Here is video of Sarah Palin’s latest speech in Golden, Colorado. Ms. Palin is on a campaign tour of the western swing states of Nevada, Colorado and New Mexico.
In the Colorado speech she makes a strong case for entrusting the McCain-Palin ticket with our faltering economy. The message is that of a political outsider, which argues that the GOP candidates will be better able to put needed reforms past the good old boys in the entrenched Washington establishment.
“Washington has been asleep at the switch and ineffective, while management on Wall Street has not run these institutions responsibly by putting companies and markets at risk.”
She sold out the event which was then moved to Westernaires Arena at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds to accommodate the 5,000 family-friendly supporters who came to hear her solutions.
Away from the venue, a few Obama supporters protested without a specific message, but were muted by the frenzied interest in this historical vice presidential candidate. Enthusiasm for Sarah Palin shows no signs of abetting, with high school girls reportedly cutting classes to catch a glimpse of the woman who is blazing a trail to more opportunities for their futures.

High school girls cutting class? Ha. I think they would find any excuse to do that
As for Colorado, it just moved in to McCain’s favor according to Rasmussen/Fox News. The bigger news for me was that Pennsylvania is now tied. The national polls are tightening, but it looks to me like a little nudge in a few states and we’re looking at a landslide. Obama can only win in a very close race, however.

I’m sorry, but hasn’t McCain been a gold old boy in the entrenched Washington establishment for the last 26 years?
War = Peace. 2 + 2 = 5. McCain = Reform

As opposed to the 3,000 out of 16,000 available seats McCain was able to get at Jacksonville’s Veteran Memorial Colosseum.
I’d link to pictures, but they might make you cry.

That’s not what I hear from Anchorage. 1,500 local Alaskan women demonstrated to reject Palin. 93 people supported. And that’s after right wing radio rallied them to show up.

That’s funny, Waldo. McCain/Palin are up 40% in Alaska. Obama will not even contest that state. If he does, he’s just wasting his money.
September 15th, 2008 at 5:31 pm
Ignat – I heard that Obama was planning to get to Alaska after he visits the other 56 states. He’s got to make his way through Ottawa, Ontario, Nova Scotia. Then he’s got to have his people locate Alaska on a GPS so he’ll know where it is and send out (or is it up) a Secret Service detail to make sure there aren’t any wild animals around when he stops by on his way to Vancouver.

There is so much that is crazy about this, I don’t know where to start.
The GOP candidates ARE the good old boys in Washington. This just ain’t gonna work for you. Stealing Obama’s theme of change–that might work. But it is just not going to work trying to say that McCain will cure the economy better than Obama. If the economy continues to go sour, it’s gonna hurt McCain, and help Obama. The best thing for McCain to do is to continue to try to draw the attention of the electorate elsewhere, and just shut up about the economy.

Isn’t this laying it on a little thick, MCCAIN? You reach a point where it is just laughable. You need to tone it down a little, esp. since just about the opposite is true. Also, I think that should be “historic” rather than “historical,” but I could be wrong.

Waldo, if you take another post off topic your commenting privilege will be suspended. Final warning. This post is about Sarah Palin speaking in Colorado.

The speech was good, and the anti-Washington, anti-Wall Street angle is really resonating.

Hmmm…I covered the Obama rally and talked to a camera man, who had just come from seeing Sarah. He said that the arena was less than half full – Obama filled a comparable sized arena beyond capacity in Pueblo. So, maybe Sarah’s shooting star is fading. Regardless, it is funny to me that she says Wall Street needs “reform.” She is touting regulation as a solution – doesn’t sound like a free-market Republican answer to me! It sounds like – a Democrat! In fact, McCain and Palin are sounding more and more like Obama everyday. While mimickry is the best flattery, maybe we’d all be better off voting for the person who is originating the policies, not just copying them. Obama ‘08. He’s a real agent of change.
September 16th, 2008 at 7:12 am
Wow. Palin/McSame are up 40% in Alaska!
What does Alaska have – like 3 electoral votes???
You guys are sounding way desperate. And pathetic.
September 16th, 2008 at 7:20 am
Whats desparate is when Obama saw Palin come into the picture and then after a year and a half of avoiding it realized he finally had to appear on the Factor.
Palin took away all the attention from him.
Poor baby couldnt handle that and went running to OReilly.
September 16th, 2008 at 7:55 am
And Obama did great,didn’t he?
Palin is gonna tank – just wait. It is coming, and soon.
Enjoy the celebrity – sorta like the ad McSame put out with Paris and Britney.
Who knew? Oh, yeah, the right wing evangelicals who are pulling McSame’s strings.
They knew.
They had their own version in Caribou Barbie.
OBAMA/BIDEN ‘08

