President-elect Barack Obama has made his choice for who will give the invocation on Inaugural Day. This has sparked a fire in the gay/lesbian community. See photos, a video, and a biography of Rich Warren below.

Sticking to his theme of inclusion, Obama wants people with a variety of views all around him, including inaugural day. You have to hand it to him for sticking to his words. He has said, “We have to disagree without being disagreeable, and then focus on those things that we hold common as Americans.?

Pastor Warren’s support for Proposition 8, banning gay marriage in California, has caused gays and lesbians to be infuriated. Now, they are appalled that Obama would choose such a fellow. It has become clear that the gay/lesbian activists (perhaps not the community itself) are anti-inclusion. They want any conversation about their rights thrown out the window. It is mind boggling, because if they want their rights upheld, we need to be having a conversation about it.
