Cindy McCain, the wife of Senator John McCain, is mad at the ladies of The View for attacking her and her husband in an interview last week. Read more about this and see the video in question below.
Cindy McCain and her husband, Republican Presidential Nominee Senator John McCain, were on the show last Friday.
They were asked a wide variety of questions that included selecting Governor Sarah Palin as VP to the issues surrounding a potential overturn of Roe vs. Wade. They were even questioned repeatedly about their use of the word “reform” in their campaign.
Joy Behar, one of the View ladies even told John McCain that two of his campaign ads are “untrue” and “lies.” To which Senator McCain denied and defended the use of the ads.
Later at a dinner reception, Cindy McCain made comments about the show and its coverage while she addressed a crowd about their visit at The View (emphasis mine):
“In spite of what you see … in the newspapers, and on shows like ‘The View’ — I don’t know if any of you saw ‘The View’ yesterday, they picked our bones clean — in spite of what you see, that’s not what the American people are saying and what they are believing.”
When asked about the interview with the McCains, Whoopi Goldberg simply defended The View saying the questions were fair, especially since McCain is a presidential candidate. She said that they will ask Sen. Barack Obama similarly tough questions the next time he is on The View.
Since The View is known for their lopsided political rants and outrageous comments, why do I doubt the truthfulness of that statement?

This doesn’t really sound to me like she was attacking the View. Pretty lame story here.

If McCain can’t take the questions dished out by the ladies on the view, God help him when he has to debate with Obama. His ads have been proven to be lies, so his chickens came home to roost. The Washington Post, Bloomberg, The New York Times ect… have all printed articles about the lies McCain is spewing in his speeches and his ads. He wants to stop being called out for lying, then he needs to start telling the truth and nothing but the truth.

Now maybe people will see the media for what it is…when they finally come out and do their jobs, its a “controversy”. What a lame non-story stealing valuable attention away from the actual issues of this presidential race.

Steve, election manipulation by the media is an important story given constitutional protections that they enjoy.
Robin, he handled himself marvelously. That doesn’t change the media bias. And stop lying for Obama.

“Since The View is known for their lopsided political rants and outrageous comments, why do I doubt the truthfulness of that statement?”
Because you believe the Liberal Bias of the Media meme. How niased is Barbara Walters toward Barack Obama?
Once at a funraiser, Walters shook hands and told Obama “You ought to come on The View sometime.”
“I was,” he replied.
“Oh, I’m sorry I wasn’t there that week!”
“You were.”

What they will ask the next time Obama is on the view is not the issue. The issue is what they asked him the last time he was on it, before they were shown to be the partisan blathering idiots they are. When he was on the view last time, he got softball questions about his “historic run,” and even took a jovial picture with the cast. Give me a break. I am sick of these libs acting like they are treating everyone the same. Just admit that you are a bunch of partisan hacks. Same thing with Oprah not inviting McCain on her show, saying she didn’t want to use her show for political reasons. BS! Then why did she have Obama on it? Do they think that viewers are a bunch of idiots who don’t realize this stuff?

MCCAIN, I didn’t lie for Obama. Try searching on the New York Times site, or Bloomberg, or The Washington Post. They have all printed articles admonishing McCain for his countless lies. Trying doing a little research instead of listening to McCain ads on your television. You might learn something.

Comparing the Obama fluff interview with McCains on The View is quite a contrast. I am an independent and may not vote for either candidate. The lightweights on The View went after McCain with half truths and inunendoes! I got a kick out of the head lightweight,Joy Behar, saying people are surprised they are smart.Smart is the last term I would use for Joy. Lightweight is closer to the truth! All her so called facts are all wrong.Obama was the chosen one when he was on The View. Because of the lack of intelligence with that group, they just talked about the far left talking points.and had all the wrong assumptions. I won’t ever watch that show again. Disgraceful!

I did catch snippets of that episode at my health club while I was working out.
Those women were clearly biased. I admired the poise and restraint that the McCains exhibited. I’m sure they knew they were entering a den of lionesses.

I supported Ron Paul for President. McCain had a terrible week, just terrible. If McSame/Failen can’t answer a few fair and balanced questions from the Corporate Liberal “News” Media, Ready to Lead pause not.
The cognitive dissonance is real thick here!

remember rosie odonnell was the lead of the view till a feud broke out. I use to like Goldberg but she has left her artist/actor roots to become one more race monger. I do think Cindy McCain is a big part of the force behind John and the “ladies” probably smelled fresh blood in the water. The view is highly prejudical and if you were even a peacful taliban patriarch you would be disgusted by the spoiled and mouthness of these women of average intelligence of worldly events. June Clever was a genius compared to most of them, Hasselback aside as she comes through with something now and then.

Lame, indeed! No matter what your politics, Whoopi Goldberg’s joking about her fate under the original US Constitution was funny. It IS true that black people were once considered property. John McCain handled it badly. He took Whoopi’s joke as an attack. It wasn’t, but it did point out the irony of turning back the pages of time when the US has come so far.
There is a serious issue in the discussion of Constitutional issues, as well. Our founding fathers intended the Constitution to evolve. John McCain and his wife acted humorless and stiff. The View Ladies hardly picked their bones. If they wanted to do so, they would have talked about Cindy’s drug addiction and that the McCain marriage began with adultery, i.e., that McCain dumped Mrs. #1 after she was disfigured in an accident for a young millionaire blonde. Come to think of it, if Cindy weren’t rich and well connected, she would now be a felon, as she stole an MD’s DEA prescription number. And these snarky View ladies didn’t bring it up, did they? That would have been unfair and ugly. On the other hand, joking about the Constitution was funny.
Both McCains should lighten up, and it would help if Cindy weren’t stoned on Percoset in public appearances.

YOU sure turned into a pie thrower fast. Anyways, I don’t know why the McCain’s handlers would put them on that “snarky” show as it wouldn’t be to their benifit to be baited and snarked at by a bunch of spoiled overly paid American women, or whatever they are. Often people get too many pain killers for a condition or surgery and then get hooked and start finding creative ways to get them and to simply criminalize everyone doing this would fill our prisons three times over. Its more complicated than that or I am a bleeding heart liberal who knows nothing. I am sure a few of the women on the View have some baggage also and I don’t know how much of what you say is substantiated. Cindy is smart, and she has helped a lot of people in africa when she didn’t have to. I doubt the others on the view have. If she was operating in impoverished conditions with danger in africa I would cut her some slack.

Poor Cindy. Why is it when someone calls their BS they are being unfriendly and attacking them? The McCain campaign is realizing that they’re going so far south so fast (due to the fact that John is clearly being recognized as unqualified and unprincipled) that they will resort to negative and untruthful campaigning, as well as adopting ‘the liberal media is pickin on poor little old me’.
