Dear John McCain, Thank you!
Senator John McCain,
You are a Great American. I and many others admire you and believe in what you have done and are trying to do for our country. You gave your youth and devoted your life for the good of this country. You are one of the very few American politicians that we could know would put country first. We would sleep better at night knowing you were at the helm.
Thank you for giving us a glimpse of what kind of REAL change could have been brought to Washington. Thank you for your proven record of cleaning up corruption and courageously doing the ‘right thing’ in spite of the political risk to yourself. Thank you for your honor, courage, integrity and grit. You should be President. I truly believe you would be among the greatest of our Presidents.
You inspired many of us to stand up and fight, to work hard and to put country first. You reminded many of us that America still produces real heroes and real patriots. You gave many of us hope for a better future for our country.
As the mother of an American Soldier, I thank you for caring about our military and understanding the sacrifices made by those young men and women that so many in our country have put out of their minds. You, more than anyone, have understood how badly we need and should appreciate that thin green line that stands between us and danger. Thank you for never forgetting them. Thank you for never giving up and never giving in.
Many of our nation stand proudly with you.
Thank you and God bless you.
Beth, a Blue Star Mother
I’m going to fight to make sure every American has every reason to thank God, as I thank Him: that I’m an American, a proud citizen of the greatest country on earth, and with hard work, strong faith and a little courage, great things are always within our reach. Fight with me. Fight with me.
Fight for what’s right for our country.
Fight for the ideals and character of a free people.
Fight for our children’s future.
Fight for justice and opportunity for all.
Stand up to defend our country from its enemies.
Stand up for each other; for beautiful, blessed, bountiful America.
Stand up, stand up, stand up and fight. Nothing is inevitable here. We’re Americans, and we never give up. We never quit. We never hide from history. We make history.
Thank you, and God Bless you.
~ John McCain, September 2008

Nice speech but I think the people running your campaign didn’t do it very well, were too negative, in denial, and lost the ability to empathize with the very voters they were trying to get. The issues we face are bigger than personalities and “gotcha” and the bush style of campaigning. Then you gave a nice speech that was the old Mccain style with the ability to empathize with the audience and mentioning the big issues we face and the need to pull together. I think you just didn’t have the right people with the right brain power or temperment to really make the case and win. I don’t think the republicans really get what is bothering so many Americans about the course our nation has taken the last 8, or really 12 years. Its beyond partisan or any catch word to clean up washington.

Brian – the cult of ‘personalities’ and ‘gotcha’ was not on the Republican side. You can’t really say that seriously can you?
McCain was the man who stood with the people. Obama scoffed and laughed at the common people. He made fun of us. Didn’t you hear him? Did you just choose not to hear it?

And you can’t even be gracious in victory. Why are democrats so bitter and angry and hateful constantly. You can’t play the victim role any longer. you have control of the White House, and a have had control of Congress for the past 2 years (a fact dems love to forget).
How much control do the dems need before they start acting like adults and quit whining about being victimized?

also to race, obama has both white and black nervous systems and cultures in him and seems to have a knack of taking the best from both. Having more than one nervous system in you, if they mesh right gives one an advantage. Look at the mess that white rule has made in the past decades. Even the white rule on wallstreet nearly sunk the global capitalist economy. I don’t think people get that yet. It was too inbred and in denial. So we called in a new interior designer and he happens to look black. Don’t you ever watch Top Design? There is a lot there about what works in human creativity. When the inbreds offer nothing but disaster you have to look outside the box. I have no problem with that at all but then I like Indian Buffets and learn so much each time I get to eat at a good one.

Leftist ideology is NOT adult, it is based on emotion, not reason. Asking them to be good winners is to forget how cowardly bullies celebrate when they beat up the hated victim.
Obama ran one of the most corrupt campaigns in recent history and won’t pay any price.
Good luck, Barry, on that governing thing as the working people you count on to steal from decide to throttle back on wealth producing.

white and black nervous systems? my oh my. Brian, go outside and take a long, long walk. races dont rule. you are right on the edge for another ban for intolerance.
November 4th, 2008 at 11:57 pm
obama has both white and black nervous systems
Oh my, one of the most blatant rac*st statements I’ve seen.
RACE is a social construct, a biological MYTH. “nervous systems” have no melanin level!!
Brian, aren’t you ashamed?

The left has used race throughout this election to try to bully their way into the White House. Oh wait – it worked – that and a Billion Dollars from unknown sources.

oh mccain, its well known when you mix breeds of dogs or races of people you get an interesting and often improved product. If you simply breed a dog to be pure you get imbalances and weaknesses. Some genes come from your father and some from your mother and if they are different races you are biracial. I deal in reality. I find that when you look at the particulars of cultures, attitudes, and behaviors, the mix creates an interesting individual who has a base to work with that is actually better than the pure breds. Mutts are good!! There has been some interesting papers on the evolution of nervous systems and traits. Its just a fact. You guyz need to be more scientific in your analysis of the world. Science and art, at least in todays world should try to avoid being PC or tools of the state. By the way, races are real, and the intermixing is amazing in the results, usually good too.

oh my …
i can see these next eight years will be a bad time to be white …

my father’s people are french canadian … he is part iroquois, does that count? even if i look completely white?
November 5th, 2008 at 2:23 am
but as for the thread …
i voted republican, for the first time, FIVE times in this election … and for what?
weren’t you republicans supposed to cheat or something … like in 2000 or 2004?
i mean please … i lose my republican virginity … FIVE times in one day … and i got nothing out of it! i voted thrice in massachusetts, one in new hampshire and once in ilinois … and you didn’t win.
ok ok … five times is more than the first time i lost my virginity … but this time … it wasn’t good for me …
i am very disappointed in mccain …
November 5th, 2008 at 2:26 am
i promised my mother i would never do certain things …
and … well … i’ve done most of them … but …

Democrats aren’t adults? That was one hell of a fine adult standing up there accepting the Presidency of these United States last night.
One thing I noticed was how quiet and respectful the Chicago crowd was during McCain’s concession speech, while the bitter Phoenix crowd kept booing and muttering. I think we saw who the adults were last night. We also saw who the American people are. Democracy is a beautiful thing.

Sandy – you can’t be the victim anymore. Your party is in control (and has been for the past two years) – now you have the White House too. You have no more excuses for your bitterness. So set it aside.
November 5th, 2008 at 4:28 am
No bitterness, Beth. Pure joy. Today is a great day for America. The Republican party will have to accept that they have become an all-white anachronism, while the rest of us Great, Great Americans move forward and create the future. It suddenly looks as bright as the sun. I’ll be floating on air all day.
