Meet Michelle Obama, wife of Presidential candidate Barack Obama. Read her biography and see photos and a video of her below.

Michelle Obama has been viewed as an asset and a liability to her husband’s candidacy for the Presidency of the United States. She is not a wall flower. She has made statements that have been interpreted as being anti-American (‘for the first time in my adult life I’m proud of my country’) and her views on race relations have been a point of much debate. She has stated that she doesn’t worry about her husband’s security because being a black man in America is inherently dangerous. Her senior thesis at Princeton has been evaluated and many view it as having racist undertones.

“Earlier in my college career, there was no doubt in my mind that as a member of the Black community I was somehow obligated to this community and would use all of my present and future resources to benefit this community first and foremost. … with the increasing integration of Blacks into the mainstream society, many “integrated Blacks? have lost touch with the Black culture in their attempts to become adjusted and comfortable in their new culture – the White culture.”

There are rumors of a videotape of her speaking at the Obama’s controversial church and making racist statements. When she posed for the photo above, she was quoted as saying, ‘I’m Camelot with a tan’. As the controversies around her have heightened, she has taken a less public role in the Obama campaign.

Michelle Obama is beautiful, intelligent, elegant and a staunch supporter of her husband. Aside from her obvious assets, she is generally regarded as strong willed, outspoken and independent.
