There is an emerging controversy over last night’s debate. Barack Obama told a lie when he claimed that someone yelled “kill himâ€? when presidential hopeful Barack Obama’s name was mentioned during this past Tuesday’s Sarah Palin rally in Scranton, Pennsylvania.
Obama’s claim is not substantiated by the Secret Service, which has reviewed the matter. It is noted that Agent Bill Slavoski was in the audience, along with an undisclosed number of additional secret service agents and other law enforcement officers, and not one heard the comment. I know that the agents take such threats or comments seriously and immediately opened an investigation, which has since been closed. They closed the investigation because there is NO PROOF that anyone made this horrible statement.
So why did Obama lie about the “Kill Him” Allegation by repeating it in the debate? These allegations are very serious, but the problem is after an investigation nobody can corroborate it.
Repeating a lie about the “Kill Him” allegation is simply wrong. Media types need to correct their record (yeah sure they will).

Watch him when he talks about Ayers. He looks off to the right and has to choose his words carefully.
The liberal kool-aid drinks will believe this even though the Secret Service says it never happened.

When McCain called him on it, reminding him of Ayers’ 2001 comments, Scheiffer changed the question, but gave an opportunity for Obama to discuss it later – Obama never did.

Obama didn’t lie.
He accurately stated that the media widely reported, that “terrorist” and “kill him” were yelled out.
The response from the McCain camp was well candidates cannot always hear whats said, and were not responsible.

Unless you live in a vacuum it’s impossible for you not to know that Obama made a true, accurate statement. McCain lied when he said that he does not support the outcries and have always discouraged it each time it happened. That is a lie, there was so much outrage and media coverage McCain was shamed into admon-ishing his supporters—to which they responded by booing him. I couldn’t believe he’d insult America’s intelligence by outright lying but now I understand, there are so many people who are not informed as indicated by this post. It reminded me of how Sarah Palin
sincerely stated that she was cleared of all
charges and did not break any laws even though the report has been made public for all to read.

Hey George: people in glass houses should not throw stones…or did you just convieniently forget the last 8 years of Mr. President Bush? And even if “kill him” wasn’t said, I have seen the videos of people yelling “off with his head” and “terrorist”! Don’t you think that’s bad enough. And Ms. Palin just kept right on talkin. And another thing, the rest of you need to start listening to Obama when he has consistantly told us all about his relationship with Mr. Ayers who is now working for a University…OMG he knows another person, wow, shocker. Why not ask McCain and Palin about their involvement with the shady caracters like Mr. Keating, and how bout Palin’s involvment with the Alaska group who wanted to succeede from the union? Not to mention her own ethics in office. And if you want to push ethics, at least Obama never cheated on and divorced his wife like McCain did to the woman who was with him when he was a POW. Although Ayers admitted to committing domestic terrorism when Obama was 8 It is still a fact that Obama knowing this choose to associate with him politically and in community efforts after discovering this.
Had somewhere along the line Ayers shown some repentance or remorse for his actions it would justify Obamas association with him at this point.
Instead, up til this day Ayers has claimed that he wished he’d done more and that he hadn’t done enough.
The man carries the same level of hatred for his country as he did in the 70s but is just employing it in a different fashion.
The real issue at stake is how Obama first tried to minimize the relationship to nothing more than a guy in the hood, to someone he met in passing, to someone he worked with on occasion and now it turns out that they were both community activists who worked together on educational initiatives for 2 years.
Same thing with Rev. Wright.
He lies by omission of the details at first and then when it all catch’s up with him the story changes.
Everything he does and says is about expediency.
Another example would be his constant position on troop withdrawals.
In order to appeal to the far left before the primaries he was telling you all that he would pull troops out immediately. After that it was in 6 months, then it was 16 months.

As Liv points out, the polls have shown a general trend towards McCain this past week. The polls need to be taken with a grain of salt, but i think it’s safe to say that Obama is no longer in a double-digit lead. Likely somewhere in the 4 to 6 neighborhood.

Yes, the nat. polls have moved – I would submit since the second debate. I caught a trend among independents moving toward MAC since that second debate and up to the third.
