A guy named Gary is known as German Talis to his Truther friends. It is being reported that he bravely and without regard for his own safety yelled obscenities at Laura and Jenna Bush and then beat up a teenager in a wheelchair. If it turns out that he did those things then what a brave soul this guy must be!

Twenty-two year old German Talis was arrested after an altercation following a talk First Lady Laura Bush and Jenna Bush gave about a children’s book, Read All About It. Talis intercepted the Bushes as they left the Y on 92nd Street in New York City. As per the video below and reports in the press he began heckling them, yelling questions about Iraq and Iran and screaming obscenities at the two women.

Maureen Lovetro and her parents were in the audience to hear the First Lady and Jenna Bush speak. Maureen is an eighteen-year-old who has been wheelchair bound due to cerebral palsy. She has been a fan of Laura Bush for years. The Lovetro family had the misfortune of crossing paths with the ever-so-brave German Talis. Maureen’s father, John Lovetro recounted the incident.

“He began yelling about Iraq and Iran at Jenna Bush. She was waving at the crowd. I told the guy, ‘What are you doing? Shut up. This is about a child and books,’ ” said John Lovetro. “He was unperturbed. I said, ‘Get out of here! You’re being a moron!’ ”

The next thing he knew, Talis was allegedly punching Maureen, a fan of the first lady since meeting her in 2004.

Maureen’s mother, Wendy Lovetro, said that she heard her daughter yelling that he was hitting her. She reports that her husband pushed Maureen’s wheelchair out of the way, but German Talis continued to reach over the father and hit Maureen.

Thankfully, according to reports in the New York Post, Maureen’s father had at the ever-so-brave Talis and pounded the living sh*t out of him. Talis was then arrested and charged with assault and resisting arrest.

Of course, this is being reported completely differently on the 9-11 Truther site. They are saying that Talis was attacked by John Lovetro for no apparent reason and then unfairly arrested. In whatever dealings I’ve had with groups of Truthers, it appears to me that they love to see themselves as victims and build fantasies about other people sitting around coming up with conspiracies against them. Their version of events as related on their website doesn’t mention anything that Talis did. Instead they call for action at the ‘unlawful and outrageous’ treatment of Talis at the hand of the police. Boo - freakin’ - hoo.

So let’s recap this story as I see it. There’s a guy named Gary or German Talis who is a brave freedom fighter and who has to use aliases because he’s so important that all sorts of people in authority spend time watching his every move. He is a proud member of the 9/11 Truth Movement. He goes to a reading of a CHILDREN’s BOOK apparently for no other reason than to get the opportunity to yell obscenities at two women who are there to talk about a children’s book. So far we get the image of a guy who finds it easiest to pick on women.

Next, he doesn’t like that a guy in the audience tells him to shut up. So instead of attacking the MAN, he goes after the man’s daughter who has cerebral palsy and is in a wheelchair. Again, a guy who finds it easiest to pick on women and even easier to pick on women in wheelchairs. He’s one paragon of bravery!!

While he’s beating on the teenager in the wheelchair the teenager’s father steps in and stops him. Most men would do that, but apparently this Truther thought it was terribly unfair. Remember, if the reports in the press are correct, it would appear that he prefers to hit women and especially women in wheelchairs. A man hitting him is not something he liked at all, it would appear.

Immediately after he was arrested, his Truther friends start rallying around him declaring he should get pro bono legal assistance because of the unfair and outrageous treatment he’s been subjected to. They also declared that he should sue the NYPD for treating him so unfairly. So this is the kind of paragon of manliness that the 9/11 Truther movement offers up. All of that is on the front page of their website.

He yelled obscenities at First Lady Laura Bush and Jenna Bush and then beat on a teenager in a wheelchair with cerebral palsy. Just so you remember what the New York newspapers are reporting that he did.

German Talis might even give Truthers a bad name and THAT would take some doing!

UPDATE:The Truthers sent a video of their version of events. Its included below. The video is mostly this German Talis guy being enormously irritating (in my opinion). They claim the camera was broken right at the point that would have proven his argument that he was attacked rather than that he attacked Maureen Lovetro. I hate when that happens!! How unfortunate for him.

The video is the We Are Change devotees argument. They just argue and argue and argue and argue and argue and argue …….

They have rights to free speech, but apparently according to them, no one else does.
