Is the timing of the Chris Christie bridge scandal a tad too convenient? The Liberal Media has been on fire over this story. MSNBC has been devoted to it for the past 24 hours. Its the perfect rug to sweep under the Robert Gates book story where he not only slams Barack Obama, but also Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden, the two obvious front runners for the Democrats in 2016. Since the November 2012 elections, when Christie helped get Obama reelected, the Media has been busy, preparing to take him down should he run for the White House in 2016. He′s been referred to as ′The Boss′, like some Mafioso character, or just a plain bully. Of course, the Liberal Media is convinced that Christie will be the GOP frontrunner during the primaries, despite of his RINO status. Progressive Marxists, like George Soros, are already lining up to support Christie as they see him as being somebody they can take down easily once the nominations are in place. So what is all the hub-bub about anyway?

Last August, two emails exchanged between Bridget Anne Kelly and David Wildstein, both were on Christie′s staff, appear to point to some political payback against the mayor of Fort Lee, New Jersey by closing lanes of the George Washington Bridge. Kelly, who is Christie′s deputy chief of staff emailed Wildstein, director of the Port Authority, that it was, ″Time for some traffic problems in Fort Lee.″ Wildstein replied on the same day, August 13, saying, ″Got it.″ On September 6, Wildstein orders the manager of the George Washington Bridge to close two of the three local access lanes from Fort Lee and this is carried out on September 9. By September 12, traffic is so bad that Mayor Mark Sokolich, a Democrat who did not endorse Christie for reelection, begins complaining about the decision, even suggesting that it was a ″punitive″ reaction to his not endorsing Christie.

New York Governor Andrew Coumo gets involved the next day on the 13th, ordering that the lane closures be lifted. Three days later, the Port Authority claims that the lane closures were done to conduct some sort of traffic safety study. In October, reviews on the decision become official, though the matter has little impact on the reelection of Christie on November 5. Later in the month, there was more machinations by local politicians over the controversy. On December 2, Christie joked at a press conference that ″I worked the cones.″ Wildstein resigned on December 6, saying that the story had ″become a distraction.″

But the distraction did not die. By mid December, a group with ties to Hillary Clinton beat the drums further and the next Christie staffer to resign was William Baroni, the deputy executive director of the Port Authority. On December 17, four days after Baroni resigned, U.S. Senator Jay Rockefeller kicks the story up the ladder calling for Congressional hearings. So, looking at this time line of events, it is clear to see that the bridge scandal story has been around for a while. So why did it suddenly become front page news yesterday?

This takes us back to the Robert Gates book about how incompetent Barack Obama is. More specifically, how Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden are a pair of clowns. The Liberal Media needed something to talk about other than how Obama sent more troops into Afghanistan even though he believed that the mission would fail. About 75% of all killed and wounded U.S. troops during the War in Afghanistan have occurred during Obama′s surge. How does that compare with a traffic snarl in New Jersey?

So the Chris Christie bridge scandal is the Far Left′s answer to protecting Obama from criticism, as well as keeping the skirts of Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden nice and clean. Will there be long-term repercussions for the closing of lanes of the George Washington Bridge by Port Authority director David Wildstein, causing traffic problems in Fort Lee? Will this scandal cost Chris Christie his shot at the White House in 2016? I′m sure we′ll hear more about this in the very near future.
