Jenna Bush is marrying Henry Hager in a low-key, small wedding on the Bush Ranch in Crawford, Texas tomorrow. Read more about it and see photos and a video below.
Jenna Bush, Presidential daughter and Laura Bush Mini-Me, is getting married tomorrow. She has opted to marry on her family’s Crawford Texas Ranch in a low-key affair rather than at the White House. Since her father is President, she could join a handful of other presidential daughters who have married in the White House. She speaks about her reasons for choosing not to do so in the video below.
There are only going to be 200 guests and the leftist blogs are already having a ball pointing out a Jewish boyfriend of one of her cousins who she did not invite. They make a point of pointing out that the snubbed one is Jewish …. but they aren’t the one’s obsessed with ethnicity – no they aren’t! These, of course, are the same people that support Barack Obama for President. They don’t even seem to see the irony of that. I don’t think it has anything to do with religion. I think its because he’s name is David Lauren and her name is Lauren Bush. If they marry, her name will be Lauren Lauren. There’s no way to paint that in a good light! But I digress …..
This is going to be a very private, family and close friends affair. The press has not been invited and they hope to keep it as about the wedding as possible. Of course, that only entices everyone to want to get as many pictures and to intrude as much as possible. Be that as it may, I’m sure the Secret Service will keep the likes of Code Pink, lunatics and the press as far away as possible. Hopefully, the couple will be able to marry in some semblance of peace.
Its not just the Bushes that are preparing for this wedding. Crawford, Texas is getting ready as well. Local artisans have been busy little bees getting some tiny Texas-style (that seems like an oxymoron) keep sakes for the wedding that will be available at the Red Bull Gift Shop in town. A photos of some of the souvenirs is below.
The wedding will be outdoors on the grounds of the 1600 acre ranch in front of a limestone cross that is a landmark on the property. Jenna is wearing a gown made for her Oscar de la Renta and earrings by Austin jewelers Anthony Nak. There will be 14 attendants, with Jenna’s twin sister, Barbara, being the maid of honor. They will be wearing lovely cocktail dresses in various colors and various designs. None of them will be the same. They have designed by Dallas designer, Lela Rose.
We’ll have more updates as more information becomes available and we’ll add photos of the wedding as soon as we get them! Meanwhile, we have an interview of Jenna Bush discussing the wedding below and photos of Jenna’s engagement ring, wedding souvenirs and of her and Henry Hager together.

the greatest gift he could have given her is to enable her to remove the name ‘bush’ from her monogram.
May 10th, 2008 at 12:58 pm
Bob,
C’mon. Your better than that.
May 10th, 2008 at 1:15 pm
MDefl, why isn’t she in uniform in Iraq? The Tsar’s daughters worked in a military hospital in WW1. Stalin and Mussolini lost sons in WW2. Relatives of Churchill and Roosevelt were in uniform. In contrast, the children of Bush and Cheney party it up while the conservative movement fawns over chickenhawks like Bush, Cheney, Giuliani and Romney, who were draft dodgers when their conuntry wanted them but who now insist that other guys’ kids *must* fight.
There can be no dispute that America today is led by a second rate political class.

Blog hole – PUULLEEZZZEEE
Why isn’t Chelsea Clinton or John Kerry’s girls or John Edward’s girls. Shall I go on? At least the Bush twins have spent time doing charitable work rather than getting a 6-figure income straight out of college with a Hedge Fund from one of their parent’s friends.
That’s really selective outrage.
May 10th, 2008 at 1:55 pm
Hole reader.
Sure, there can be a dispute !
Now, if you can show me what a first rate political class would look like then there would be no dispute.
I’ll tell you something right now bub. In the last election 75% of the military voted republican.
Now lets get real.
Do you remember what happened with Prince Harry ?
Sending a high profile person such as Jenna Bush to Iraq is just about the stupidest thing I’ve heard of. It only makes sense coming from someone who is blinded so badly by BDS that they will say anything, no matter how dumb it sounds.
Due to the risk of being a high profile target it would be incredibly unfair to her fellow soldiers and whatever unit she would be in.
Second of all, she is an adult. And her father really has no influence or say so in her choices. She is allowed to map out her own career and future.
We do have that right in America , ya know.
If I’m correct she is a teacher and has done an internship in Panama.
And if I may, I will remind you to look back on all the politicians on both sides of the isle whos kids have not gone to war.
