December 7, 1941 to May 7, 1945 is 3 years, 5 months, 1 day.

March 21st 2010 to October 1 2013 is 3 years, 6 months, 10 days.

Those two time periods are roughly of the same length.
The question is, why are both noteworthy?

The first block of time accounts for the period between the attack on Pearl Harbor to the day Germany surrendered. During that time this country mobilized millions, built tens of thousands of tanks, planes, jeeps, subs, cruisers, destroyers and torpedoes. We also built millions upon millions of guns, bombs and ammunition. In the process, we turned the tide in North Africa, freed Italy, fought D-Day and the Battle of the Bulge and arguably won the race to Berlin – all while also fighting the Japanese in the Pacific!!

We did all that in roughly the same amount of time it took the government to develop and prove they could not manage to build a website today.

That, is what the two time periods have in common.

Makes you proud doesn’t it?

I can’t claim credit for this observation. The author is unknown, but it was worth passing on.
