Who′s in jail in Polk County, Florida? None other than Pastor Terry Jones, who was arrested on Wednesday along with his associate pastor, Marvin Sapp. The two were taken into custody for attempting to burn some 3,000 copies of the Quran. Wednesday was the twelfth anniversary of the 9 – 11 attacks. So Pastor Jones decided what better way to celebrate than show his contempt for all things Middle East. So he and Sapp drove a pick up truck with 2,998 Korans, one for each victim of the 2001 terror attack, and plenty of kerosene to Mulberry, just outside of Tampa. The truck had a trailer attached to it that housed a large BBQ grill. The head of the Dove World Outreach Center in Gainesville, Florida is facing charges of transporting fuel in an illegal manner as well as openly carrying a firearm. Sapp is also charged for transporting fuel in an illegal manner, plus not having proper registration for the trailer. Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd knew what Jones was up to when an application for a permit to hold a demonstration at the Loyce E. Harper Park, but the permit had been denied.

So once again we have the crazy Florida pastor, Terry Jones, stirring up trouble. When will this guy learn? Burning Qurans is not exactly the way to make a valid point about opposing radical Islamic terrorism. If Terry Jones and his buddy, Marvin Sapp, were smart, they would start a series of comic books with images of the Prophet Mohammed, blessing and peace be upon him. That would be enough to cause a riot somewhere in the Middle East. We would not be asking who′s in jail on the 12th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. Instead we′d be asking how long before something happens to the Dove World Outreach Center?
