Mary Winkler has gotten custody of her children back after being slap on the hand for murdering her husband. Read about it below and see photos, including mug shots, and video.

Mary Winkler admitted to murdering her husband, Tennessee Church of Christ minister Matthew Winkler. She shot him, then watched him bleed out for the twenty minutes it took him to die, then put her children in the van and drove to southern Alabama where she was caught. Then she went to trial and told about how he had abused her, making her wear sexy shoes, perform sex acts and physically and emotionally abused her. He expected her to be submissive and stay in her place, which according to her was either in church or playing dress-up sex games in his bed.

Winkler was sentenced to three years in prison for voluntary manslaughter. She served less than two weeks in jail. She served approximately 2 months in a mental health facility. The rest of her sentence was commuted to probation. Now, less than two years after the murder, she has gotten custody of her three daughters back. The three girls, ages 11, 9 and 3, have been living with her husband’s parents, Dan and Diane Winkler. They’ve tried to block visitation with Mary, but now have lost custody to her.

So the girls will be back with the mother who killed their father by the time school starts.

How will this affect the three girls? They will be taken from the home they have lived in for the last couple of years and returned to the custody of their mother who they have hardly seen over the last couple of years. Not to mention, she killed their father. Was Mary Winkler really a victim of abuse, or was that just a ploy to get away with murder? After all, this is a woman who fell for the Nigerian email scam and ended up in tens of thousands of dollars in debt from it. That alone indicates that she can’t be the brightest bulb in the pack.

Are the girls safe with her?

Was justice done?