Also, the times you speak of we had a draft. When you were called, you went.
You should be proud of the men and women in uniform seeing as how the are a volunteer force.
Many of us do our part to support our country and troops even though we are not on the front lines.
Instead sitting around and casting judgement on innocent women because we hate their father
May 10th, 2008 at 3:44 pm
Micky2, thank you for bringing up Prince Harry, a fellow who is IN UNIFORM largely because of a sense that someone in his position has a personal obligation to share the sacrifices asked of others. In contrast, the United States has a second rate political class where remarkably few of its chicken-hawk leaders have any personal stake in the armed forces.
Also, thank you for bringing up the 1960s draft: you say “when you were called, you went”. That may have been true of Jeremiah Wright and many other average Americans, but it was decisively NOT true of the people who largely make up our political class, such as Bush, Cheney, Romney & Giuliani. Those draft dodgers stayed out of that fight even as they insist that others must fight now. (until “victory”!)
You also said “her father really has no influence or say so in her choices”. Nonsense. John McCain and Jim Webb were both veterans, and both have had kids in uniform in Iraq. Can you really say that the family traditions of McCain and Webb had no influence over their children? In contrast, George Bush, as a draft dodger, has no moral authority to encourage his children to join the military and fight in Iraq. I doubt that he ever had that talk with them. What do you think?
Beth, the folks that you named cannot with justice be described as “chicken-hawks”, in sad contrast to Bush, Cheney, Giuliani, and Romney.
May 10th, 2008 at 4:17 pm
Hey lets not forget that Romney’s kids did their part by working on their dad’s campaign!
May 10th, 2008 at 4:38 pm
Blog-hole – I realize you are just trying to be obnoxious, but still I have to say that you mention ‘Bush, Cheney, et el’ as though they are the only ones in power in Washington. For one, Bush DID do his military time and released his military records at which point the left had to shut up about him going AWOL. Clitton went to England.
Having a son in the service is very different than having a daughter in the service and you know it. That is not intended to be a sexist remark – its just a reality of the world we live in. Our sons are drawn to that sort of service and our daughters usually aren’t.
My son is in the Army and has recently completed 15 months in Iraq. It never crossed my daughter’s mind to do that. Neither is right or wrong, they are just different. Viva la difference!
Or are you one of those guys that think women are only valuable if they act like men?
May 10th, 2008 at 4:40 pm
Abouie, I won’t argue with you about Romney’s kids. I liked a lot of his rhetoric – but I just couldn’t swallow the fact that he has 5 sons who never darkened the door of a recruiting office. But then, my main issue is the war on terror and that just didn’t cut it for me.
May 10th, 2008 at 6:00 pm
Bush’s records show that he never showed up for duty in Alabama. It’s pretty obvious that he used family connections to avoid Vietnam.
Cheney of course used a bunch of student deferments, then got his wife pregnant to avoid service.
But it was a different time then, most who could avoid service did. Hmmm… maybe it isn’t all that different now?
May 10th, 2008 at 6:01 pm
Micky, a recent study showed that the largest amount of active duty military contributions were made to Ron Paul and Barack Obama.
May 10th, 2008 at 6:20 pm
You know why they didn’t have this at the White House?
She’ll be mean drunk. There’ll be cigarette burns on the gown. She won’t be wearing panties.
May 10th, 2008 at 6:45 pm
You know what they say reddog, Daddy’s little girl!
The funny thing about having it at Crawford is that for a typical celebrity wedding there would be 10 helicopters trying to get a view, but my guess is that the airspace will be closed! So maybe the trick to celebrity weddings is to invite the President!
May 10th, 2008 at 6:52 pm
And to Beth, MDefl, and Micky…
Now you see why I blog here and not at some whacko site (left or right). BlogHole is one of first to post real crap since I started reading the posts here. He may or may not have a point, but it doesn’t even come close to fitting the subject.
May 10th, 2008 at 9:14 pm
YoungDem – I hope I’m not attracting that type
May 10th, 2008 at 9:14 pm
Word is the wedding went great!
May 10th, 2008 at 10:37 pm
YoungDem says “BlogHole is one of first to post real crap since I started reading the posts here.” Maybe you picked the wrong blogsite to hang out at: I post here often.
