Dr. Jerome Corsi, is the author of “The Obama Nation.” It is a thoroughly researched and well documented book that delves deep into Barack Obama’s history, what little there is, and highlights how the Democratic presumptive nominee’s current rhetoric is hardly in synch with his past. But then alot of us knew that didn’t we?
“The Obama Nation” by Dr. Jerome Corsi
Dr. Jerome Corsi, a member of the Swiftboat Veterans for Truth, co-authored “Unfit for Command,” the book that helped to bring down the candidacy of Senator John Kerry four years ago. He has decided to turn his attention to Barack Obama in a new book entitled The Obama Nation: Leftist Politics and the Cult of Personality.
You may remember (I know I do!) Barack Obama stepping into the national political lime-light when the then-Illinois State senator addressed the 2004 Democratic National Convention. He was quite the buzz of the convention — certainly more the Sen. John “Reporting-For-Duty” Kerry! Soon after Obama was elected to the U.S. Senate, author Jerome Corsi began researching Obama’s personal and political background. Sourced with more than 600 footnotes, THE OBAMA NATION is the result of that research.
UPDATED 8/14/08: Team Obama has just released a 40-page rebuttal to Jerome Corsi’s new book “Obama Nation: Leftist Politics and the Cult of Personality — which will be No. 1 on the New York Times’ best-seller list for non-fiction hardcovers.
Team Obama’s rebuttal is entitled “Unfit for Publication,” a play on words to Jerome Corsi’s “Unfit for Command” book that launched the Swift Boat attacks on John Kerry in 2004 effectively sinking his campaign. Pun intended.
The rebuttal is posted on Obama’s campaign web site.
And the rebuttal? WEAK.
Some of the topics covered in this book include:
Obama’s extensive connections with Islam and radical politics, from his father and step-father’s Islamic backgrounds, to his Communist and socialist mentors in Hawaii and Chicago, to his long-term and close associations with former Weather Underground heroes William Ayers and Bernadette Dohrn. Obama’s continuing connections with Kenya, the homeland of his father, through his support for the candidacy of Raila Odinga, the radical socialist presidential contender who came to power amid Islamist violence and church burnings. Obama’s involvement in the slum-landlord empire of the Chicago political fixer Tony Rezko, who helped to bankroll Obama’s initial campaigns and to purchase of Barack and Michelle’s dream-home property. The background and techniques of the Obama campaign’s “cult of personality,” including the derivation of the words “hope” and “change.” Obama’s far-left domestic policy, his controversial votes on abortion, his history of opposition to the Second Amendment, his determination to raise capital-gains taxes, his impractical plan to achieve universal health care, and his radical plan to tax Americans to fund a global-poverty-reduction program. Obama’s naïve, anti-war, anti-nuclear foreign-policy, predicated on the reduction of the military, the eradication of nuclear weapons and an overconfidence in the power of his personality, as if belief in change alone could somehow transform international politics, achieve nuclear-weapons disarmament and withdrawal from Iraq without adverse consequences, for us, for the Iraqis or for Israel.
And Dr. Corsi isn’t the only one wondering who Senator Obama really is. Obama’s life may be an interesting one to some - full of a number of impressive achievements. But to me and millions of others, it is one that raises many questions about this man who is not far from occupying the Oval Office. For some, his rhetoric is more important than his deeds, his beliefs, his inclinations, his history. For me, his rhetoric is annoying, empty and juvenile. His soaring speeches? Inconsistent with his policies, practices, history.
THE OBAMA NATION is promising to be a blockbuster. At this writing it is #2 on Amazon’s list of Hot New Releases and expected to be at the top of the NYT Bestsellers List this weekend.
I just finished the book. With every new revelation about Barack Obama — a man who was only in the Senate a mere 144 days before announcing his run for President of the United States — I am increasingly convinced that if elected, he would be our first communist president. Too strong? Too paranoid? Then call him a progressive or a leftist if that is a wee bit easier on your sensibilities. Then do your homework.

I am a brain researcher, and I can tell you that there are serious changes that occur in an elderly brain that negatively affect a person’s ability to make good decisions. The pre-frontal cortex rapidly deteriorates with old age, and the pre-frontal cortex is really important to our ability to resist out impulses. Teenagers don’t have developed neo-cortexes, and this is why they often make poor choices. Sometimes they aren’t able to stop their reflexive reactions. Would you give a teenager the RED BUTTON?

Kate - great article! I think the term ‘communist’ carries too much baggage for the ‘progressives’ to want to hear. Unfortunately for them, the term ‘progressive’ is straight out of the Russian communist movement. They chose the name - and it means the same.

