During a town hall meeting in Michigan this week, Oklahoma Senator Tom Coburn spoke on an Obama impeachment. Barack Obama and the GOP have not been on good terms since the beginning of his administration. David Axelrod told the fill-in crew at MSNBC′s ′Morning Schmoe′ that Coburn was, ″way out of bounds″, for suggesting an Obama impeachment. Sen. Tom Coburn told the crowd at Muskogee that Barack Obama was, ″perilously close″ to impeachment, meaning that there may be enough incompetence and direct violations by the Obama administration to establish the criteria for what may qualify as ′high crimes and misdemeanors.′ Needless to say, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz agrees with Coburn that an impeachment might be close. So is an impeachment possible or are Republicans just spinning their wheels again?
Believe me, I′m the first person who would be very happy to see Obama impeached. Well, maybe second after ′The Great One, Mark Levin. Hah-Hah! Few things would make me smile more than watching Obama either forced out of office or at least exiting in 2017 with the disgrace of an impeachment staining his career. But, the reality is that until the GOP can get control of the Senate, it simply will not happen.
Quite a bit of what the Obama administration has done would qualify as ′high crimes and misdemeanors. A federal court has already determined that his recess appointments were invalid. Many can argue that his recent delays in implementing ObamaCare violate the law. Plus there is the White House picking and choosing what laws they intend to enforce. The list goes on and on.
So while I agree with Sen. Tom Coburn on an Obama impeachment, it is currently unrealistic to see such happening. Forget about what David Axelrod said about his old boss, Barack Obama is incompetent and has abused and misused his powers. The bad blood between Obama and the GOP is largely of his own doing after completely ignoring Republicans during the first two years of his administration. Whatever discord there is between the White House and Congress is clearly Obama′s own fault. It has nothing to do with Ted Cruz, Rush Limbaugh or the Tea Party.
