The U.S. presidential election is over sooner than expected. Barack Obama wins the state of Ohio. Currently leading in the vote count, FoxNews has called Ohio for Obama.
Right Pundits also projects that Barack Obama will win the state of Florida, proving the pre-election projections correct. Obama will exceed 300 electoral votes when all the votes are counted and will claim a socialist mandate in Washington.
With the state of Ohio in his win column, Obama wins the presidency become the nation’s 44th president and 1st openly socialist-leaning president.
We will have much more to say on the election tonight and tomorrow so stay tuned.

met me be the first to say: yaaaaaaayyyyy!!!!!!! It’s been real, rights.
November 4th, 2008 at 6:50 pm
The only good thing about this election is that it’s at least decided early so I can go to bed and get a good night’s sleep. A Obama presidency. Who would have ever guessed our country would be so taken with a shyster.
November 4th, 2008 at 6:51 pm
Hooorah!!!!!
I would now very much like to see McCain slaughtered so he cant claim Obama cheated.
the race isnt over yet.
November 4th, 2008 at 6:57 pm
Very happy. Time to celebrate. After that, get ready for a difficult road ahead, the challenges are enormous.
November 4th, 2008 at 7:05 pm
This is no time for snark. I think it’s so wonderful that so many people are turning out to vote. That in itself is really awesome. And hey, if you really hate the idea of President Obama that much… Come on up to Canada. We’ve got the whole Conservative government thing on lock, so you can vacation with us until Palin 2012
November 4th, 2008 at 7:18 pm
I want to thank the guys that run this website for allowing me to participate. I am sorry to see the route that America chose tonight; I know what we Christians are going to have to face, I’ve been there already. May God have mercy on America, and grant us a revival like in the times of Charles Finney, and bring us back to God because this nation has lost its way.
Again, thanks for this site and for being so kind to allow me to share a word here.

So – how long till Iran nukes us?
November 4th, 2008 at 7:39 pm
george bush has already socialized in part, the banks and possibly corporations next. He has socialized the risk to the taxpayer of these entities while still allowing their management to take home the profits. Whatever obama does won’t be anything more extreme than this.
November 4th, 2008 at 7:40 pm
And how quickly can my son get out of the military? Obama hasn’t got a clue about how to use the military and will misuse them and get way too many killed.
He’ll abandon Iraq just as it is stabalizing and the Iraqis will have to deal with the invasion of Iran without American support.
November 4th, 2008 at 7:43 pm
AND – the ‘do nothing’ Congress that got voted in 2 years ago, brought on our current economic crisis, is full of open corruption and has the lowest approval rating of any Congress EVER is now in charge of the White House as well.
So people voted for business as usual in Washington instead of having the courage for change and shaking things up.
Well, we have gotten what we deserve, I suppose.
Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi with even more power than they’ve had the last two years. Frightening.
November 4th, 2008 at 7:59 pm
Haters…Talk that crap. I bet you live in the southern or midwest states where the mother and father are sister and brother. Congress didnt cause the mess Bush policies did. And the military has been misused for the last 7 years. we f$%ked up Irac and you are worried about Iran attacking Irac…IDIOT! This nation has been lost for the last 8 years.
November 4th, 2008 at 8:05 pm
You people are terrible. An Obama presidency translates into a “socialist mandate”? Please.
So what would a Sarah Palin presidency translate into then? Mass lobotomies?
November 4th, 2008 at 8:05 pm
Yes “haters” yawn, the Obama campaign message of hope. Bebe, tell us what you expect President Obama to do in the next 4 years other than whining like you? And what are we all suppose to hope for together exactly?
November 4th, 2008 at 8:28 pm
Well about the only good news is with the results tonight is that there wont be rioting in the streets!!