Micky2, your long, meandering rant is disgustng and sickening in the last degree. The topic here is not socialism vs. freedom, and it is not a forum for you to whine about all that bothers you. The topic is Jenna Bush’s wedding and why she is not in the armed forces fighting in Iraq.
Beth, if you are bothered by Romney and his five sons, wait til you find out about their loincloths that they wear secretly at all times. All six of them. (I try not to be obnoxious, but I just can’t seem to help myself.)
Also, I asked anyone if they have an opinion about whether George Bush ever had a chat with his daughters about maybe going into the armed services and fighting in Iraq, like he asks of other young men and women.
Anyone care to speculate “yes” or “no”?
May 10th, 2008 at 11:37 pm
Observe the liberal brownshirts’ call for militant control over our children. Shall we call Field Marshall Bloghole’s new idea the Obama Youth?
Blog-hole, if you want to fight for your country, just volunteer like everyone else. If you ever have children you will realize they make up their own minds.
May 10th, 2008 at 11:55 pm
Brown shirt – I mean blog hole – your insult to Micky was obviously intended for yourself. YOU are the one that inserted the question about Jenna’s military service. The topic here is Jenna’s wedding.
And, I really don’t know why you assume you know what the Romney son’s wear for underwear.
But, please, by all means, volunteer for the military. It would give you a whole new perspective on life. Not to mention, teach you how to be a man.
May 11th, 2008 at 12:00 am
Your desire to see Jenna in the service is exactly what I addresed and the circumstances I believe that caused you to say it are also what I addresed.
Tell me. What does her getting married have to do with you hating her father and wanting to put her in harms way ?
Are you going to dictate the forum also as you would Jennas future ?
Dont talk to me about disgusting !
You are just a spitefull little man saying ridiculous things.
Hole reader.
The radicals and fanatics that got us into it are either due for execution , on trial, or dead as in the case with Saddam.
We know what the solution is, and it sure as hell is not to just pack up and bail. Another holocaust will ensue no doubt due the radicals and fanatics, those radicals would more than likely be the Iranians and the Shia.
As far as you implying that all has been accomplished , please don’t take me out of context.
We over threw the government which was the initial goal. But any one with any common sense of decency would realize that the reconstruction and return of Iraqs infrastructure is what also needs to be done.
This was mentioned by Bush as he stood in front of the “Mission accomplished ” banner that you guys love to harp on as if he was saying the war was over.
Bush said; ” their remains a lot of work to be done”
So don’t talk to me about any kind of impotence when you are actually dumb enough to think that I’m so stupid as to let a one dimensional thinker as yourself lead me astray in any kind of debate.
What you fail to realize, only because you are short sighted enough to think you’ve heard it all is that we will be in Iraq for quite a while. I was saying this long before McCain made his 100 year remark.
As of last year we started building the largest American embassy ever, smack in the middle of Iraq Ya know why ? I doubt it.
Because you and your ilk only see things from a one dimensional view. And that was a view that we are there for hearts and minds.
Bullsh** !
We are there to keep an eye on the most unstable region in the world. And it has grown increasingly unstable in the last couple of decades.
We have contracts for the oil coming out of that region for the next couple decades. And the dysfunctional radicals in that part of the world would more than anything love to disrupt that flow of oil in order to bankrupt our country. This would cause a disaster the likes of which this country has never seen
So while you bleeding heart kumbaya moonbats think you’ve got it all figured out maybe you could take in all of what I’ve just said and see if you can actually come up with a better solution.
Because as you said above;
“The solution is to get us out of it.”
Tell me , do you have one other than to bitch and moan and groan ?
Hardly.
Until then it would make you look a lot more intelligent if you just shut up and let our guys do their job.
Your last sentence that somehow is supposed to be an act of literary genius combined with humor is about as funny as a submarine with a screen door.
Try this.
Just because your head comes to a point doesn’t mean you’re sharp
May 11th, 2008 at 7:58 am
Young Dem.
The Hole reader is a piece of work. Isnt he ?
May 11th, 2008 at 8:10 am
The funny thing about bhole is that he represents your average Daily Kos poster. Go hang out over there and read some of their crap, it reads eerily like the bhole reader. Coincidence?
May 11th, 2008 at 9:23 am
Been there.
Cant bring myself to register.
But no, I hardly think its coincidence any more than idiots are bred of incest.
May 11th, 2008 at 10:22 am
Ok then why isn’t Jenna’s new hubby in the military?