“And Obama did great,didn’t he?”
Not really.
You probably think he did great only because it was a civil discussion.
What he told OReilly and what he has said otherwise make him out to be sort of a liar.
Obama mopped himself into a corner on this one.
http://www.foxnews.com/video2/video08.html?maven_referralObject=3085672&maven_referralPlaylistId=&sRevUrl=http://www.foxnews.com/yourworld/
Saying that “everyone in America will pay lower taxes than they did in the 90s is just an insult to anyones intelligence.
He had better straighten things out quick. Because between what he told OReilly in the interview and what Cavuto brought up (video above) hes got some explaining to do.
He also could not controvert that OReilly was right in calling his tax plans “wealth redistribution”
Also, O’Reilly didnt let Obama off the hook on the surge.
He told Obama;
“If it had been up to you and Joe Biden there would have been no surge.
But like the whimp that he is he then blamed President Bush for pre-surge problems.
He went on to say; “We reduced the violence, but Iraqis still haven’t taken responsibility.
Thats a bunch of crap. Political reconciliation absolutely is taking place.
And by the way he cant have it both ways. He has said that Anbar was cleaned out due to the Iraqis forcing out Al Queda and yet at the same time has said that Iraqis are not stepping up to the plate.
ASnd then when he was asked if he had friends on the right he said yes, but couldnt produce any names.
He also flip flopped on nuclear by saying he would agree to build nuclear power plants. This is a major policy shift.
I cant keep track of the guy anymore.
You may think he did well.
Actually, he was exposed for the liar and fraud that he is.
The rest of your post is the same ole opinionated hyperbol crap that would never get anyone elected.

I think that Obama comes across as smart, informed and concerned.
I think Joe Biden is experienced, accomplished intelligent and compassionate.
I think McCain comes across as old, grumpy, out of touch and a tool of the rightwing evangelicals.
I think Sarah Palin is an idiot.
September 16th, 2008 at 10:01 am
I think the moon is made of government cheese.
September 16th, 2008 at 10:30 am
Another informed Republican voter.
(But it was kind of humorous…):-)
September 16th, 2008 at 10:55 am
Yea, right.
Whats humorous is that you mock this republicans retention of information when so far on any thread the only info you offer is you’re opinion and dumb a$$ one liners.
You offer no examples, info , stats, documents or proof to back up your assertions and claims.
Which basically makes you irrelevant in any intelligent discusion that looks for conclusions or any debate.
September 16th, 2008 at 11:00 am
My opinion is just that – what documentation can I (or anyone)provide when what is being expressed is opinion, and not fact?
Lighten up, okay? You are sounding as grumpy as McSame.
September 16th, 2008 at 11:33 am
Bebe – Obama is up +5 in NY, +3 in NJ, tied in PA, tied in Michigan.
Those numbers should scare you. Any one of those lost, and Obama is not only done, he’s done in a landslide.
There are no “safe” states for Obama except Ill, Mass., a few insignificant New England States and possibly California.
Meanwhile McCain has pretty much guaranteed the South, and much of the Midwest.
The national polls will bounce again and again, but one thing is clear. Even if McCain loses, he won’t lose by much, because he has a lot of locked up states. Obama has very little to cling as “safe” at this point.
September 16th, 2008 at 2:57 pm
Winning is less important to me than the state of this country. I am backing Obama because I think the Republicans have made such a mess of things over the last 7+ years.
Regardless of what you Republicans think of Democrats, most of us love America as much as or more than you folks do.
It seems all you want is to see your candidate win at whatever cost to the future, the environment, the good of your fellow citizens.
I would have voted for John McCain in 2000 had he gotten the nomination.
But since then McCain’s ambition for the White House has changed him. He is not the same person he was, or maybe I was just duped.
But no more. The choice of Sarah Palin was a very foolish and cynical one, and the fact that McCain was likely coerced into choosing her tells me volumes about McCain.
I don’t want a female George Bush to run this country, and that is exactly what we will get if McCain loses and then dies in office.
September 16th, 2008 at 2:57 pm
I meant if McCain wins…guess that was a Freudian slip.
September 16th, 2008 at 3:46 pm
Learn to read Bebe. I said;
“You offer no examples, info , stats, documents or proof to back up your assertions and claims.”
Why would I expect any of the above to validate an opinion ?
You know what I’m talking about, you’re just being a pest.
I offer facts and stats, much the way Ignatius did also.
But to you it doesnt seem to matter whats real. You would rather base your decisions on whats conjured up in your mind mind.
You guys crack me up.
“She doesnt have a foriegn affairs platform”
“She’ll be just like Bush”
Cant have it both ways libs.
September 16th, 2008 at 4:12 pm
I didn’t say that Sarah Barracuda had no “foreign affairs platform”; I said she is a female George Bush. I also said she was an idiot.
See why we call you guys liars?