Dudes! How is that a violation?! I said we have a bright future! There was nothing even remotely controversial in that post!
November 4th, 2008 at 8:35 pm
I even said John McCain’s speech was really nice! How is THAT a violation?!
Jeepers!
November 4th, 2008 at 8:48 pm
Rightpundits don’t believe in democracy.
Just look at how they turned on Dixville Notch after they voted for Obama after the town had voted Republican the last three presidential elections. Suddenly the same town seems to be full of alcoholics who are out of touch. At least according to this blog.
November 4th, 2008 at 8:49 pm
at this point your anti-Obama rhetoric doesnt count for squat. Obama is the new president. Deal with it or move!
wow…that felt good!
seriously though. Obama won. You can either choose to be bitter or you can join the rest of us and try to put this country back on the right track. Your nasty Obama comments arent going to change anything
November 4th, 2008 at 8:57 pm
Sore losers, too. Can you imagine if he would’ve lost. There would’ve been things burning for sure.
November 4th, 2008 at 9:02 pm
I will start by saying “I told you so, Right Pundits.”
And…
HAHAHAHAHHAHAHH HAHAHAHA HA HAHA HA HAH AH HA HA H AHH AH AHA HAH HAHHA HAH AH AHAH AHA!
I told everyone that the polls were correct. And I was within a few electoral votes, too.
Long live Democracy. Thank you and goodnight.

Barack Obama comes into office as the most divisive president in American history. His negatives are already higher than any Bush experienced in his first term.
Yes, let’s put the country back on the right track by turning Obama’s socialist movement into an abysmal failure so that anti-American revolutionaries can be defeated again in 2010. It’s not so far away.
Kathy, I think you mean sore winners. Never seen such ingracious winners as Obama. Resist everything the Marxists do.

November 4th, 2008 at 9:10 pm
Ingracious winners? I’m sorry, but in McCain’s speech, I heard people booing loudly at the mention of Barack Obama’s name. Did anyone boo loudly when Obama mentioned John McCain? NO. Because that’s just plain rude and totally ridiculous at this point.
So just zip it already and stop being such a killjoy. Jeepers.

You have to admit… Obama’s speech was inspiring.
November 4th, 2008 at 9:47 pm
Yes it was. And so was McCains. That is exactly what is needed. No more “I told you so”, twisting of the knife, and other pointless banter that promotes nothing but more resentment.
November 4th, 2008 at 9:50 pm
A humble, inspiring speech aimed at all Americans. I have high hopes for this man.
November 4th, 2008 at 9:53 pm
Me too, Jay. I think this will have great implications that spread far beyond the US. But how wonderful that SO many younger people came out this year and made a point of voting. I feel like Obama will inspire young people to be more patriotic and help them to believe that they have a bright future. It’s a very exciting time… I think we should all be very happy tonight.

November 4th, 2008 at 10:08 pm
What an amazing night, and what an amazing candidate. I’m still in a state of disbelief, but I’m also more hopeful for my country that at any point in the last eight years.
Maybe, just maybe, this stunning defeat will force the Republicans to go back to being Conservative, instead of being the party of hate and division.
November 4th, 2008 at 10:09 pm
MCCAIN, sorry but I find it hard to take any of your claims seriously after you argued that McCain would win.
November 4th, 2008 at 10:10 pm
Obama is the Great Uniter.
For those who want to make excuses and say that race was an advantage for Obama, I want to make sure it’s understood: race was only an advantage for Obama because he was a great candidate. It’s not as if Jesse Jackson could have run this year and won. If Obama was not a good candidate, you can bet his race would have been a distinct disadvantage for him. Be clear on the distinction: it doesn’t say a lot about us that America elected a black president, that’s just the shorthand the media uses. It says a lot that a great candidate happened to be black, and his race did not hamper his electability – amazingly, it enhanced it, but that advantage would not have materialized if he were not a suitable candidate in the first place.
I just hope Obama can live up to his promise. He’s saying all the right things. I am tired of partisan politics. I loved that when McCain called Obama to concede, Obama told McCain was going to need his help. Now that is a refreshing change, a politician willing to admit help. I’m sure Obama will be seeking McCain’s counsel on foreign affairs.
I will also go back to old posts (and comments) on this site someday, read them, and have a good laugh. A sampling of headlines “Zogby Poll: McCain Leads Obama”,”McCain Lead In Early Voting Surprise”, “Obama and the Bradley Effect”,”New York Magazine Declares Obama Winner!”(along with accompanying “Dewey Defeats Truman” photo), “The Polls Say It’s A Tie!” and so on …

