Meet Lynn Forester de Rothschild, one of the democratic party’s most influential political hostesses, supporters and financial contributers. She has made a couple of political gaffs lately resulting in her demonization by the democrats. Read about her grievous wrongs, her biography and see photos and a video of her on CNN below.
Poor Lady Lynn Forester de Rothschild has been ditched by the democrats. They are mad. She has done the unthinkable to the party she has financed and supported for so many years. She has said she cares more about her country than her party. OH MY! Say it ain’t so! She doesn’t like Barack Obama and has said so. She called him an ‘elitist’. They are making vicious fun of one of the wealthiest women in the social registries of the world calling Obama ‘elitist’. They miss the point, of course.
She is no different than Joe Lieberman or Geraldine Ferraro. It doesn’t matter who you are, if you don’t walk the party line. If you dare to have an opinion that isn’t in lockstep with what they’ve been told to think, you will be thrown under the bus. You can be a Vice Presidential candidate one year and a traitor to the party the next. All because you dare to put your country before your party. All because you think independently of the masses.
Lady Lynn Forester de Rothschild is just the latest to be tossed aside for the new democratic party with the new base that Obama says he’s building. She is one of the Hillary Clinton supporters referred to as a “HillRaiser’, people who raised $100,000 or more for Clinton’s campaign. She is an ardent Clinton supporter who has set up a website in support of Hillary. She says that the democratic party is trying to ignore the 18 million people that voted for Hillary.
“This is a hard decision for me personally because, frankly, I don’t like him. I feel like he is an elitist. I feel like he has not given me reason to trust him.
She and a couple of dozen other’s are asking for a meeting with John McCain in order to clarify who they will support in the general election.
The moral of this story is that no matter how much money you have donated to the democratic party or how many years you have been a fervent supporter, you are only as useful to them as whatever you’ve done in the last five minutes. Do. Not. Have. An. Independent. Thought!
As noted above, Lynn Forester de Rothschild was, for all intents and purposes, thrown under the bus by the democratic party. This happened in spite of her years of dedication and support of the Party. Of course, her mistake was that she didn’t follow along with the Party intentions of declaring Barack obama as the party nominee regardless of the will of the people.
In July, she announced that she was meeting with John McCain to determine if she could support him for the Presidency. Tomorrow, Wednesday, September 17th, Ms. Rothschild will hold a news conference on Capitol Hill and announce her endorsement of the John McCain campaign. A spokesman has said that she plans to support his candidacy by campaigning for him and helping in whatever way she can through the election.
As is evidenced by the comments here and in any other website that mentions Rothschild’s comments about Obama’s ‘elistism’, she is being raked over the coals for those comments as well as her support of McCain. Apparently, a lot of people don’t have a good understanding of what elitism means in this context. Briefly, it has to do with the fundamental philosophy of elitists that there are people who are in a ‘ruling class’ and the rest are the ‘unwashed masses’. This ‘ruling class’ dictates to the masses how to live their lives under the belief that they can’t make good decisions on their own. For instance, legislating how much fat you can eat, what schools you can go to, how you should raise your kids, etc. In that sense, Obama and most ‘progressives’ ARE an elitist.

And McCain and Hillary are not ‘elitist’?
It’s just politics. My guess is they want Hillary as a vice president, so they’r using this to threaten Obama camp over Hillary’s voters.

And Lynn Rothschild is not an elitist?
Give me a break.
July 29th, 2008 at 2:02 am
Is that comment meant for me? Of course she is, too.

Beth Shaw and her editor need to brush up on their grammar.
September 17th, 2008 at 12:13 am
This never happens in the Republican party. People over there think independently, not in lock-step with the party.
September 17th, 2008 at 1:48 am
Does Carly Fiorina ring a bell to anyone?
Ironic timing, Betty Shaw.
September 17th, 2008 at 5:24 am
whatever!!! this article is ridiculous if the author thinks the republicans aren’t elitist! they wish to regulate their neighbors wombs and dictate jesus via school prayer to students. both parties suffer from the E-Gene so cut the crap. all very rich people who think they are better suited to rule and dictate how everyone else should live. i just fear the E-gene in the republican party more than the dems. rothschild isn’t hiding her true reason for hating obama very well by pulling the E-card either because the republicans are full of it. i think its more of a gender thing.

