Levi Johnston is Bristol Palin’s boyfriend and her baby daddy. The fact that he is the father of her baby has been no secret to the community in which they live. Read about it below and see photos of Levi Johnston.
Sherry and Keith Johnston are the parents of Bristol Palin’s boyfriend, Levi Johnston. They have had to have their phone disconnected. They have had to distance themselves from the world because the left would like to do whatever they can to make the lives of anyone connected with Sarah Palin and her family as absolutely miserable as possible.
The problem for them is, that anything they have come up with to try to present as a scandal on the part of Sarah Palin pales in comparison to the scandals that have surrounded Barack Obama throughout his campaign. A couple of teenagers, long-term boyfriend and girlfriend, get pregnant. How does that discredit Sarah Palin as a vice presidential candidate?
It doesn’t.
The star of the local hockey team is the boyfriend of the beautiful town girl. They date for over a year and she ends up pregnant. The baby is due in December. Yes, it complicates things for their lives, but it certainly doesn’t mean they are perverts or that their parents are somehow deviants that should be shunned and give up their careers.
Apparently, the fact that Bristol Palin was pregnant with her long time boyfriend, Levi Johnston’s baby was no secret in their hometown of Wasilla, Alaska. On his MySpace page, which hasn’t been updated in over a year, Johnston describes himself as a ‘f**kn’ redneck’. She’s 17 years old. He’s 18 years old. They are both seniors. Levi is described as ’smart’, a ‘good kid’ and ‘well liked’. Their friends say they have been ‘engaged’ for a while. Everyone knew she was pregnant.
Its an American story.
Of course, everyone would rather they finished school and waited till they were older … and married … to start a family. But they aren’t the first high school kids to be in this position.
Is there really anything else to say about this? Is there any reason to further humiliate these young people? Or should we, out of decency, let them live their lives as best they can?
Frankly, I’d rather have a candidate that has an unplanned pregnancy in the family than one who has Marxists beliefs he would impose on our culture. Wouldn’t you?
Perhaps the left can find policy issues that they disagree with Sarah Palin on rather than trying to tear her and her family apart?
Sarah Palin needs to look the American people in the eye and tell them to examine every aspect of her life and her family. And then demand that they do the same with the Obamas and the Bidens. Don’t think for a second that Obama asked the American people to leave Palin’s family alone because he was concerned about Palin. He doesn’t want people doing the same to his wife and children. Check her out. But don’t forget to do the same for Obama’s family and Biden’s family.
May the family with the least skeltons in their closets win.

