In a move sure to bring liberals to their feet in appreciation, but with possible dire consequences, Hugo Chavez has moved 10 battalions of troops to the border with Columbia and closed Venezuela’s embassy in Bogata. The reason for this dangerous and rash move? Columbia has finally managed to kill off Raul Reyes. If you are not sure who Raul Reyes is, he is brutish thug, er, Marxist leader of the Columbian resistance force FARC. Reyes has raised millions by selling cocaine, mostly here in America, to fund guerrilla resistance to the legitimate government of Columbia, who is currently an ally with the US. He is also responsible for the death of hundreds if not thousands who have inteferred with FARCs resistance and drug operations.
Chavez, clearly incensed by the execution of this thug, had nothing but good things to say about Reyes, calling him “a good revolutionary” and calling the Bolivian officials cowards and murderers. I don’t expect much else from Chavez who likes to cozy up with dictators and thugs, the club is a pretty exclusive one in the world. My only thought is I hope that the next “murder” that occurs down that way has a bullet with the name “Chavez” on it. One less thug in the world to worry about.

So do oil prices hit $200 a barrel tomorrow on speculation of war between Venezuala and Columbia?

More like $103. I am sure this is Bush’s fault also.

The easiest way to make this guy irrelevant is to start drilling offshore and in ANWAR and embargo all Venezuela products. Lets see how well they do without the US buying their stinking oil. It will never happen because those 4 moose in ANWAR might be displaced, ooh well.