Hey Wanda & Tonya (Smile)
November 4th, 2008 at 10:31 pm
I did not fight my ass off for the last two years so I could do the kumbaya thing.
My mind has not changed one bit.
Nothing has changed other than the fact that Obama will be our president.
The man is dangerous and yes, there will be plenty of I told you sos.
The man has no record whatsoever of being a uniter.
The leftist media, hatred for Bush, and McCains crappy campaign are the only reason he lost.
The right man lost for all the wrong reasons.
But thats OK. This is the cycle our system takes and the next four years will only serve as an example to all the things we warned everyone about.
Obama will be a one term president that the masses will loath by his 2nd year.
And a republican will be elected in 2012.
We will have our work cut out for us, we will not get along as some of these delusional idiots believe, and we will not move to Canada.
One thing you will not see me doing is treating the man as unfairly as the left has treated Bush.
Those who voted for Obama would serve themselves well to not be too exuberant untill the man actually delivers , seeing as how he has never really delivered anything before I wouldnt get my hopes too high
November 4th, 2008 at 10:34 pm
regardless of your end of the earth prognostications, I predicted obama would win and once again delivered with cunning accuracy the unfolding of our new reality beforehand with no handicapps, no hedging, no lumbering. Just the straight fact of what would occure and it has.
November 4th, 2008 at 10:49 pm
Congratulations President Barack Obama. Your ideas, attitudes and vision mirror those of the vast majority of the people of the United States of America. Let’s all follow the lead of John McCain and pledge to give our support to the new President of the United States of America and start the healing of the divisions that have been introduced into this country. God Bless the United States of America.
November 4th, 2008 at 11:35 pm
Micky,
I’ll just pray that Obama won’t let us suffer a devastating attack upon our shores as George Bush did during his watch on September 11th, 2001.
I trust that you will hope for the same.
November 5th, 2008 at 9:26 am
Thomas.
That was outrageously stupid.
That attack was allowed by the man that was getting his dck sucked while Al Queda planned it.
Even after the first trade tower attack was on his watch he still was complacent in dealing with the threat.
Nice try bub. Weak, really weak.
At least Bush went after them, I cant say that much for Clinton.
November 5th, 2008 at 10:46 am
Micky: At least uber-conservatives like MCCAIN on this site make a little sense sometimes. You exude SUCH hatred… Why?
TO RP.org: You all talk of sore winners…Well, what about sore losers, huh? Booing Obama’s name?! WTF kinda of example does that show to the rest of the world?
Our standing in the world is changing. Racists around the country are showing their hands, making them targets for ridicule and legal actions. Fred Phelps, the KKK, National Alliance, and many others are going to perform violent, bloody acts of intolerance against this country. In doing so, they will be prosecuted in front of the people of the USA.
This is an end to the era of the White Man. We are no longer the big dogs we once were. It is time to climb off our pedestals and joined the rest of the world and its’ many races and cultures.
The true essence of freedom and equality range out true, last night. This country is NOT big gov’t…This country is people, micky. Just people, like you and I. People who want nothing more than to be happy. People who want their families to be happy.
Obama IS change. I am not going to say he has all the answers or even ANY of the answers.
What I will say is: ‘wait and see’. There is a great possibility that maybe… Just maybe…he may surprise us.

Where is Brian??
Well…….so now the reps have shown their hate and prejudices…..no surprise….
Even granpa Mac didnt like when the reps gathered in his speech began to boo Obama….definetly our country was driven by ignorant people supporting bush and cheney who only used them to follow their desires of amassing even more money thant they had, protecting their companies in the middle east….
But no, now that is over and they saw they lost, they turn to hate and insults…..shame on you…