No one cares about the kids. it is the hypocrisy of the parents.
If a the shoe was on the other foot the right leaning blogosphere would be apoplectic with joy.
September 2nd, 2008 at 12:00 am
It is the religious/political right that has made “family values an issue in American politics. On the specific issue of pregnancy, the anti-choice crowd has made it clear in their opposition to Roe v. Wade that they reject a privacy right, the legal underpinning of the decision, when it comes to pregnancy. There is no valid reason for Bristol Palin to have the only pregnancy in America in which the pregnant woman has a right to privacy. As ye sow, so shall ye reap.
September 2nd, 2008 at 12:01 am
Both sides go after the family every election, but this is getting ridiculous. The second Biden was announced the right went after his son, saying he was a lobbyist, and Obama was hypocritical for picking the father of a lobbyist. Now, it’s Sarah Palin’s daughter’s turn.
None of it matters, folks. We’re all looking for a magic bullet that wins this election. It doesn’t matter unless it hits the actual candidate.
I find it a little funny how both McCain and Obama publicly state that family is off limits, but then send their minions to attack half-brothers, daughters, sons, uncles, etc., etc.
September 2nd, 2008 at 12:18 am
Oh I think this is all fine and helps Sarah Palin in the end. Politico has a very good story up tonight about how uneasy camp Obama is about all the attention and ultimate sympathy she will get from undecided moms. The Victorias and Nice Trys of the world don’t matter ’cause they aren’t the votes McCain is going after.
By the way Victoria, you have it wrong about privacy rights which is amazing given the simplicity of the arguments on both sides of this issue. The argument is about what rights the unborn child should have constitutionally and morally. Those rights weighed against rights of selfish parents is THE fundamental debate between the pro and anti baby crowds.
September 2nd, 2008 at 1:52 am
I think I hear the theme song for the Beverley Hillbillies playing – did you see that tongue. Can someone say “white trash?” If Sarah girl can’t even monitor her teenage daughter – and how hard can that be. I monitor mine, I know whom she sees, how long, I also talk to my daughter about sex like twice a year remind her of concequences and how to avoid. Like super easy, we have a great relationship. Being a good parent starts at home. Sarah is not ready to be VP when she can’t even manage her own house. The right can disagree, but thats just hypocrisy speaking.
September 2nd, 2008 at 2:48 am
I say that if the Left succeeds in getting Sarah Palin knocked off our ticket, and they won’t, but if they do, it’s open season on Obama/Biden.
Everything goes. No holes barred. Balls to the Wall. Look under every nook and cranny at the entire Obama/Biden life history. And Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, et.al, as well.
We on the Right have been far too cautious. But we’re getting to the point, where we need to just let it all rip. We’re not quite there yet. If Palin gets dumped, that’s the tipping point. (Thankfully, John McCain is too courageous to let her go. And Sarah is too strong-willed not to stand up to them.)

