Some people just can′t help being stupid. Take the case of how George W. Bush and his father, George H. W. Bush have announced that they will not support Donald J. Trump as the 2016 GOP presumptive presidential nominee. Trump knocked Ted Cruz out of the race for the White House on Tuesday after winning a decisive victory in the Indiana primary. Ohio Governor John Kasich suspended his campaign yesterday. He apparently made his decision while sitting in a plane on the tarmac waiting to fly to Virginia for a fund raiser. Like Cruz, Kasich did not mention Trump′s name at all in his announcement, and instead babbled for some 20 minutes about being guided by God. Okay, John, go guide your way to an IHOP for some pancakes!
A mix of knives and garlands was served up by members of the Republican Party to Donald Trump. Many say that they will support the presumptive nominee but will not actively campaign for him. Others refuse to accept Trump at all. Over at RedState, Erik Erickson is calling on GOP senators to vote in Obama′s Supreme Court candidate as they already believe that Hillary Clinton will win in November. But Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is standing firm in blocking the appointment.
The general attitude at this point is that Donald Trump must now earn the support of Conservatives. This is odd as he apparently already has since most of the 10 Million-plus voters whom have cast ballots for Trump identify themselves as being Conservative. But this does not satisfy the party elites, nor those who earn a living by promoting so-called Conservative principles. They do not care what the riff-raff of voters think. After all, those voters do not write books, appear on television, nor hold elected offices. Most of those voters did not go to the ′right schools′, like Harvard, Princeton or Yale.
During several interviews since winning in Indiana, Trump has said that while he would like to have the full support of the GOP, he accepts that there are some whose support he is not interested in having. Donald Trump has a completely different game plan for winning the White House than that of previous candidates. In the past, such candidates generally came from the party elite and were tight with the ′donor class′. Their mission was to convince ′The Base′ of the Republican Party, the voters and grassroots activists, to support them.
With Donald Trump, he already has ′The Base′ wrapped up! Exit and other polling data show that most GOP voters will vote for Trump over Hillary Clinton. Only about 25% say they will not and this number is early and reflects the bitterness of a hard fought primary season. I predict that as time takes us closer to November, the reality of facing 4 to 8 years of Hillary in the White House will whittle that number down to a small percentage.
Guys like Mark Levin will not come around so quickly as they are crazy ideologues more concerned with principles than results. But the overwhelming number of voters show the opposite, they are less motivated by ideals and seek someone who can deliver results. That someone being Donald J. Trump, who has a lifetime of experience in accomplishing 1st Class ambitions. Trump acts more like Admiral David Farragut than William F. Buckley Jr.. ″Damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead!″
This is the big problem facing the GOP and those associated with it. We′ve had nothing but talk from a long line of talkers for decades. As much as the Conservative Movement has been preaching since even before Ronald Reagan, we really do not have anything to show for it. The National Debt has continued to grow. Big Government just keeps getting bigger. Our national morality and culture continue to decline. A lot of people talk, and write books, about restoring the Constitution but it just keeps getting weaker, more diluted.
Donald J. Trump likes to talk a lot, too, but he backs up his talk with actual achievement! The guy builds skyscrapers for crying out loud! Ayn Rand once called skyscrapers the greatest monuments of Mankind. On two occasions, Trump voluntarily intervened in public work projects which had gone nowhere after many years and much money. He completed the projects quickly and efficiently.
While others merely talk about fighting Big Government, Donald Trump has actually battled bureaucrats and defeated them. If you want a leader, a REAL LEADER, who can cut through the red tape and get things done, then Trump is a proven quantity. So I have to say that the sour grapes coming out the GOP elites and donor class, as well as from the so-called Conservative Movement, are mighty hollow. Just empty noise from folks who do nothing but talk all day.
So to George W. Bush and his father, George H. W. Bush, I say ″Boo-Hoo!″ I′m playing the world′s smallest violin for your sour grapes about not supporting Donald J. Trump, the 2016 GOP presumptive presidential nominee. You, along with Erik Erickson and Mark Levin and Ben Shapiro and Jonah Goldberg can join Glenn Beck on the suicide watch list for all I care. Welcome to the Age of Donald Trump! Trump will beat Hillary Rodham Clinton to a pulp and win in a landslide. I′ve been saying that long before Rush Limbaugh has. Hillary calls Trump a ″loose cannon″ and she is absolutely right! That loose cannon is pointed at right down her throat! She has no idea what is in store for her. Trump will rip her head off and take a dump down her neck! I plan to be laughing all the way as Donald J. Trump becomes our next President of the United States of America. He will go down in history as the greatest president we′ll ever have, at least until Ivanka runs. I can see it now, Donald as Henry VIII and Ivanka as Elizabeth I. The Trump Dynasty is coming our way! God save the Foundation!
