American traitor and once famous 60s sex kitten Hanoi Jane, otherwise known as Jane Fonda, has thrown her light weight behind the presidential candidacy of Barack Obama, otherwise known as Barry O or BO for short.

Barry O’s circle of friends and endorsements just keeps growing. Lets see, there’s the Black Panthers, Louis Farrakhan, the Reverend Jeremiah Wright, Moveon.org and George Soros. I know I’m leaving a ton of them out. Oh, how could I forget John the soldiers can’t read and write Kerry. I also heard that Hamas was gearing up an internet campaign to help him get elected.

The question is how much this endorsement will help him?

The problem for those of a certain generation that endured the Vietnam War and the sometimes violent domestic conflict that accompanied it at home is that during Fonda’s controversial wartime visit to North Vietnam, she was photographed at a Communist anti-aircraft gun battery.

According to the photo caption distributed at the time, she joined North Vietnamese soldiers there in singing an antiwar song while preparing to shoot at attacking Americans.

This earned her the nickname Hanoi Jane (indeed, that’s the TMZ headline this afternoon) and an enduring image as a polarizing figure, especially regarding patriotism.

As it happens, the Republican presidential candidate this time is Sen. John McCain of Arizona, who was one of those American fliers shot down over that same city by those same anti-aircraft forces, tortured and spent nearly six years in a POW cell while Fonda returned home.

Its obvious that Hanoi Jane is feeling a great deal of remorse for sitting on the very guns that shot down American planes and cheering for the Vietcong as they shot down Americans and American planes. I doubt John McCain would accept Jane’s endorsement since he was shot down in one of those planes and subsequently spent almost six years being tortured in the Hanoi Hilton.

Hanoi Jane is not known to be a great intellect, but she obviously at least knows enough to know that her endorsement is the kiss of death for a candidate. Seeing as how she’s pretty much universally hated and all. I suppose this could be her pathetic way of trying to make up for her endorsement of the torture of our American soldiers by the Vietcong.

Either that or its just one more piece of evidence that the far far left is trying their damnedest to hijack the democratic party and get the most liberal person they can into the White House. Yeah, its one of those two things.