The baby’s daddy don’t want kids according to his my space page. He’s a proud redneck– white people of lower socio-economic status in the United States or a “glorious lack of sophistication,” —lol
Why are they forcing these kids to get married?
Are they trying to make this look wholesome.
Redneck just wanted to have some good fun–not get tied down with the baby mama. Now this girl is knocked up so young. vagina will be so big now. let’s see if this guy will go thru with marrying her. The mama should be at home taking care of her 5kids. She put her career first before the kids. The daddy has pass DUIs. McCain must have been smoking the happy stick when he put her.
September 2nd, 2008 at 4:32 am
The issue is not Obama , Biden, Ms. Palin, or their families. The issue is McCain’s decision making process and his deception. It’s obvious he didn’t get adequate background information about Ms.Palin but claimed he did. I don’t want a President who screws up then tries to hide it.
September 2nd, 2008 at 4:47 am
Why do you write, “Is there any reason to further humiliate these young people?” after you also wrote, “Its an American story….Of course, everyone would rather they finished school and waited till they were older … and married … to start a family. But they aren’t the first high school kids to be in this position.”
I don’t think you meant to imply that this particular American story is one of humiliation – but do you see the contradiction that even your writing suggests? Which is not dissimilar how, no doubt, many parents are feeling for Palin & Bristol, and, very likely, their own similar situations?
Please – if you’re going to recognize that this situation happens enough to call it an American story, but then imply that they’re humiliated, explain why – why do you think they’re humiliated, if you’ve just written that it’s an American story – of humiliation?
September 2nd, 2008 at 5:02 am
Who uses family values as a wedge issue in elections? Answer: flying blind holier-than-thou conservative crowd like you! And so when you’re caught with your pants down, instead of admit your mistakes & accepting that we’re all human beings with weaknesses you start preaching to others about fairness?
My advice for flying blind holier-than-thou conservative crowd like you is this: live & let others live! Is that too much to ask for from holier-than-thou conservative crowd?
September 2nd, 2008 at 6:02 am
That girl is really ruining Levi’s life. I think this is not an American Story. Shotgun weddings are not okay when the girl tempts the boy into bed. Levi was a good christian boy before he met bristol.
September 2nd, 2008 at 6:15 am
When you start needing to spin this hard on this many things, you made a mistake.
The problem here is, as is frequently the case, one that people aren’t mentioning. Why would a loving mother expose her daughter to this? This is like John Edwards thinking he could get away cheating on his wife with a Hollywood producer–no one who isn’t insane thinks they can get away with it.
The only Christian thing about this woman’s family is having a down baby. Taking care of five kids from DC or uprooting them from Wasella? How you function as a mother of five children if you’re president? How you expose your daughter to bieng humiliated on the news? I don’t like this woman.
September 2nd, 2008 at 6:32 am
It’s obvious that the blame for this lies not with sex education but with Hollwood. Bristol probably went to the movies in Anchorage and saw the movie Juno. Damn commie pinko directors warping the minds of our children.
September 2nd, 2008 at 6:35 am
Yes SWI, why would Michelle Obama want to do this with their young children? I am shock, shock, shocked.
Jill, anyone who would fake out a CNN audience just to get on TV does not have the professional standing to question the writing of others.
Cain, who is preaching about fairness? Obama’s mother was what one would charitably call “white trash” in the olden days. I will be writing an article about her soon since it’s fair game.
September 2nd, 2008 at 6:51 am
Darr.
I think you’re full of it and just grandstanding in hopes that you’ll look like some parent that we all could learn something from.
The only way you could possibly do what you say you do is to have a GPS monitor hooked up to your daughter.
Wheres the hypocrisy in disagreeing with your statement which is only an opinion based on suspicion ?
———————————————–
TIA !
I have been scolded for being vulgar on this blog before, I can hang with the raunchiest bunch out there.
But I have to say that if I have ever heard a nasty disgusting person in my life who could use a little “sophistication” it would be you.
And I really wish you bigots would knock off the “redneck” crap.
This family most definitley does not fit that stereo type.
September 2nd, 2008 at 6:52 am
So do you say the same about underage drinking? If Palin can’t control her own children, how can she control a country? You claim there is no irrelevancy in it all?
