Meet Jill Snow, formerly Jill Ellen Walker, who is the wife of the former White House Press Secretary, Tony Snow. See her biography here and photo when we find it.

Her famous husband passed way from cancer on July 12 2008. Our condolences and prayers go with Jill and the family. For Tony Snow’s wife, she lost him at the age of 53. He was much admired by both sides of the political aisle for his fair approach to news reporting and gentle sense of humor. And he was a loving husband and father.

Jill Ellen Walker (Jill Snow) Biography

Jill Snow married Tony in 1987 so they were together for 21 years. They met when she lived in Detroit Michigan in the 1980s as Jill Ellen Walker. They have three children, one boy named Robbie Snow and two girls, Christie Snow and Kendall Snow. Their ages are 15, 12 and 11. The family resides in Virginia with a cat, two dogs and apparently three guinea pigs. The love their pets!

Very little is known of her biography because Tony liked to keep his family private. Please add what you know in the comments and link to photos. At the least we would like to know where to send cards and donations.

When asked about Jill Snow in a White House briefing, Tony politely declined to discuss her. “I’m under a fatwa never to have so much as a surprise party. Lord knows she’s been put through enough with my various careers.” Is it no wonder?

President Bush mentioned her twice in public, once when introducing his new employee. “He is the loving husband of a fine wife and the father of three beautiful children.” Then when he passed: “Laura and I are deeply saddened by the death of our dear friend, Tony Snow. Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife, Jill, and their children, Kendall, Robbie, and Kristi. The Snow family has lost a beloved husband and father.”

After his surgery in 2007, new White House Secretary Dana Perino said of the family: “I know that Jill Snow, his wife, was with him at the hospital today when I spoke to her. Obviously, this is a family that has been through a lot. And they — I have never seen such a close-knit family. They really just love each other so much. They’re very supportive. Being a Press Secretary of the United States — to the President of the United States is not an easy job, but Tony really cut out time for his family whenever he possibly could and they were very close. And so I’m sure that this is difficult for them. And I know that they appreciate all the prayers that people are offering.”

Our prayers are with Jill Snow and the children, Robbie, Christie and Kendall.
