Its been reported that Hillary Clinton is Secretary of State in an Obama Administration. Read about it here and see photos and a video of the report.
Update: It is true! Obama picks Hillary. She says yes I can.
Two Obama advisers are reporting that Hillary Clinton may well be our next Secretary of State. The speculation about the possibility of Clinton as the future Madame Secretary has to do with healing the rift in the party following the bitter battle between the two for the democratic presidential nomination.
The Obama campaign has refused to make any official confirmation about who is being considered for posts within his administration. That hasn’t prevented speculation from running amok with all the possibilities. Especially seeing as the two have been seen talking head to head and traveling together on Obama’s plane in recent days.
This could very well explain the secretive meetings that precipitated Clinton throwing her support behind Obama at the Democratic National Convention. It could also explain why Clinton’s support of Obama’s campaign suddenly became more helpful towards the end of his campaign.
One has to wonder how many more Clinton people can be crammed into this administration. Now it appears, that one of the Clintons themselves will even be part of the administration. Leave it up to the Clintons to figure out a way to control the administration in spite of losing the election!
Well, we must put this in perspective because it could definitely be worse. The other options that have been mentioned are New Mexico Governor and Clinton backstabber Bill Richardson. We would remember more about Bill Richardson in his role as the Secretary of the Department of Energy during the Clinton Administration had it not been for the events of September 11, 2001. Both democrats and Republicans had accused Richardson of incompetence and called for his resignation in light of his mismanagement of an episode that had to do with losing national security nuclear secrets to the Chinese from the Los Alamos National Laboratory. the espionage scandal at Los Alamos happened under Richardson nose and it was in the process of ruining his career. But then 9/11 happened and everyone kinda forgot how he managed to mismanage the Department of Energy and the entire espionage scandal.
Aside from Richardson, Obama is said to be considering the long time junior Senator from Massachusetts John Kerry. We might remember that John Kerry came back from his couple of months in Vietnam with three Purple Hearts that he had applied for himself and without the respect of the men who served under him. He then went to France to meet with the Viet Cong in an act that would have at one point in our history had him hung for treason. At some point he threw his medals away as part of the political climate of the time. Then he got them back and made sure everyone knew about them when it was advantageous to his political career. Aside from all of that, he generally just puts people to sleep with his droning long soliloquies about not much of anything other than himself.
See, putting it in perspective, Hillary Clinton might not be the worst choice for Secretary of State.
My only hope is that if she does take the position, she will deal with the enemies of our nation as viciously as she deals with her own political enemies. I also hope that she will go back to her pantsuits and give up the glamor look she attempted at the 2008 Glamour Women of the Year Awards.

This sounds just like the breathless stories that Obama was considering Hillary for VP. That in itself means that the story should be viewed skeptically. Moreover, the Clintons do have this odd trail of bodies in their wake. Why take a chance by putting Ms. Clinton in the line of succession?

Exactly one. Possibly two if he gives Bill some sort of position, but that seems unlikely. I don’t see how that’s “cramming” (or did Chelsea get a post too?), given that there are dozens of open cabinet spots to fill.

This was an idea thrown on the table. It was the Clinton’s that leaked it. Surely Obama has more sense then to put either Clinton in his administration. It would be all about them. Everything is about them. The one thing I was counting on with a Obama win was that the Clintons would finally fade away and we would be done with them.
Obama is leasing the Clinton Administration. I thought he was about change as in the face of Washington. But now I know he meant we would only have change in our pockets. Go Hill Go (And take Bill with you).

if Hillary becomes the Sec. State, hopefully she will not be excessively distracted by outside drama or career plans, etc.