Josh - its highly unlikely Obama will be the next president. He’s self-destructing right in front of our very eyes. His trip to Europe was a complete embarrassment and even the media’s love affair with him can’t cover up all the faux pas he commits on a daily basis.
He is a citizen of the world. Perhaps he’ll run for President of the World. That would be more to his taste, apparently.
Besides, we really haven’t seen the last of Hillary yet. I’m willing to bet that she hasn’t played her last card yet.

You are right about one thing, you can tell he thinks. In fact, every time he opens his pie-hole when he’s not on teleprompter count how many times he say uhhhh. That uhhhh is a pause for him to think “what the heck am I going to say now, I can’t let the people know what I really think.”
What this book points out is that Obama is entirely un-vetted. Typically politicians who aspire to be President have actually been around for a while and have done something of note. People know their background and their skeletons. However, when you choose your candidate based on his skin color and not his qualifications, you end up with Obama. Had you nominated Clinton, she would be wiping the floor with McCain. Obama is self-destructing. When September and October start to roll around and people actually start paying attention, Obama is toast, he will not be president.

I am beginning to think Hillary is going to try and comeback at the Dem convention. There are a number of reasons. Interesting the obama campaign is taking a quieter tone all the sudden after Germany. They really know how to work the media and do it shamelessly.

I hope that Corsi will delve further into Obama’s Kenya connection. Obama himself tells us that he was in Kenya in 1992. That was the year that Kenya held its first multi-party election. Jaramogi Oginga Odinga (father of Raila Odinga and reportedly Obama’s Luo uncle) and Raila Odinga (reportedly Obama’s cousin) ran for President of Kenya and for parliament respectively. A quote from Jaramogi Odinga: “Communism is like food to me.” I don’t have access to 1992 news archives, so I don’t know if there was press coverage, maybe this can be checked out… isn’t it logical to ask whether or not Obama campaigned for the Odingas when he was in Kenya in 1992, like he did in 2006 for Raila?
There is also another aspect that needs to be brought out. There are many members of the Luo tribe (Obama’s and Odinga’s) who came to the US during the past 15+ years. Originally they came to try to affect Kenya politics from here. At one time, Jaramogi Odinga was thrown out of Kenyan government due to his hardline agenda of Communism and radical Islam. In 1992 he ran on the platform of the ‘Africanization’ of Kenya… redistributing land from the hands of whites. Prior to that, he attempted a coup. The Luos have a history of radical opposition, and corrupt, violent politics. It is logical to think that many of the Luos from Kenya in the US are involved in Obama’s campaign. Additionally, Raila has been in and out of the US for years, even meeting with Condoleeza Rice, and this needs to be looked into.
And a third comment… it is estimated that in 2007 alone, 17,000 Middle Eastern terrorists illegally crossed our US borders. There is a virtual army of Islam within our country. Given Obama’s ties to terrorists, would this army take marching orders from him? It is common in Kenya for opposition groups like the Luos to build their own militias.
There is way more to Obama than his self-made past. Worse case, we are experiencing a take over by Islam. I started researching Obama’s Kenya connection after wondering, how in two years did Obama go from campaigning for a radical Muslim opposition leader in Kenya, against our ally the Kenyan government, to running for US President.
And finally, the question regarding Obama’s birth certificate needs to be addressed. Reportedly the document posted by his campaign is a computer-altered copy of his half-sister’s birth certificate. Obama was perhaps born in Kenya or elsewhere, or is a dual citizen… not a natural born citizen, and therefore not eligible to be President.
So, Mr. Corsi, thank you for your work… more please. I think we are seeing only the tip of an iceberg.
In any event, I hope that Corsi and others will look further into what Obama brings to the table. I think we have seen only the tip of an iceberg of trouble for the US.

Yea, I saw Corsi on FOX yesterday and he discussed most of what we’ve all known to be true for a while.
Thank God all this is finally being circulated to the mainstream.
It should interesting to see how this book is reviewed in the mostly hostile liberal print media.

I am not a fan of the man; honest!! However, how did you come to know the above? What are your sources? You just made that claim? If you know of this, is it not your duty, and actually, the lawful thing to do, to notify the authorities? If you have this information and you are not providing it to our government, what do you think that makes you?

I haven’t read the book, only read about what it reveals. I’m a little disappointed. None of the allegations are all that shocking or new.
Apparently, the National Enquirer is delving into Obama’s past. Maybe they’ll come up with something a little bit juicier.
I’ve been hearing since Nov 2007 that a big bombshell about Obama was going to drop at any second. I’m still waiting…
