ABC News reporter Jonathan Karl caused quite a stir resulting in another Jay Carney press conference that was entertaining, to say the least. Karl′s story was an expansion from previous ones done by others, such as Stephen Hayes of the Weekly Standard concerning State Department emails to the White House over the Benghazi talking points memo from last September. Fox News and CBS News had reported back then about how the memo, used by U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice on Sunday morning talks shows, were modified. Last September, Jay Carney said that the White House only made one minor ″stylistic″ change, referring to the consulate in Benghazi, Libya as a ″diplomatic facility.″ But Karl reported yesterday that there had been at least 12 different drafts of the memo with whole paragraphs removed or altered, including eliminating any references to Al Qaeda or the Islamic militant group, Ansar al-Sharia.
During the press conference, Carney was pummeled by questions as he tap-danced with the facts. Carney basically threw the CIA and Hillary Clinton under the bus claiming that most of the changes which have now come to light were not done by the White House. But despite his defense, it is becoming increasingly clear that the Obama administration has not been truthful and there are still many unanswered questions. It has also become clear that now, even the Washington Press Corps has been forced to actually report on the growing body of evidence of cover-ups and lies.
Like the parable of the pebbles and the water well, the continuous dripping of facts on the Benghazi terrorist attack is starting to reach a critical mass. This week′s testimony by former Libyan Mission Chief, Gregory Hicks, to the House Oversight and Reform Committee is too hard to ignore. While attempts are underway by the hardcore Left-Wing Media to discredit the 22-year State Department veteran diplomat, it is difficult to see how they will succeed. Hicks is not only not a political enemy of the Obama administration, but a life-long Democrat who voted for Hillary Clinton in the 2008 primaries and voted twice for Barack Obama in the national elections in 2008 and 2012. So any claims about him being some Koch Brother operative falls flat on its face.
What we have here is the whole web of lies are unraveling as Benghazi emails are surfacing to public scrutiny. The White House cannot hide the truth forever. So one must ponder now as to who will be the John Dean in this political scandal? Is it Gregory Hicks? David Petraeus? Are Joe Biden or John Kerry helping to set up Hillary Clinton to take the fall, so they have a shot at running in 2016? There is much more come, folks, so stay tuned! Or, as Captain Murphy of Sealab 2012 would say, ″White Russians and keep′em coming!″
