Meet Linda Hall Daschle, wife of former Senator Tom Daschle and prominent Washington lobbyist. Read her biography and see photos and a video below.

Obama held yet another press conference today to announce yet another cabinet position for his forthcoming administration. He announced that he has appointed former Senator Tom Daschle head up the Department of Health and Human Services. In addition, Daschle will be the director of the White House office of health reform.

Daschle says that he is going to write Obama’s health care plan. You probably think that sounds like a huge job for one man. Not to worry though! Daschle’s wife is Linda Hall Daschle, a well known Washington aviation lobbyist. She is considered one of the most powerful and influential lobbyists in the arena. She has worked for health care related firms in the past. I’m sure she’ll be supportive and very helpful. She will be resigning her position in order to assure we the people that there will not be a conflict of interest.

Daschle told CNN that Linda Daschle would be leaving the firm at the end of the year … in order to clear any potential conflicts of interest.

In addition, Obama himself pledged, during his campaign, that none of his appointees would have any connections with lobbyists for at least two years prior to their appointment. He will not allow corruption or questionable activities going on under his watch.

That should give us all pause with his track record of keeping his promises so far.

Here’s a little information on Linda Daschle.
