Tina Fey was back again this week on Saturday Night Live playing Republican Vice Presidential candidate Governor Sarah Palin and mocking her recent interview with Katie Couric of CBS News. You can read more about it and watch the video below.

The skit, which opened the show, centered around Sarah’s recent trip to New York to meet with world leaders at the UN World Summit and her comments about Russia. It also featured Amy Poehler playing Katic Couric. She had played Hillary Clinton in the previous skit that had introduced Fey as Palin. We have the real Couric/Palin interview here at Right Pundits.

Fey recently won an emmy for her work on “30 Rock” and said of her playing Governor Palin on SNL:

“I want to be done playing this lady Nov. 5,” she said. “So if anybody can help me be done playing this lady Nov. 5, that would be good for me.”

It seems one of the unfair things in politics (among many) is that you are sometimes remembered for what you didn’t say. Sarah Palin never said, “I can see Russia from my house. Saturday Night Live did. But I bet when we look back at the 2008 campaign, many Americans thanks to SNL, will believe that Sarah actually did say it.
