Its been confirmed that the deadly Chinese bus explosions this morning were deliberately set. This finding has fueled fears of Olympic terrorism. Read about it below and see photos and a video.

There were explosions on two different public buses in Kunming, Yunnan Province, China this morning. One person was killed in each explosion and a total of 14 people were injured.

The first blast happened just after 7 a.m. It killed Wang Dezhi, a 29-year-old woman from Chuxiong City who was on the way home with her husband to celebrate their child’s birthday. The second blast happened just an hour later on the same bus route. It killed 26-year-old Lijiang City native Chen Shifei.

Chinese officials have confirmed that the blasts were deliberately set. Police immediately sealed off the area and started a search for the culprits. As a result China is cracking down on security both internally and at their borders. Chinese authorities have issued new warnings of Olympic terrorism.

The Chinese government has issued frequent warnings about threats of terrorism during the Beijing Olympic Games. They have focused their concerned on a muslim group from the western province of Xinjiang called Uighurs. This group was accused of a number of bus bombings throughout the 1990 and have close ties with al-Qaeda. They are also known as the East Turkestan Islamic Movement. The government also is focused on radical Tibetans called Splittists.
