According to the Drudge Report the Obama campaign has decided to remove three newspapers from their airplane. Oh yeah, these happen to be three newspapers that endorsed John McCain for President. The Dallas Morning News, the Washington Times and the NY Post were given their walking papers (no pun intended) today, despite their protests. In their place reporters from two black magazines, Essense and Jet will take their place. The Washington Times response followed:

“This feels like the journalistic equivalent of redistributing the wealth, we spent hundreds of thousands of dollars covering Senator Obama’s campaign, traveling on his plane, and taking our turn in the reporter’s pool, only to have our seat given away to someone else in the last days of the campaign,” said Washington Times Executive Editor John Solomon. “I hope the candidate that promises to unite America isn’t using a litmus test to determine who gets to cover his campaign.”

Ouch! Yeah, I would look forward to more of this kind of behavior should Obama get elected. I don’t ever remember a more arrogant presidential campaign, they even surpass Nixon in that department. However, there is good news for the Washington Times:

“There are simply no more seats on Senator Obama’s plane,” Annita Dunn added. “There are press seats available on Senator Bidens plane for travel this final weekend and The Washington Times is encouraged to include our vice presidential nominee in your coverage plans for this final stretch.”

Actually, in some ways Biden’s plane is probably more fun to be on, plenty of seating for all, alcohol is obviously flowing (how else do you explain the asinine crap that Biden says half the time). So, if I were these reporters I would buck it up, the Obama campaign has graciously allowed you to cover the B team. Its either that or the gulag, you can choose.
