Roland Martin on CNN is reporting that Obama has followed the path of Oprah and has resigned from the controversial church of Rev. Jeremiah Wright. I guess this church has finally generated to much controversy for Sen. Obama. Good thing he doesn’t like to throw people under the bus.

I wonder if this plays out on the committee’s decision today. Does this have any impact on the generals? I guess the attempt is to say “hey, I don’t even go to that church any more.” Of course, the fact that he was a member for 20 years pretty much negates that argument. I’m sure the GOP will go easy on him now, after all this is just a distraction.

Bryan – political expediency…. His grnadmother and his pastor are already under the bus – I would not want to work for him….

He didn’t bother to resign until he really didn’t have a way out of it. The Rev. Pfledger video comes out and its pretty much impossible for him to say that the ONLY TIME Wright said those nasty things were when he was being taped.
The American ppl have notoriously short memories – he’s probably hoping his radical rac*st church will all be ancient memories by November.

BTW, who resigns from their church? Don’t most people just stop going, who bothers to write a letter?

Bryan, that’s a very good point. Normal people just stop going. He’s not a normal person however. He has to somehow show in a stronger way that he’s not a part of this place anymore.
I’m NOT convinced of his distancing himself from this place. The audience cheered Pfleger and Wright on. This kind of talk of is typical for that place and Obama only is leaving because it’s now politically inconvenient to be a part of the place. When it was convenient (when he was a local Chicago guy), he cheered Wright and Pfleger on too.

Obama seems to me like a person who really doesn’t know who he is. He aligned himself with a radical element of the black community as an adult because he was raised as a white child. He hasn’t figured out where he belongs or who he is.
I don’t think we need a President who isn’t at all clear about his own personal convictions or even about who he is as a person.

I had to resign from the Mickey Mouse club.
The terms were that I change the spelling of my name and put a 2 behind it so that there would be no mistake that I no longer was a member.

Let’s remember: Obama’s only friends are radical liberals. Ah yes, the truth.

BTW, Larry Johnson is claiming that Monday we will see some real damning evidence come out about Obama. If you don’t remember who Johnson is, he is the ex CIA operative who broke the news regarding the Michelle Obama Whitey video. Even if you don’t believe him, you should check out some of the comments on his blog, http://noquarterusa.net/blog/. The people there are rabid Hillary fans, but almost all of them are going to vote for McCain over Obama.

I’m not trying to start anything here.
And i’m certainly not am Obama fan.
But whats up with the T- shirt add that has a pic of Obama next to a banana ?
Not cool if you ask me.

I agree . . . I don’t like Obama at all but I don’t like the message that shirt sends out.

micky and mark – we don’t like that particular image either. We are dealing with it with the advertiser.

It was interesting to me that Obama’s reasoning for resigning from his church had to do with protecting his church from the scrutiny rather than that he is appalled at the message they are putting out.

That ad was rejected. With that network, ads are automatically approved for display unless you take action within a few hours.

Yea , I figured it was something automatic and by no means a conscious decision on you guys part.
But my jaw did drop.

btw, have you all seen this article?
http://www.vanityfair.com/politics/features/2008/07/clinton200807
it is a STUNNING attack on bill clinton
June 1st, 2008 at 12:21 pm
the funny part was that when i read this quote from the article
“Clinton has been seeing a lot of women on the road,”
i thought they meant HILLARY
i forgot that bill likes women too, oopsie
it is sloppy editing, they should really say,
“BILL Clinton …
has been seeing a lot of women on the road,”