Your response to the Palin’s “scandal” is a typical hypocrocy republican response.
September 2nd, 2008 at 6:54 am
Yup McCain.
I think I’ve pointed it out twice now that Obamas mom had to of been knocked up at 17 in order to have him at 18
The odds are in my favor.
September 2nd, 2008 at 6:57 am
McCain, nice non-responsive response.
The question stands.
September 2nd, 2008 at 6:58 am
Read the above link..
This is a case of if it were Democrats, this would be totally wrong, however we are talking about George Bush Republicans. It is not wrong if they do it. This is a total reversal of values for the Republicans. They preach conservative, anti pro choice, no sex ed in schools, blah, blah, blah. Now the shoe is on the other foot and what is the story? Now we should all consider this a normal part of America and embrace the fact that Sarah is dealing with this so well and Bristol and Levi are going to get married and live happily ever after. Because it is them, we are suppose to feel all warm and fuzzy over this family. BULL CRAP! Just because you say it doesn’t make it so……….
I am a lifelong Republican. Not anymore. This election with John and Sarah is a complete farce and a major disaster for this country. The scandals are already flying…When will they have time to focus on us in America if they are always having to defend themselves? How can Sarah run government and a household of 4 kids and a grandchild. Sarah is still 17. Is this the example America wants to portray to its citizens and the world?
September 2nd, 2008 at 8:17 am
What the lefties are doing in going after these poor kids is just evil and absolutely STUPID!! Talk about moronic!! They’re trying to ruin these kids life and saying “No one cares about the kids. it is the hypocrisy of the parents.” as Nice Try says above.
Well, Nice Try… nice try but no wash.
Hehe, poor stupid lefties.
Lefties like to whine a lot about being a victim to appease their conscious and yet when they have a chance to show some actual class and well meaning decency, they horribly malign themselves by pointing out, once again, that they only care for the ’self’, that is, themselves… whatever point they happen to be making at that moment, and nothing else. Why, lefties change their positions every time they turn around. Can we say… obvious? Hehe
Going after these kids will turn out to be one of the biggest mistakes the lefties made in the entire election. And they can’t take it back. Heheheheheh.
GO PALIN!!
September 2nd, 2008 at 8:55 am
Duh! The issue is that of a politician who promotes the ridiculous (ie morally dubious and totally ineffective) tenet of abstinence, and campaigns against sex education for kids. For a sophisticated nation, this approach is a joke – and contributes to the USA’s dreadful record on teen pregnancies, which is the highest in the developed world.
Oh, and if this had been Chelsea Clinton who was pregnant at 17, you would have kept quiet about it, would you?
September 2nd, 2008 at 8:58 am
Paul T
Hehehe…. Try to lay the blame around huh? Why don’t lefties just stand up for what they say without passing around the buck? Hehehhehehe
Its not about Chelsea or the way things might have gone who knows when… its about what lefties are doing to Palin and her kids right now.
So try to stay on subject, won’t you?
September 2nd, 2008 at 9:42 am
You dig your grave, man…now lay in it…Whiny republicans….wah, wah, wah….
September 2nd, 2008 at 9:45 am
the hack job article says that they are long time bf and gf. Well that means mama was so dumb and out of touch she could not tell that this relationship was sexual and couldn’t see this coming…when Mcshame strokes out will she see Iran coming or Pakistan or the other 10 or 12 mad countries out there.
September 2nd, 2008 at 9:56 am
DforO
Have you raised two teens like I have ?
One boy and one girl ?
Most Obamanites are barely teens themselves.
I guess Obama grandparents were just as dumb too right ?
Obamas mom gave birth to him when she was just 18.
Give or take 9 months I’ll bet she got knocked up at 17 also.
September 2nd, 2008 at 10:12 am
Levi Johnston is not the issue. Neither is Bristol Palin.
The real issue is whether or not Sarah Palin is a huge liar.
The real issue is whether or not John McCain is a huge liar.
The real issue is whether or not Joe Biden is a huge liar.
The real issue is whether or not Barack Obama is a huge liar.
Another thing to note: Most (if not all) politicians DO lie, whether we like it or not.
There is hypocrisy on both sides. People who claim to be voting for McCain/Palin have talked crap about Obama/Biden, and people who claim to be voting for Obama/Biden have talked crap about McCain/Palin.
Stop focusing on the rumours and start focusing on the truth … EVERYONE!
K, thanks!!!
By the way, I am not even American so please don’t try to slam me as a Democrat or Republican. Thanks.

