Apparently, the latest attack on Vice Presidential Candidate, Governor Sarah Palin has been the hacking of her personal Yahoo email account. It has been reported that some of the contents have been posted on the internet. Read more about this below.
It seems that troublemaking internet grifters known only as “Anonymous” have taken credit for the hacking. Screenshots of e-mail messages and photos belonging to Governor Palin have been published by WikiLeaks. That site is down at this posting.
The cache of stolen data posted by Wikileaks contained a list of Palin’s e-mail contacts, two photos of her children and screenshots from Governor Palin’s account, including the text of an e-mail exchange with Alaska Lt. Gov. Sean Parnell about his campaign for Congress.
A second screenshot shows Palin’s inbox and a third shows the text of an e-mail from Amy McCorkell, whom Palin appointed to the Governor’s Advisory Board on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse in 2007.
McCorkell’s e-mail of support to Palin, tells her not to let negative press get to her and asks Palin to pray for McCorkell, who writes that “I need strength to 1. keep employment, 2. not have to choose.” McCorkell was contacted by the media and has confirmed that was indeed her email.
The McCain camp has released this statement:
“This is a shocking invasion of the Governor’s privacy and a violation of law. The matter has been turned over to the appropriate authorities and we hope that anyone in possession of these emails will destroy them. We will have no further comment.
This incident is a federal crime and apparently being investigated by the Secret Service. Check out a few of the other crimes against the Palin family that has been committed by those with Palin Derangement Syndrome. Some suggest this latest feckless personal attack in a string of outrageous intrusions against Sarah Palin and her family will only help her in the end. I certainly hope so.

sure. she is caught braking the law AGAIN. that will surely help the mcbush campaign.
September 17th, 2008 at 2:44 pm
It’s “breaking” not “braking”
September 17th, 2008 at 2:52 pm
How was she the one caught breaking the law?
BTW, if we can attribute this to an Obama supporter, it will have a backlash effect.

Use of a personal email account for government business is illegal, as it bypasses government accountability and records-keeping laws. Note: this is true for Federal employees; I’m not sure of the laws for employees of the State of Alaska, but I expect it’s the same.

Yahoo email has a password retrieval service in case you forget your password, which asks you a secret question like “What is your pet’s name” - so if she set it to something publicly known, like “What is your pet’s name” or “What is your zip code” it would be child’s play to access it.

“I’m not sure of the laws for employees of the State of Alaska”
You should be sure before you call something illegal.
September 17th, 2008 at 3:02 pm
Too bad Anon did it, and Anon is a fervent supporter of Ron Paul, not Obama.
Sucks to be you, Rethugs.
September 17th, 2008 at 3:02 pm
Who said it was for “government business?” Sounds like the message from the Lt. Gov. was personal.
September 17th, 2008 at 4:03 pm
My guess would be a fervent Obama supporter , terrified the Chosen One might lose, decided to throw morals and ethics away in pursuit of his/her dreams. And 15 minutes of infamy. What a coward ! So low he/she would need a step ladder to reach up and kiss a snakes azz.

Justin, truth doesn’t matter, all that matters is they want a gotcha moment. The fact that this is a terrible invasion of privacy doesn’t matter. If it happened to Obama they would be calling Bush Hitler, etc. Loonies.
September 17th, 2008 at 4:53 pm
Hackers and trolls lack morals, period. Their choice of political party says nothing about the party itself (unless, of course, they were acting as agents of the party, with permission from the party, but there’s no evidence of that).
This incident could prompt a bipartisan push to advance anti-hacking security measures and protection for victims of online crimes. But I imagine it will only prompt the same yo republcian mama this yo democrat mama that platitudes. Ho hum.

This is truly sad. I’m guessing this was an Obama supporter, but I doubt Obama is stupid enough to have any involvement in this. I’m also guessing whoever did this was smart enough to get away with it. Oh well.
September 17th, 2008 at 5:44 pm
So, Ignatius, if the person who did this says he/she/is an Obama supporter, that will settle it?
What if - think a minute - they are McCain supporters who are MASQUERADING as Obama supporters to bring discredit to The One Republicans Fear???
Maybe that’s what it is, Colonel Mustard.
You people are so utterly pathetic and lame.
Really.
September 17th, 2008 at 6:46 pm
Bebe, the one the republicans fear was Clinton. This new guy with the funny name and a whole of baggage…never even made us sweat.
September 17th, 2008 at 6:56 pm
Who ever did it , its a serious breach of ethics and immoral on any ones part to hack personal emails.
September 17th, 2008 at 6:57 pm
These are not correct ways of fighting the battle against a strong VP candidate.
Reminds me “THE CONTENDER” movie
September 17th, 2008 at 6:58 pm
These should be taken to justice
September 17th, 2008 at 8:54 pm
Apparently the Obama campaign is behind this.
September 17th, 2008 at 9:08 pm
Well, they’re always bragging about how tech savy they are and how McCain doesnt know how to use a computer.
I was wondering if you guys could make an addition to your comment policy ?
Anyone who critiques anyones spelling or grammar will be banned.
I’m so tired of these guys.
If I chose to use spellcheck or not who cares ?
As long as it doesnt add to much confusion whats the big deal if we miss a letter here and there ?
It is considered being off topic isnt it ?
Unless its a pop quiz or something.
I type all day and besides that I’m very busy. I dont always have time to make my sh*t all pretty and stuff.
Just get what I say, alright ?
September 17th, 2008 at 9:10 pm
Opps , sorry.
Correction;
As long as it doesnt add to much confusion ?
Should say;
“As long as it doesnt add “too” much confusion”
Oh my, now you’ll have to ban me for going after myself ?
September 17th, 2008 at 9:12 pm
Bebe, maybe it was you !!
Or Hillary ?
September 17th, 2008 at 10:00 pm
Welcome to the lower 48 Sarah. You’ve got to be savier than that. I mean, really, a yahoo account. Yahoo accounts are for trivial things like fantasy football, registering with game sites and leaving blog comments. You know, like the yahoo account I used for this site…Not Important Things like illegally (or at the LEAST, unethically) circumventing the government provided email account to communicate with your Deputy Governer
September 17th, 2008 at 11:53 pm
Even if Obama did approve of the hacking, or had knowledge of it, there is nothing illegal about that.
September 18th, 2008 at 4:06 am
So Mccain has come out against the Sarah Palin hacking, siting the fact that its against the law. The next logical step would be to wonder if Mccain will finally go ahead and come out against the Patriot Act since it indeed has “sneak and peak” provisions in it that allow the government to hack into people’s emails, and seeing that the Patriot Act is a direct violation of the constitution. In other words will Mccain be consistent on this particular principle or is he practicing selective law abiding to simply suit his agenda?

You guys feared Hillary???
Nice try.
I seem to remember during the primaries how many Repubs crossed party lines to vote for Hillary, so that she would be the nominee.
I heard from so many Repubs that they “knew” they could beat Hillary - no matter who the R nominee was, but they weren’t sure they could beat Obama.
Seems that is still the case.
