Actress Janine Turner is one of a growing number of women (and men) who are part of Team Sarah and encouraging others to join the team. Turner has been on a number of television shows recently explaining her reasons for supporting Sarah Palin as John McCain’s vice presidential candidate.

Janine Turner Biography

Janine Loraine Gauntt was born on December 6, 1962 in Lincoln, Nebraska. She is 45-years-old. She is the daughter of Turner M. and Janice Gauntt. Her father is a pilot who attended West Point and flew for Braniff Airlines. Her mother is a real estate agent. She has one brother, Tim. Both of her parents were from Texas and raised their children in Texas.

Turner began modeling for the Wilhelmina Modeling Agency. In 1980, she got an acting part on the hit television drama, Dallas. She is best known as the emmy nominated actress who played the feisty bush pilot, Maggie O’Connell, on the hit show, Northern Exposure. From 2000 – 2002 she appeared in the Lifetime television series Strong Medicine.

Turner has written a book, Holding Her Head High: Inspiration from 12 Single Mothers Who Championed Their Children and Changed History.

Turner lives with her daughter, Juliette Tuner-Jones, on a cattle ranch outside Dallas, Texas.