If you’re not American why do you care? Hehehehhehe
Sorry, not buying that one.
Gina
What grave? Hehehhehe
Seriously XD Thats a horribly funny statement. There is no grave, Palin has done nothing wrong and she totally rocks!!!
September 2nd, 2008 at 10:16 am
I thought I’d post again. Even if the rumours are true, so what if Sarah Palin’s daughter is pregnant? My parents push the values that are similar to that of Palin (ie. no sex before marriage). That doesn’t make them bad people if WE screw up. If we screw up, how is that their fault? Whether anyone likes it or not, you canNOT force your family to do as you say 24/7. They are not robots. They are people. People who try to paint their family is a perfect family who can do no wrong are the real hypocrites.
September 2nd, 2008 at 10:20 am
Lala, I care because I hear about the American election on the news. I was curious about Palin because I hadn’t heard of her (or if I did, I didn’t pay much attention) before John McCain picked her as a running mate. I looked her up on Google to find out about her, and, unfortunately, I ran across some dirt that I wasn’t expecting. I’m sure that’s what a lot of people have done. I’m not surprised, though, since *every* politician has dirt pretty much. I’m not sure I can name one who doesn’t.

You’re right about Palins daughter. Not only should that not be an issue, its scandalous that they should try to ruin the lives of these young people who are trying their best to start out in life.
Scandalous, despicable, outrageous and downright evil.
There are way way way too many people out in the internet doing their best to destroy Palin’s character which, of course, is fair game most of the time in the political arena. HOWEVER, most of the time the bickering back and forth from all sides are supported by some kind of documentation IE facts!!
Not so here!! The WAY in which the lefties are coming after Palin and her family… lying, spreading false rumors at an alarming rate, bragging about their exploits on the liberal blogs and then pretending to be other people being ’shocked’ at finding out such horrible things about Palin!!
Well, its just disgusting and truly the worst of the worst of internet Trolling.
Also, I agree with you that ALL politicians can be scumbags.
But, as an American, I can tell you that is WHY we’re so excited about Palin. She has a track record of taking down pork projects and corruption on a whole. She’s a standup gal with a lot of heart and love. Her family is beautiful and precious, as many families are, and she deserves to be treated with respect.
Which is why many people are coming to her defense.
She deserves to be defended.
Looking at OB’s camp who are only trying to spread these lies and being as hateful as all get out… then looking at Palin’s camp and thinking what she could do in four years to save our country from these sick politicians is exactly why people are going to go out and vote this year. Thank God and God bless Palin for being who she is.
I can’t wait to vote. Palin 08!!
September 2nd, 2008 at 10:54 am
I CAN’T WAIT!! PALIN 08!!!
September 2nd, 2008 at 11:15 am
I don’t see how forcing a young man to marry your daughter makes you a stand up gal. Levi never did want children and he’s a virgin. That girl must have laid down with someone else.
September 2nd, 2008 at 11:18 am
Johnson-
Hahaha!! XD
You are pitiable. The lefties getting desperate, huh?
Listen to this, STOP smearing a young girl and her future VERY young husband.
And since I don’t expect you to have the class to do it, I’ll just wait with a smile as you continue to be a part of the downfall of OB’s campaign.
See you at the polls.
PALIN 08!!
September 2nd, 2008 at 11:34 am
I’m a red blooded republican, through and through. Just never have much liked McCain and now with Palin, I think I might stay home. Mitt Romney woulda been a far better choice then this piece of fluff Palin. I mean the Palin pick is a real snub to all of us who supported Romney and knew he would be the best for the job. It makes me sick how Palin talks up Hillary and Ferraro. What kinda a Republican does that. And I really hate to see her ruining this young man’s life just because her daughter got herself pregnant. I’m the real republican around here Lala. You have to think critically. McCain shoulda consulted with Bush about a good VP pick!
September 2nd, 2008 at 11:47 am
Johnson
I don’t care how ‘Republican’ you think you are.
You’re going after a 17 year old girl and calling her things you wouldn’t want your kid to be called.
And, by the way…. ROMNEY?? XD
