Alan Colmes has announces he will be leaving the top rated Hannity and Colmes after twelve years as co-host. Read about it below.
What will Hannity and Colmes be without Colmes? I knooowwww! It won’t be Hannity and Colmes anymore … it’ll just be Hannity!
Alan Colmes has announced he’ll be leaving the longest running prime time show on the Fox News Channel. Sean Hannity started the show looking for a token liberal to be his counterpart on the show. Colmes came along and filled the position. For twelve years, since 1996, the two have debated and given opposing views on their hit show. They have rated second, only behind The O’Reilly Factor.
He had approached the network and told them of his plans to leave, but promised to stay through the election. Now that the election is over, he’ll be moving on to bigger and better things. He’ll continue to do his own show on the Fox Radio Network and is working on a pilot of his own show on the Fox.
In the last few hours since this became public knowledge, there’s been a lot of speculation as to who will fill Colmes shoes as an opposing view on Hannity’s program. The network has declined to comment on this one way or the other. Recently, there is speculation that Sean Hannity will continue to host the show alone. Deliberations on how the show will continue are on going at this point.

I’m sure when hes not on air he’s probably a likeable guy.
I find it interesting that he’ll still be with FOX having his own spot on TV but no longer opposite Hannity. Or is this all just a marketing ploy to bring maybe a few more lefty viewers.
I could never stand his constant interupting that has a style all its own that probably contributed to coining the phrase “diahrrea of the mouth”.
At least once a week my neigbors can hear me screaming “Alan, will you shut the f*ck up !”
Possible replacements might be Kirsten Powers, Geraldo, Bob Beckel ?
Question.
Is anyone as tired of hearing about Hannitys Tahoe hybrid on every show as I am ?

On the air, Alan was very boring to me. His delivery was straight Democrat talking points. He add nothing to the show.
Hannitys Tahoe gets on my nerve only because I am sick of all the greenies telling me I must save the earth.
I had those sprial bulbs congress is forcing us to use.
Sig Hiel!

Oreilly is light years better than hannity and colmbs. I don’t consider the two shows to be of the same caliber at all. I would rather deal with a yelling oreilly than a parroting talking points hannity anyday.

I’m sure Mr. Hannity can easily find another passive lefty punching bag.

Ug. You all realize that Colmes is a patsy, right? He was given the job because he is weak, unattractive, and easily steamrolled in an argument. The idea is to extend that persona to liberals in general. If you have actually been believing Colmes is representative of liberals, you need to take a timeout, acknowledge to yourself you’re a tool, and smarten up.

Laughing.
You have a nasty habit of running around demeaning peoples intelligence just because they dont have your views.
Have you come here just see if you can pi$$ people off or actually make a decent point ?
You said on the other thread that theres not much chance for honest debate at this site so you’re still hangin around leaves me with one conclusion that you’re a punk troll lookin for a rise.
Your stupid assertion that Colmes is used to project a flawed persona of liberals is offset by the many other sharp well spoken liberals that come on the show opposite of him and Hannity.
Colmes actually drives his points quite well and is not as lame as you would like to have people dumber than me believe.
His technique of speedy blabbering interuptions is something I can do without but I have seen him be very effective with this at times.
Kirsten Powers, Tonya Ackerman or Ellis Henniken in their guest appearances have proven to me to be more capable of projecting the lame persona onto liberals that they deserve.
After this and your comments on other threads it would be about time you started engaging in a decent debate so that you can prove this lack of intellect you say we all share.

“blabbering interuptions”
I agree with that assessment. I can only watch so much blabbering before I have to change the channel. The man is not a voice of Democrats, which is why he appears nowhere other than FOX News (no respected writings or discussion panels).
Wow. Wait. So you *do* think he is representative of Democrats! Isn’t it a bit instructive that the Democrat of the bunch here loathes Colmes the most??
As for a debate, pick the topic. I just ask that it be narrow and focused so we don’t spiral out on 10,000 tangents. Been there, done that. I’ll check back in a few days.
