there will be a WW3 look at the middle east right now. Jesus will come back take the good leave the bad to suffer so if your doing something bad stop because you will pay for your wrongful doings.

The world will end in a fight humans vs inhuman creatures and after 15 years of their will be nothing left to fight for all of the citys will be sunken under ground and eventually we us humans will have to take the fight to the inhuman creatures stronghold which will be way unxer ground and the battle gear will have to heavy metal it will be a fight for life or DEATH.

January 4th, 2009 at 7:38 pm
some physicists think the LHC can produce little tiny black holes as energies near the big bang are achieved. Remember the size of black holes in fiction and reality are actually huge as they come from collapsed neutron stars to the size of half a kilometer or so, and there is no way the LHC can reproduce that with the small numbers of protons colliding its working with. So they would be very tiny with very small microscopic local effects at worst, possibly immeasureable by our technology.
January 4th, 2009 at 7:45 pm
essentially a black hole is just a mass effect where the matter density is so great it pulls back all the electromagnetic information, such as photons at a certain radius so no light, say escapes. You wouldn’t see it, but it would have gravitational effects and curious radioactive events at the event horizon. Black holes simply trap the light matter inside a sphere birthed by a huge critical mass density. At that point it becomes part of the univers’s dark matter in many ways, except for curious horizon effects we occasionally can see. The fact that gravitational effects escape the black hole is a clear indication that gravity is something very different from the electroweak forces that give us our light energy.(stars, matter, electrons, photons).

Right then, heres my view on this topic.
1: The Mayan Calender.
They made a calender that stops at 2012. So?
Our calender goes January February…December. So At December it’s the end of the world? With New Year just gone I dont think so. At the end of December it loops back to January. So Maybe the Mayan Calender loops back to the start.
2: I’d like to ask, how many doomsday theories hav there been in the past few years? In September there was the LHC machine. Every once in a while the newspapers and media want to spice things up by saying the world is going to end.

WERE ALL GONNA DIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
January 19th, 2009 at 6:21 am
a load of rubbish, this guy died centuries ago although i respect his person opinion, still who really cares a person cant predict the end of the world no 1 can but god only. so juzz calm down guys this is juzz lame 1999 passed nd nothin happened…
January 19th, 2009 at 3:48 pm
1. The Mayans never predicted the end of the world because historians believe they never actually believed in an end, just a transition period from one cycle into another. The ones who claim this is “doomsday” are putting words into the Mayan’s mouths so-to-speak.
2. Nostradamus never predicted the end of the world in 2012. in fact… there is documentation that Nostradamus wrote to his son that he saw nothing past the year 3200 something, which means in his opinion that the end will happen sometime in the year 3200. (I can’t remember the exact date.)
So Nostradamus predicted the end to be another millennium away. Not that the end can be predicted.

not to mention the countless of other doomsdays predicted since the beginning of time, and we’re still here.
Look at some of those cults that commit mass suicide thinking the end of the world was coming on the day they decided to commit suicide together. The end only came for them, but the world is still here and so are we who didn’t buy into it.
It states in the bible many times that NO ONE knows when the end will come. It will come like a theif in the night. No one knows, not the angels in heaven nor the son… only the father (God) knows… so we must be constantly vigil, to be ready should the day come now, or 1000 years from now.
So I don’t buy into any exact date doomsday predictions, because I just don’t feel anyone can predict it. If Jesus doesn’t know when God will send him back, how is some schlub at UCLA suppose to know?
February 8th, 2009 at 10:25 am
This is not only unlikely, but people have been bending his predictions to match history. When people talked about how he predicted JfK’s shooting it was merely a a lucky guess. He never mentioned a description or name. He was also another continent away before America was een a country. Unless he knew that we wouldnt be under monarchy but under a free government this is very unlikely that we will see the end of the world in 2012!
February 8th, 2009 at 2:26 pm
at-11.11 on dec.21, 2012 our sun and a few of our large planets will be dead center in the milky way… this will have a super energy point and create a key to unlock a fantastic source of energy from within the center of the milky way.–the main event will be a complete reversal of the earths poles which will turn the earth 180 degrees. where once there was ice, there will be warm and moderate climate. where once there was warm , there will be freezing. 85 percent of the worlds population will be lost as will many animals.all industry will be destroyed. so the survivers will have to start over but this time with a more moral view of life for the years a head. the greed and war makers will be no more. life for the next 1000 years will be good then the moral decay will begin again and in time this event will start all over. in time man will change and some day life on earth will be what the original plan was to be. for now we must pay the earth back for all the damage man has done over the many 1000,s of years.—=======

If nostradamus is to be taken literaly the world will not totaly end in 2012. he has predictions for the human race for several thousand years after. It will be the war to end all wars but not the end of the human race.