I see, you’re just upset that McCain didn’t pick Romney…. well, OB didn’t pick Hillary either. But OB should have picked Hillary. She would have been awesome in the debates and it would have shown the world what the Democrats are actually capable of. Except they’re NOT capable of it. They’re bigoted, sexist lefties who made the WAY wrong decision with OB. The DNC was a complete farce and the opposite of the word ‘democratic’ in its true meaning.
… and McCain made the right choice. Palin will clean up Washington whereas Romney was same old same old. Sorry, but its just the truth. I wasn’t even going to go out and vote until McCain picked Palin. It made me feel like there really was hope. And thats how a lot of people feel. So GO PALIN!! And I sincerely hope she doesn’t get bogged down by these idiots going after her kids. Shame on anyone who did.
Like you.
September 2nd, 2008 at 11:56 am
Real nice rant on his Myspace page. F*#@ this and that. Nice. Good to see “family values” are alive and well in Alaska.
September 2nd, 2008 at 11:56 am
I didn’t call that girl anything. And that shows how much you know about Mitt too. He’s from a very good family and would have brought a lot to the ticket. Woulda made sure to protect us from pork projects and woulda seen to it that the taxes keep going down. Palin hasn’t paid her dues yet, and saying that doesn’t make me a sexist, it just means that I want my candidates to be older and have already succesfully raised their children, and to have supported our party longer than Palin has. Bush had the kinda VP you need, Cheney’s the kinda guy you know will protect your president, and make sure congress doesn’t get away with too much. That’s the kinda VP you pick. And Hillary Clinton is just awful. How can any republican say she’s anything but a socialist-loving bill-loving communist is beyond me.
September 2nd, 2008 at 12:03 pm
The “hick, white trash, shotgun, hunting, etc.” comments are all working to the GOP’s advantage, Obama people. Guess what? Country music outsells rock or hip-hop. NASCAR is the most popular live sporting event in America.
So keep it folks and you’ll make Palin a referendum on country values. And you’ll lose. Again.
September 2nd, 2008 at 1:01 pm
Are we sure this was REALLY John McCain’s choice VP? I think she was showed down his throat just like Bush/Cheney were showed down our throats for the last 8 years.
That brings me to another comparison.
Cheney = Palin = Big Oil
Anymore anyone?
I see another Bush/Cheney in McCain/Palin
Another 4 years of McPain for US….
September 2nd, 2008 at 1:25 pm
Jake, yes, she is just as electable as Cheney although she won’t have as big a role and she was McCain’s choice. You are 1/3rd right, not bad for a youngster.
IR, they don’t understand middle America. These fringe Democrats are kind of hilarious.
Johnson, you need another cause since you seem rather confused about politics.
September 2nd, 2008 at 1:36 pm
I am really shocked after reading this letter from the family?????? It’s laughable how in the end of the letter they scold OB for saying to leave the family out of it, and claims he really doesn’t care. Obama nor anyone directly related to him camp has said anything negative regarding this issue, why??? because they feel like I feel. It should remain off the table. Their are too many people who can relate to this situation, and she shouldn’t be ridiculed because of it. I am an Obama supporter and i have the respect and decency to understand that. Why can’t a Mccain/Palin support have the respect to accept what Obama said and not always try to criticize him even when he does the right thing. Thats what make me lose respect, not the fact that she has a pregnant daughter, it’s the high horse the republicans keep riding that makes me sick.
September 2nd, 2008 at 1:38 pm
Sarah Palin will make a good Vice President if the Republicans get into office. She will need help in caring for her family, just as so many of working mothers today. Is that so bad? I wish that most of you (not all of you need to) would put yourselves in the shoes of the Palin family. Are any of you so perfect that you can criticise anyone else? I wish that most of you would rethink the mean and spiteful things being said. None of us is perfect!
September 2nd, 2008 at 1:45 pm
Grannie. I agree with you on most of that, but let me ask you this. Please list 3 reason as to why Palin would be a good VP? Do you even know why you are saying that, or are you just saying it because you are a republican. It is time for us to step outside of our parties, just for the sake of our parties and really examine where we are going in this country. Quite frankly things have been really terrible over the last 8 years and we are in desperate need of a positive change. My Grandfather has been a republican for years but he himself stepped outside of that stand and really looked for the best candidates because he is tired of living in this horrible economy and watching his kids and Grandkids suffer. Its not time to stand by your party, its time to stand by your common sense, and what is best for the country.
