MSNBC hit an all new low as Rachel Maddow became the Queen of nutty conspiracy theories last night. She spent some 22 minutes hyping up how she had a two-page copy of President Donald Trump′s 2005 tax returns. Maddow attempted to ′connect the dots′ on how this is some sort of proof of wrong doing on the part of Trump. She even tossed in a kooky theory that Trump is beholding to a Russian billionaire oligarch who purchased a Florida estate from Trump back in 2005. Apparently, the Russians must have known 12 years ago that Donald Trump would win the 2016 presidential elections! Or so Maddow thinks! However, the entire exercised backfired, as the tax returns proved two things. That Donald Trump is indeed a successful businessman and that he actually does pay income taxes. Quite a bit, actually!
The tax returns show Donald Trump claiming an adjusted income of some $153 Million dollars, paying a tax rate of about 24.5%, around $36.5 Million. A higher rate than Comcast, which owns MSNBC, of 24%, Barack Obama 18.5%, Warren Buffet 17% and even Bernie Sanders at 13.5%. Even Warren Buffet’s underpaid secretary paid a lower rate in taxes than President Trump! As far as the real estate deal goes, Trump essentially doubled his investment when he sold to the Russian for about $100 Million dollars. Maddow and her staff seems to have forgotten that in 2005, we were still in the midst of a crazy housing bubble with values rising at incredible rates. I guess none of them ever watched those shows on Bravo TV, like ″Flipping Out″ or ″Million Dollar Listings″, where Russian and Chinese billionaires are buying up US properties at ridiculous prices!
After all, Donald Trump made his fortune developing property. Buying cheap, upgrading to add luxury and value, then selling or renting. Perhaps the funniest moment last night was when Maddow had on some tax expert who seemed upset that Trump paid the same tax rate as he and his wife do earning some $400,000 a year. The expert actually tried to make that income level appear to be ′Middle Class′. I suppose he hadn′t heard that under Barack Obama, the average income dropped to about $47,000 a year per worker. I′m certain that there are many Middle Class laborers, even white-collar workers, in Detroit or Pittsburgh, who wish they were knocking down $200,000 a year.
This is what we call ′Elitism′! This is also what we call plain insanity, too! Rachel Maddow showed herself to be a hysterical, nut-job last night. Not that this is any different from what she usually does on a daily basis. Her hatred for President Donald Trump is quite obvious. As Henry Wadsworth Longfellow wrote in ″The Masque of Pandora″, were he has Prometheus say, ″Whom the gods would destroy, they first make mad.″ Of course, you classical scholars out there know that the curse is much more ancient, at the very least going back to the play ″Antigone″ by Sophocles.
Yes, Rachel Maddow is mad, and bent on destruction. Her whole show on MSNBC was designed to be a hit-piece on President Donald Trump by revealing his 2005 tax returns. In addition to her conspiracy theory on how the Russians knew in 2005 that Trump would one day be President of the United States of America, she, and her fellow Liberals in The Media, are pitching the notion that the two-page documents were actually released by the Trump organization, itself. Not leaked illegally by some Obama hold-over at the IRS or Treasury Department. But, like Icarus, Rachel Maddow has flown too close to the Sun. Her entire effort has backfired, as it served instead to prove that Trump did indeed pay taxes, quite a bit, in fact! So much for the Fake News about how Trump doesn′t pay any taxes at all. Dum-Dee-Dum-Dum. Dum-Dee-Dum-Dum-DUM!