Switching from someone as liberal to someone as conservative as McCain is strange.
If someone like to read the Washington Post or Gabriel García Márquez, does this disqualifies him or her. So we should choose a mediocre populist instead.
Talking about elitist, she married one.. go see watch Robert Altman’s Gosford park

“They are making viscous fun of one of the wealthiest women in the social registries of the world calling Obama ‘elitist’.” [sic]
The word you were looking for was “vicious.” Turn on “spellcheck.” There really isn’t any excuse for journalists to have such glaring typographical errors in their work, especially when computers can correct mistakes while one is typing.
Why should Mrs. Rothschild be exempt from whatever treatment is handed out to the rest of us useless eaters? Money and social status don’t make the person. Her DNA is no better than yours or mine.
Let the republicans have her. I’m an independent, so I really don’t give a damn about the democrats either.
September 17th, 2008 at 7:04 am
Some of you really need to learn the difference between an elitest, and some who just happens to have money.
The elitest is one who regardless of income believes himself to be of some extraordinary caliber of humanity and thought so advanced that none of us simple minded folk could ever understand or comprehend the levels that their heads float in.
There are plenty of people who have money but do not assume to be smarter or morally better than anyone else.
Obama is elitest in the sense that since his visions are so insightful and complex there is no possible way we could understand so what you get is a man who says “Trust me, there will be change, I offer hope, you need not ask how or why”
This is where he gets the messiah label from.
Well, we had faith in Jesus and he asked us to have faith and put our trust in him.
For those who doubted him he made it clear on the third day that he was not any ordinary man.
Obama is an ordinary man but will have us believe that he has some extraordinary abilities to achieve this grandiose vision he is trying to sell us all.
Susan, Botelho.
In typical liberal snobbery you have attacked ones flawed typing and grammar.
This is just a conversation, not a grammar test, not a business proposition.
Whether or not Rothschild or Obama is elitest it seems to me that its not really the democratic party that has thrown her under the bus.
I believe Hillarys camp is actually more representative of the democratic party so it would be more fair to say that actually the Obamas breed of democrats have tossed her.
I would think its a pretty frightening scenario for dems when they realize that a McCain/Palin pick is actually closer to what they want in government as opposed to Obama/Biden
Since this woman obviously cares more for her country than her party I would choose to believe that her vote (assuming she’ll vote for McCain) will not be cast out of spitefulness, but instead because she seeks true leadership.
September 17th, 2008 at 7:08 am
Sorry, I spaced out, its early in the middle of the pacific.
I forgot to make it clear that I really thiink its the Obamanites that have tossed this woman, and not so much the party.
September 17th, 2008 at 7:08 am
You must have missed Mrs. Rothschild’s comments about McCain being an elitist whom she couldn’t trust. The Democrats didn’t throw her under the bus, she’s throwing the democrats under the bus. An election is about more then the person running, it’s about the issues. If Mrs. Rothschild actually cared about the issues then she would have no problem supporting Barack Obama as he and Hillary stood side by side on just about every issue. However, it’s evident she cares more about gender politics then supporting the candidate who will push the agenda she believes in.
I bet if McCain does win this election Mrs. Rothschild won’t be supporting him in 2012.
September 17th, 2008 at 7:49 am
Obama and Hillary ran a very similar campaign both opposing the war. She simply does not like Obama thats what it all comes down to.
September 17th, 2008 at 8:03 am
Gerardo.
Hillary voted for the war.
“If Mrs. Rothschild actually cared about the issues then she would have no problem supporting Barack Obama ”
I think one issue thats being overlooked is the disenfranchising of Hillary supporters.
I gather there is little Obama would like to do about that.
September 17th, 2008 at 8:16 am
As a woman, and as an “average” American, I want to make it very clear that Lynn Forester de Rothschild does NOT speak for me. I would have been very happy and proud to have Hilary Clinton as nominee but I am equally pleased with Barack Obama. I have no problems with someone supporting and voting for McCain but for the life of me, I can’t imagine how someone who really “believed” in Hilary, can now support sometime who believes things which are in opposition to what Hilary stands for. I also don’t agree that amongst our criteria for who we vote for who we “like”. We should vote for who can do what is best for our country.