September 2nd, 2008 at 2:07 pm
Rainey, did I say I was Republican? I vote for candidates of both parties, or more specifically, the person or persons I think will do the best job. I think that that Palin is a fresh face, she isn’t a “good ol boy”, and and I believe an honest person and able to make difficult decisions. Let me add this- If Obama gets elected, I will be behind him and hope that he does the very best for the country and I would hope the same for McCain.
September 2nd, 2008 at 2:17 pm
“I don’t see how forcing a young man to marry your daughter makes you a stand up gal. Levi never did want children and he’s a virgin. That girl must have laid down with someone else.”
jeez dude.
Do you really know that Levi was a forced virgin who doesnt want children that has a girlfriend who set him up ?
Yea, you might be a republican but insanity knows no political party
September 2nd, 2008 at 2:26 pm
I know it’s way early to be talking ‘12, but if McCain wins, can we be looking at Palin v. Clinton in ‘12? Catfight?
September 2nd, 2008 at 2:35 pm
please, no more Hillary
September 2nd, 2008 at 4:00 pm
Ref: Eric Dondero’s comment…
Open season!? Please don’t be so naive to think that Republicans have not been digging and looking from day 1 for dirt on Obama or Biden. The dirt just isn’t there and it has to be trumped up. Even with Obama himself stating that the family and children should be off limits, you and many others act as if it is at his direction that the “nation” pursues a curiousity with the Palin’s. Virtual unknowns. It’s simply the way of our news media/press and society to love gossip and dirt. As stated by others, the “right” is merely showing hypocrisy.
Let’s talk about McCain. Honored for his dedication and ability to survive a horrible experience serving the country, he returns to a wife who “never” deserted him. However, he abandoned her (first cheating on her) for wealth and pursuit of a political career. He’s constantly applauded. Today, the coutry still honors him, never abandonded him. He, however; DID abandon his wife. AFTER taking an oath BEFORE GOD. Thus dishonoring himself, his wife, and GOD. So the dirt appears to be the way of life for some but we must not dishonor him and talk about this because he’s a If veteran – - right!? If McCain can abandon his wife in hard times after taking an oath before GOD, how can we trust he won’t abandon US based on a mere oath before some humans?
September 2nd, 2008 at 4:21 pm
As a right-winged, African American female, mother of two, I am absolutely offended at the sheer juvenile article (?), the clearly uneducated idiot, Beth Shaw, wrote. The more I read and listen to my beloved Republicans speak, the more I can’t wait to vote for Obama/Biden come November. It’s embarrassing how ridiculous this has become. I’m waiting for someone to be mature about the pregnancy and the selection of Palin. Seriously, to state Obama made supportive statements about Palin’s family issue because he doesn’t want someone investigating his kids….how dumb can you be? What would that look like? ‘Sasha, age 7, was sent to the principals office for coloring outside the lines’.
ENOUGH!
September 2nd, 2008 at 4:54 pm
“I think that that Palin is a fresh face, she isn’t a “good ol boyâ€?, and and I believe an honest person and able to make difficult decisions.”
You aren’t too demanding to your VP candidates, are you?
Heck, almost anyone picked off the street would likely fit the same profile if you search in good enough neighborhoods. Shouldn’t we be a bit more demanding?
I agree with Johnson – it should’ve been Romney.
September 2nd, 2008 at 6:33 pm
As an atheist outsider, I’m wishing for a Xmas Eve delivery. Live on TV, in a manger.
September 2nd, 2008 at 8:07 pm
I don’t think you can hold Palin responsible for the stupidity of the two kids. At least she’s 17 and not 15. If he marries her all will be forgiven. If not, they got trouble. Parents can only raise and guide their kids so much nowdays. You cant expect perfect control. There are some issues of responsibility with the boy and the underage thing. Everyone is at least a little hypocritical. Ultimately peoples bodies are their own. Why some people want to control others reproductive rights is beyond me as long as they are adults. Nowdays though age doesn’t confer adult decision making ability.
September 2nd, 2008 at 8:19 pm
Actually Brian, age does confer adult decision making in Alaska. The age of consent there is 16. It was legal for her to hop in bed so her mom couldn’t stop her if she wanted.
George, that would be great fun.

