The big happening this past weekend, the Bilderberg meeting for 2013, was held at The Grove Hotel, an exclusive golf resort in Hertfordshire, near the town of Watford, England. The four-day conference had some 140 attendees, the cream of the crop of politics, finance, media and academia. The Bilderberg Group has always been a subject of controversy, often seen as puppet masters, or as the chief puppets for the real masters who hide in the shadows of global power. Some of those attending this year may surprise you. David Petraeus, former head of the CIA joined another retired Obama cabinet member, Timothy Geithner. Of course, it wouldn′t be a Bilderberg meeting without Henry Kissinger and good-egg Donald Graham of the Washington Post. Nor would it be any fun without the heads of Goldman Sachs, Barclay, HSBC and other major banks. Even Bill and Hillary Clinton dropped by for a visit with David Rockefeller.
Security was tight as always. British police made certain that there were no incidents as many protesters gathered beyond the perimeter to voice their disgust with the world′s elite. On this agenda were many topics, such as jobs, unemployment, economic growth, entitlement programs and sovereign debt issues. Christine Lagarde, head of the International Monetary Fund, seemed to be reveling in all of the attention the super-conference of the super-elite were getting. Mind you, not by the American press! Too bad since ′Big Data′ was also a topic with the Jeff Bezos of Amazon and Eric Schmidt of Google attending. Might have been a good place to get some reaction to the NSA snooping scandal.
Call it whatever you like, the Bilderberg meeting for 2013 was THE place to be this past weekend! Police in the UK had apparently been preparing for some 18 months to provide security for the global elitists. Guessing who attended was hard at first with the Grove Hotel essentially walled-off from the rest of the planet and guests arriving in vehicles with blacked-out windows. But thanks to actual journalists in the UK, a list of attendees did surface, along with the Bilderberg Group agenda for their annual meeting.