September 17th, 2008 at 8:35 am
Some people confuse “intellectual” with “elitist”. A person with a profound desire and capacity to think, learn, read, write and discuss is an intellectual. Finding these properties in a black man seems frightening to some folks around here (uppity alert). I’d rather have a president who can think for himself but each to their own.
Someone proudly carrying the prefix “Lady” as well as two last name, one of which “Rothschild” (the founding family of banking as we know it and certainly far, far, far removed from any real life struggles, one of the richest and most influential dynasties worldwide) while jetsetting between London and New York in a private jet is “elitist”.
This woman is a retard. Feel free to parade around with this new republican postergirl. Matching company.
September 17th, 2008 at 8:50 am
Actually, I see this as an endorsement for Obama. The super rich establishment getting cold feet.
September 17th, 2008 at 8:50 am
I’m a little confused Ms. Rothchild. Let me see if I have this straight…. .
If you grow up in Hawaii, raised by your single mother and grandparents, pulled yourself up, helped others in the process instead of running off to a Wall Street “elite” career, you’re “elitist, exotic, different.”
However, grow up in Alaska eating mooseburgers, you’re a quintessential American story.
If your name is Barack you’re a radical, unpatriotic “Muslim” (who, by the way, is a Christian).
However, name your kids Willow , Trig and Track, you’re a “maverick”.
Graduate from Harvard law School and you are unstable.
However, attend 5 different small colleges before graduating, you’re well grounded.
If you spend 3 years as a brilliant community organizer, become the first black President of the Harvard Law Review, create a voter registration drive that registers 150,000 new voters, spend 12 years as a Constitutional Law Professor, spend 8 years as a State Senator representing a district with over 750,000 people, become chairman of the state Senate’s Health and Human Services committee, spend 4 years in the United States Senate representing a state of 13 million people while sponsoring 131 bills and serving on the Foreign Affairs, Environment and Public Works and Veteran’s Affairs Committees, you don’t have any real leadership experience.
However, if your total resume is: local weather girl, 4 years on the city council and 6 years as the mayor of a town with less than 7,000 people, 20 months as the governor of a state with only 650,000 people, then you’re qualified to become the country’s second highest ranking executive and next in line behind a man in his eighth decade of life.
If you have been married to the same woman for 19 years while raising 2 daughters, all within Protestant churches, you’re not a real Christian.
However, if you cheated on your first wife with a rich heiress, and then left your disfigured wife and married the heiress the next month, you’re a true Christian.
If you teach responsible, age appropriate sex education, including the proper use of birth control, you are eroding the fiber of society.
However, if, while governor, you staunchly advocate abstinence only (and teaching only abstinence) with no other option in sex education in your state’s school system while your unwed teen daughter ends up pregnant while under your direct supervision, you are very responsible.
If your wife is a Harvard graduate lawyer who gave up a position in a prestigious law firm to work for the betterment of her inner city community, then gave that up to raise a family, your family’s values don’t represent America’s.
However, if your husband is nicknamed “First Dude”, with at least one DWI conviction and no college education, who didn’t register to vote until age 25 and once was a member of a group that advocated the secession of Alaska from the USA , your family is extremely admirable.
Oh okay, I get it now
September 17th, 2008 at 9:04 am
Micky,
Preach on. You are right.
If you just listen to Obama or Biden and even Hillary for that matter speck, they talk down to people. Like you are so dumb you have to have us there to wipe your butts. Elect us and there will be not more need for butt wiping.
Thanks but not thanks. Most areas of my life is really none of the government’s business and I don’t need or want some smuck telling me how bad off I am because of the mean republicans.
Hey! Does anyone remember how much gas was in Nov 2006 when Nancy and Harry got control?
It was $2.00
If you dems thinks it is bad now, wait until Obama get in. Part of me hopes he wins just so we can see who has stolen the Dem’s party and raped it tried to act like it is the party of FDR and JFK. NOT.
If McCain is Bush 44, the Obama is Carter 39.5.
September 17th, 2008 at 9:11 am
“Finding these properties in a black man seems frightening to some folks around here (uppity alert). ”
Another example of how liberals inject race in to everything.
Jay, up until this point no one said anything about anyones color.

