President-elect Barack Obama and his family are spending the Christmas vacation in Hawaii. Their digs for the holidays is an exclusive Kailua beachfront estate on the island of Oahu. Read more about it below, see photos and a video.
The One and his family will spend 12 days vacationing in Kailua before taking up residence in the White House. Aides have said the Obamas and their friends traveling with them are expected to cover the costs of their stay in Hawaii. A typical Kailua Beach rental price for the property could not immediately be found, although one home for sale on the block has a price of $7.9 million.
The Obama family entourage included reporters, photographers and Secret Service agents on a non-stop flight aboard a chartered—and largely empty—Boeing 767 that departed from O’Hare International Airport on Saturday morning for the roughly nine-hour flight.
During The One’s island vacation of golf, bodysurfing, and going to the gym to keep his body toned, aides are expected to release a document outlining any contacts Obama staff members had with Governor Rod Blagojevich or his administration. Most likely this document will be dumped during the holiday period when most people’s attention is on family, Christmas, and presents.
And while the liberals swoon over a shirtless Obama, Michelle was spotted wearing a sensible one-piece. Thank Goodness.

I live about 5 miles from where Obama is and right now he is body surfing in anything but normal circumstances.
Theres no way anyone gets that whole damn beach with that few people on it when hes here, trust me. (Its actually a really snobby area called Lanikai)
Those cliffs you see him “normally” walking on with three SS agents are actually on the exact opposite side of the island from where hes body surfing

Let us take a look at our current wonderful President. How much vacation time has he enjoyed? 418 days in 6.7 years in office. That is about 12 work weeks a year.
President Bush has in fact set a record for vacation time for a president.
We on the left are never, ever going to let you forget President Bush. It is easy. Every criticism you have of Obama in the years to come, all we gotta say is, just look at Presdient Bush. And the wonderful thing is, it is true! Not a bunch of lies, like the “just look at Clinton” mantra.

Out of 2920 days in office minus the 418 you quote that would leave him 2502 working days.
That comes out to about 5 weeks a year.
And then you have to consider that at no time is he ever completely disconnected from the office.
He can do pretty much anything in Crawford that he can do at the oval office.

For the BHO II Hawaiian Aug 4 1961 COLB to be accurate the following improbable events needed to occur:
1 month after starting classes, Stanley Ann Dunham, Barack’s mom, at age 17, got pregnant by the only black African man on the entire chain of Hawaiian islands.
2 months after getting pregnant, she drops out of college.
3 months after getting pregnant, she marries BHO Sr.
10 months after her first day at the U of HI, she delivers BHO II and immediately leaves her parents, her new husband, and her home, to fly alone with a newborn 2800 miles to Seattle to start college at the U of W.
Stanley Ann Dunham does not return to Hawaii until AFTER BHO Sr left the islands for Harvard.
This is an implausible series of events made even more nefarious because Obama II in his 2 bio books never mentions his mom left Hawaii when she was married to BHO Sr, nor does he mention she was in Washington State during this time.
Barack’s sister was born in Indonesia, and has a COLB from Hawaii like Obama II. She is NOT a “Natural Born Citizen� of the USA as required by the Constitution to become president…and Obama probably isn’t either.

I was raised here, right next to the University of Hawaii, attended myself from 73 to 75, I’m 51 years old.
There were black men here much earlier than that.

you guys are not remembering that obama’s dad was an exchange student direct from Kenya, not an american african american descendent of slaves with 400 years of all that history and stuff. Basically his dad was an upwardly mobile international student who married a local here. So that makes obama much more what we call floaters, except he made it to the top parlaying his education and people skills. Obama doesn’t have all that harsh family history behind him and comes from a much more positive space. Its not fair to compare him to some inner city fool made good as he is just a student made good. Big diff. Plus hawaii is a much more multicultural multiracial place so he wouldnt’ have had to suffer prejudice like growing up here on the mainland.. I think we need to remember he is a different animal than a first look would reveal.

It’s so easy to see who the right wingers are here. Why don’t you just admit that your choice for president and his administration has failed miserably and we are ALL going to pay the price. We now have a president who appears to have new ideas and isn’t afraid of change,. How about we reserve judgement for when he either succeeds or fails. I believe he will succed and I’m going to do my part and support him. If you care about this country you’ll become part of the solution and stop being part of the problem.

In addition to Kates post I’ll add that so far those who voted for Obama are getting screwed out of almost every campaign promise he has made.
Those promises are all being broken as we speak, one by one, single file.
1) He will not pull out of Iraq immediatly like he first said he would. Then it was 6 months, then a year, then 16 months, then “Responsibly�
Now after his first security briefing where he was educated he’s going with� I will listen to the commanders on the ground�
He screwed you all on that one

Since he wont be able to leave Iraq he wont be able to afford all the goodies he said he was going to give you because it was pulling out of Iraq that would enable him to pay for all your health care, checks in the mail and whoever needed their mortgage paid.
Oh yea, all those colege tuitions he promised are out the window also.

He will not give back the executive powers he asserts that Bush unjustly gave the office since no one now is really able to prove they were illegal.
His securuty briefing made him realize that we are at war.

He will not close Guantanamo bay only because it will take years to fihure out still where to put these guys.
Their own countrys dont want them back and the decisions on what kinds of trials they will be getting will take forever.

Its a red herring. Anyone that is neede in the field is already in place or will be replaced by those in the fossil arena who will be retrained. Grennery will not add one additional job to the work force.
6) He changed the definition of rich from 250,000.00 to 200,000.00 to 150,000.00 and the Richardson stepped in and made it 120,000.00.
Next thing you know he’ll of worked his way down to the minimum that makes you blue collar middle income of 41,000.00 and call that rich.
Its pretty evident that NONE of you are going to get a dime out of him. Quite the opposite actually.

I will always wish I was a fly on the wall at Obamas first security briefing just I could watch his eyes bulge as he discovered that we really are at war.
On one hand you have to be glad that Obama is capable of seeing the light.
