Word on the street in Denver is that Senator Ted Kennedy has made his way to the Democratic National Convention, despite his brain cancer. Tribute will be paid to Kennedy and his years of service in government tonight at the Convention. He will be on site at the Pepsi Center, according to Bill Kristol of the Weekly Standard. It is not yet known if he will speak tonight.

Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick, on the other hand, will not be attending. Conditions of his bail restrict him from traveling outside the Detroit area. He is currently wearing an electronic tethering device that restricts his movements and travel. Kilpatrick is facing perjury charges based on a whistle-blowing case within his city administration. Earlier in August he was jailed for breaking his bail conditions and crossing the border into Windsor, Canada.