Rivera.
I went to Punahou school in Hawaii just like Obama.
I went for summers to study math for two hours a day.
After Obamas little stint at Punahou he has been anything but common.
Just because his mom took foodstamps doesnt change the fact that he was raised to believe that his crap doesnt stink.
His mother was very much an artistic elitest and a Bohemian of sorts who considered herself a breed apart.
Also, most students a Punahou are crtitsized by most on the island for also thinking their crap doesnt stink.
Everything else you claim has already been put to rest and not even worth updating you on.
I grow weary of libs who think they can keep repeating the same accusations over and over hoping it will become true one day.
Every issue you brouggt up is either irrelevant or been discussed to clarity.
One example would be the husbands DUI conviction.
You fail to mention that was 22 years ago.
Wanna talk about the Kennedys ?
September 17th, 2008 at 9:23 am
Rivera,
You and the Dems are so angry about everything. Have you asked your doctor about Zoloft? It really works wonders.
Just so you understand. Christianity is base on having a personal relationship with God. And God forgiving us for our sins. Jesus is the only way to forgiveness and eternal life. We all have sins in our lives and if God is big enough to forgive and forget, then who are we to keep reminding others of there sins from 2 minutes ago or 22 years.
I seriously hope and pray for you man. Angry is a heavy burden to carry.
September 17th, 2008 at 9:40 am
Whooo. Hit some nerves huh…
Just trying to get it straight folks… Don’t kill the messenger…
They (McCain/Palin) are your choice. Keep thinking of absurd explanations for them. I am sure you will have your work cut out for you.
And please don’t talk Christianity to me. Check the news and do some research on how many full out lies McCain/Palin have told just this week alone. It’s called “Bearing False Witness” and yes according to the Bible you quoted, it is a sin…. Now think of an excuse/explanation for that. I know you will.
Good luck folks on your constant excuses/explanation.
No anger here.
September 17th, 2008 at 10:04 am
Rivera,
Hate to tell you, but you are angry.
If you don’t know Christianity, don’t pretend to know what truth is. A great example of this is found in Pilate’s response to Jesus’ statement that He came to bear witness to the truth when He was on trial in John 18:37-38. Pilate responded, “What is truth?” I don’t believe he was asking sincerely because he really wanted to know, but sarcastically like he thought there was no such thing as truth. Pilate, like all people who claim truth is relative, tried to excuse himself from any moral responsibility to God or humanity by denying the existence of truth.
I am not in the excuses business. Remember it was only sex with Bill and Monica. Remember that most politians lie because the figure most of us don’t really the truth.
September 17th, 2008 at 10:04 am
Does THIS convince anyone with a donkey on their lapel that McCain is NOT a conservative? This woman would NOT support a ticket with Palin at the top–or any true conservative.
John McCain is not a right-wing, Bush-clone; as desperate as some are to paint it so. He’s not. He’s a true moderate. The Dem’s guy is the most extreme ideologue in the House of Reps, and he’s hijacked the party from the insiders.
This happened once before, you recall; Ted Kennedy was supposed to get his turn in ‘76, until a more charismatic guy stole the nomination. For his reward, Jimmy Carter spent four years as a lame duck without even the support of his own party in Congress. They ‘threw him under the bus’ (and is anyone else getting sick of this phrase? Can we go back to feeding each other to wolves?).

I am not in the excuses business. Remember it was only sex with Bill and Monica. Remember that most politian’s lie because they figure most of us really don’t know or how to find the truth.