Dear Micky Barocky’s Mom did not accept the nod to be VP and direct in line to Head the Greatest Nation Ever on Earth…Bush cracked the door to Pandora’s Box McPalin will bust it wide open…you all better learn to pray

Brian, I think to you the vast majority of the red states are twisted. Too bad for you, Red States make up the majority.
I’m a blue stater, myself. And I’m a little bit fearful of how blue staters seem to have no clue that they are a minority.
September 2nd, 2008 at 10:07 pm
my state is color blind they tell me do I don’t even bother trying to understand what a red state or blue stater eats or cuts up for clothes to wear. But good news. The US constitution is supposed to protect minorities and the minority interest even in majority rule. Though we are but a few shillings away from a police state versus a mob mentality if properly riled and enuff free time on ones hands. 16 is just too young to have kids, and in a somewhat modern country pretty ridiculous. I can understand that the Great Grandiose State of Alaska wants more bodies to populate and work its environs, but still 16 is just too young for a lot of reason. The ball player is less than a a gentlemen in my book and extremely reckless and irresponsible. I would say more but then McCain will complain that its okay to do what he did. He did do something, didn’t he?

Seriously, to state Obama made supportive statements about Palin’s family issue because he doesn’t want someone investigating his kids….how dumb can you be? What would that look like? ‘Sasha, age 7, was sent to the principals office for coloring outside the lines’.
That was funny.

I cannot believe that you would even state that this situation is “An American Story”. No it’s not nor should it be! Oh and Beth, your ignorant comment about Obama being a Marxist, first of all, that’s such an extreme far fetched comment, Not sure you even understand what Marxism means. America will NEVER be like China regardless of who our President is! And secondly I guess I would rather see people with Jobs then like today, where my job was eliminated for an off shore resource.

Definitely an American story, assuming we have progressed since Hawthorne. In some of the countries that love Obama because of his upbringing as a Muslim and Marxist, the daughter would be stoned to death.
In another era Bristol would wear a scarlet letter, but that’s not our warm, enlightened American culture today which shines for the world as a beacon of inclusiveness. It’s an American story indeed.
Besides she is legally old enough to be pregnant which makes it her business rather than your’s. The interest that Obama has in controlling the bedrooms of legally-aged citizens is an element of the Marxism that Beth mentioned. Get Obamabots out of our bedrooms and wallets.

I am a father of four grown, great children…just like these two….my big question is, if the parents love them so much and have had such good communication with them….HOW COME NEITHER KNOW WHAT PREVENTION IS? They are BOTH irresponcible! What do these “smart” kids think with?
September 3rd, 2008 at 4:06 pm
Michael, give it a rest.
I’ve raised two teens myself, a boy and a girl.
They too are wonderful smart kids who were not fully emotionally developed at that age and did some dumb things that involved more emotion than logic(like libs) in their lives.
the key element is ” H O W ” they dealt with the mistake.
At least we know this baby wont end up in a dumpster.
Thats smart enough for me !

Sandy – Not sure you even understand what Marxism means. America will NEVER be like China regardless of who our President is!
China is a communist country – not Marxist. Look it up before you slam me for not understanding political theories.
Stating a fact as to someone’s political philosophy is not calling names. You can call me a Capitalist or a Republican (not the Party – but the political philosophy if you understand the difference). On some issues I’m a Libertarian. So is that calling me names? Its a philosophy.
Its apparent to me that Obama ascribes to a Marxist philosophy. I don’t understand why you would call that ignorant and far fetched.

Michael – What do these “smartâ€? kids think with?
What do you THINK they are thinking with?
I can’t believe the father of grown children wouldn’t have a better understanding of what its like to raise children – especially teenagers.
If you think that your children never did anything that would make your heart skip beats out of pure unadulterated fear – then either your children are little robots or you aren’t communicating nearly as well as you think.

As I see it the big deal is Sarah Palin is against sex education in schools and low and behold her teenager is pregnant!
September 6th, 2008 at 9:50 am
They seem to welcome the baby as a joyful gift just like most parents. Are liberals really against babies?

I say leave the kids out of it. I don’t think it matters whether they have a love affair or not. Those two kids are kids. We all make mistakes. At the same time, we should not glorify teen pregnancy. These children don’t know how hard it is until it is too late. I think that is why sex education should be taught in schools.

Obama has nothing to do with this. He has said nothing about Palin’s daughter. This type of slander is what made me change from voting republican this year.
